Chicago ranks among the best in the NBA defensively, allowing an average of just 91.5 points per game. They are coming off another stellar performance in their last game, limiting the lowly Washington Wizards to just 77 points in an 87-77 home win on Saturday.
The Wizards are one of the poorest teams in the league, and they only average 88 points per game, but the Bobcats aren't much better.
The Bulls will host Charlotte on Monday, and the Bobcats haven't won a game since November 24, when they beat the Wizards in Washington. Since then the Bobcats have averaged just 90 points per game, and have only hit 39 percent of their shots from the field.
Chicago hasn't been that strong offensively either, only averaging just 86.3 points over their last three games, but considering the opposition, they may not need to score a lot to win this game.
The two teams have faced each other three times in 2012, and each of those meetings failed to combine for over 185 points. The tota... [More]

Todays featured Free Pick comes from Art Aronson. Art Aronson is on Fire and had a HUGE 4-1 Saturday Bowl Card. He is +$20,579 the last 31 days alone. He is offering is Expert Analysis on this winner for FREE.
Pick: New England
Start: December 30, 2012 - 4:25 PM
Capper: Art Aronson
Offered at: justbet @ -10 -110 New England
I am playing on the New England Patriots.
I have played successfully against the Pats the last two weeks but I think this is a week were the value has swung back to a team that is trying get in the right mode for its most important games of the year. The Pats scored just 23 points last game against Jags. I expect the number one offense in the league to pick it up here at home.
Start this by saying that the Patriots have covered the spread in the last four straight regular season finale games. It would have been five straight if they had managed to cover a huge 22 point spread against the Dolphins. You will remember that that was the year they had the perfect season going and they won by just 21 points in the final game.
Back to this year, the Patriots failed to cover the spread in their last two games, barely coming out with a victory in Jacksonville and losing to the 49ers at home. Tom Brady and company are more than likely to come out swinging this week against a divisional opponent no matter if the team can get a top two se... [More]

Today's featured FREE pick comes from Chris Elliott for Week 17 NFL.
Capper: Chris Elliott
Pick: Over 44.5
Analysis: The Bears can score on offense and defense, averaging 23.3 PPG to rank 15th in the NFL with their defense posting 9 TDs to lead the NFL with Tillman and Briggs accounting for a massive 5 defensive TDs combined. The Lions are averaging 23.2 PPG while totalling an excellent 311.5 yards with the top ranked passing offense. Expect Johnson to continue his record setting season with 1,892 receiving yards.
The Bears QB Jay Cutler is healthy for this game and that is a big key for Chicago's offense as he is the catalyst with 2,776 yards and 18 TDs after missing a few starts this season. He has been especially strong after a slow start, with 15 TD and 8 INT in his last 11 games. Top RB Matt Forte was seen wearing a walking boot after Sunday's game but rest assured he will play Sunday in the teams biggest game thus far this season as they are in the thick of the playoff hunt. The Bears offense opens up on the road with the "Over" cashing in 5 of the last 6 road games with the average total in those games sitting at 47 PPG while they had a stretch of scoring 125 points in 3 road games in Oct/Nov against teams similarly ranked defensively as the Lions.
The Lions have made their mark this season with the passing offense ranking 1st in the NFL as QB Matt Stafford has thrown the rock a... [More]

Today's featured FREE pick comes from Jesse Schule for Week 17 NFL. He was 6-1 for the NFL on Sunday of Week 16.
Pick: Kansas City +17
Analysis: The Broncos won a tight game on the road in Kansas City, winning 17-9 on November 25 (I had a 2-team teaser with Denver + UNDER). Denver is the hottest team in the league, winning 10 straight games, and they are 7-3 ATS during that span. They have already clinched their division, and while they would like to have home field advantage throughout the playoffs, staying healthy might prove to be far more important.
The Chiefs offense combined for more than 500 yards in a losing effort against the Colts last week, and their defense held Indianapolis to less than 300 yards of offense. Jamal Charles had a standout performance, running for 226 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. The game remained tied for most of the fourth quarter, until Andrew Luck hooked up with Reggie Wayne in the final minutes of the game.
Denver is more than a two touchdown favorite at home this week, despite the fact that the Chiefs have covered the points in each of the two previous meetings in 2012. In fact, going back to 2010 the Chiefs have won two of four, and neither of the two losses were by double digits.
There is no doubt that Denver is a better team, but I don't think this is the week they put it all on the line and play smash mouth f... [More]

Off a great regular season, Ben's bowl plays are off to a 2-1 start. College hoops has been playing with profit from Day 1. NBA: LA Lakers Vs Golden State December 22, 2012 - 10:30 PM
Capper: Ben Burns
Pick: Golden State PK
Its easy for a lot of bettors to remember bad beats. Devastating losses can be hard to forget.
I think its important to remember that luck does tend to even out though.
Last night, I had a big play on the "over" in the Celtics/Bucks game. Quite frankly, it wasn't a good pick ...
However, I was very fortunate that the Celtics, who were down by seven with less than a minute to play, managed to get the game to OT. Paul Pierce would force the extra period with a 3-pointer with 2.5 seconds left in regulation. (The added points scored in OT were enough for the final score to top the total.)
Hey. I'll take it! As someone who typically plays more "unders" than "overs," I've been burned by games going into OT many times. More often than its worked in my favor.
Thankfully, my other two Friday winners (Pistons and UCF) were a little easier ... [More]

NBA: Chicago vs New York, December 21, 2012 - 7:30 PM
Capper: Matt Fargo
Pick: Chicago +6.5
The Knicks and Bulls square off for the second time this season and New York seeks revenge as well as tries to extend its lead in the Eastern Conference. The Bulls might have something to say about that though.
The Knicks won their last game, a home win over Brooklyn and they have taken it to their new neighbors the last two meetings. That moved New York to 11-1 at home and 19-6 overall to remain a game ahead of Miami for top position in the Eastern Conference. Being a public team already, this great start to the season has only added to the public love and we are seeing some significant line overadjustments. This is a another case of it as the Knicks were favored by six points against Brooklyn which has a worse record than Chicago and is in the midst of a 2-8 run but they are f... [More]

Check out his expert analysis below.
NBA: Oklahoma City vs Minnesota - December 20, 2012 - 7:00 PM
Capper: Chris Elliott
Pick: Minnesota +4
The Thunder are road warriors with a record of 7-2 while they have won 7 of the last 8 games at Minnesota although they are only 2-6 ATS in that stretch. Thursday will be the back end of road games in consecutive days for OKC. The T-Wolves are no slouch at home with a 7-3 mark, while they will be hungry coming off back to back road losses.
The Oklahoma City Thunder (21-4, 7-2 away) continue their road trip Thursday at Minnesota coming off of a 100-92 victory at Atlanta Wednesday night Kevin Durant went off in the victory over the Hawks with 41 points; he now averages 27.1 PPG on the season.
The Minnesota Timberwolves (12-11, 7.3 home) have played great basketball at home, winning 4 straight games by an average margin of +9.8 PPG. PF Kevin Love is well rested after coming off an "illness" while he has established himself as one of the top big men in the game with 19.0 PPG and 14.2 rebounds.... [More]

NBA: San Antonio a Denver, December 18, 2012 - 9:00 PM
I successfully played against the Spurs last night, part of a 3-0 sweep with my premium basketball plays.
As much as I respect Popovich and the Spurs, I feel that they may be in tough again tonight.
While the Nuggets had yesterday off, the Spurs played at Oklahoma City, a playoff rematch which had some "extra intensity."
It should be noted that the Spurs often actually perform quite well, when playing the second of back-to-back games. In fact, they're 28-16-2 ATS in that situation the past 2+ seasons.
However, the Spurs did lose (98-90 at Portland) the last time that they were playing the second of back to back games and I'm a firm believer that not all back-to-back situations are equal.
In this case, the Spurs will also be playing their eighth game in the past 12 days, which is quite grueling stretch. I'm aware that Duncan and Parker got some rest in the fourth quarter last night but when considering the fact that this game will be played in the high altitude of Denver, I still feel that fatigue could ... NBA: Chicago at Memphis December 17, 2012 - 8:00 PM
Pick: Chicago 6.5
Analysis: Chicago is 13-9 SU and 8-14 ATS; it's won two in a row, including an 83-82 victory over the Nets as a 4.5 point favorite last time out. The Bulls continue to get the job done with tough defensive play, forcing the Nets into 18 turnovers. Marco Belinelli led the charge with 19 points.
Joakim Noah had 12 points and 10 boards; Marquis Teague finished with eight points.
Note that Chicago is 6-3 ATS in its last nine road games.
Memphis is 15-6 SU and 13-7-1 ATS; after three straight losses, the Grizzlies finally got off the schneid with a 99-86 win at Utah on the 15th as a 2 point underdog.
Zach Randolph had 25 points and grabbed 16 boards; Marc Gasol finished with 16 points, eight boards, two blocks and two steals.
Note though that Memphis is just 2-4 ATS in its last six overall.
The Bulls are playing their best basketball of the young season, getting the job done by committee; I believe they'll surprise the home side tonight, and keep this one much closer than what the oddsmakers are leading us to believe; consider a second look at the visitors in this one!

NFL: Kansas City vs Oakland December 16, 2012 - 4: 25 PM
Pick: Oakland -2.5
There are only two teams in the NFL with fewer wins than the Oakland Raiders, and they will face one of those when the Chiefs come to Oakland this Sunday. Kansas City has just two wins on the season, and they have lost five of six on the road. The Raiders have only three victories this season, and their last win came on the road in Kansas City by a score of 26-16.
Darren McFadden ran for 114 yards on 29 carries in that game. McFadden played well in his return to the lineup last week, running for 52 yards on just 11 carries, and adding a couple of receptions for 12 yards and a touchdown. He will have an excellent chance to put up some big numbers this week, going up against a Chiefs defense that has really struggled against the run. Kansas City ranks 27th in the league allowing an average of over 130 yards rushing per game. Last week the Browns ran for 154 yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns in a 30-7 blowout win in Cleveland.
The Chiefs passing game has been te... [More]

Capper: Marc Lawrence
NCAAB: Alabama vs VCU December 15, 2012 - 4:00 PM
Pick: Alabama +7
Play On: Alabama
Note: The Tide started the season high with three straight wins but a pair of losses now finds them behind last year’s 21-12 (.636 win percentage) pace. Fortunately for Alabama’s four-returning starters – try as they may – the Rams just can’t beat the SEC. Dating back to 1990, VCU is 0-14 SU and 5-9 ATS versus the Superior Egotistic Conference, including 0-5 ATS at home.
It looks to be ‘The Same Old Song’ for Shaka Smart’s squad 47 years later as Bama is 8-2-1 ATS as a dog off back-to-back SU losses and 2-0 ATS versus the Atlantic-10 after arriving off consecutive setbacks. And though we respect Smart, don’t expect a ‘different meaning’ tonight in Richmond – grab the points as the visiting team improves to 11-0 ATS in Rams/SEC skirmishes.
We recommend a 1-unit play on Alabama. Thank you and good luck as always.

NBA: Sacramento vs. Oklahoma City December 14, 2012 - 8:00 PM
Capper: Ben Burns
Pick: Under 205.5
This O/U line has climbed since its opener and I believe that the current number is providing us with very fair value.
The Thunder are off a 92-88 win over New Orleans, on Tuesday. Naturally, that game stayed well below the total. It also marked the sixth time in its last eight games in which OKC held its opponent to double-digits in scoring.
Hosting a Sacramento team which has only hit triple-digits once in it last eight games, I expect the Thunder to again have some success on the defensive end of the floor. During that stretch, the Kings have only averaged 92.5 points.
As bad as it sounds, that 8-game average of 92.5 is actually more points than the Kings average on the road. In nine road games, they're averaging just 90.9 points, hitting a... [More]

NCAAB: Washington vs. Seattle December 13, 2012 - 10:00 PM
Capper: Ben Burns https://experts.covers.com/Handicapper/Ben_Burns
Pick: SEATTLE 8.5
I'm already 2-0 with this Seattle team this season. I successfully backed the Redhawks in their first game, a blowout win over Montana State.
I also played on the Redhawks in their most recent game, an outright upset at Eastern Washington. While the Huskies certainly represent a big step up in class, I feel that the Redhawks are again providing excellent value. Its not uncommon to see "smaller" schools play with added emotion when matched up against a lager school from within their state.
My play on Portland State last night was a perfect example. The Vikings were hosting "instate rival" Oregon State. Fired up at a chance to knock off a school from a larger conference, the Vikings came out on fire, eventually earning the cover.
Facing the "mighty" Huskies, I expect the Redhawks to also come out with some added intensity here.

Capper: Matt Fargo
Offered at: pinnacle @ 3.5 -105
The Spurs bring in a the best record in the league as well as a five-game winning streak and despite the best road record in the NBA, they have not faced strong opposition.
San Antonio owns the best record in the NBA at 18-4 and it is currently riding a five-game winning streak heading into tonight. The Spurs have been getting it done both at home and on the road and their 11-2 road record is the best in the NBA. They haven't exactly played the best of competition however as 10 of those 11 wins have come against teams that all possess a losing record with the lone road win against a winning team being against Boston back in mid-November. The Spurs offense has been lights out during the first half of this roadtrip as they have averaged 133.0 ppg on 51.6 percent shooting from behind the arc. Things could change tonight though as Utah has won three-straight games which is tied for a season high and while the opposition has been average at best, it has pushed the Jazz back over .500 after sustaining a three-game losing streak just prior to this. Utah still possesses one ... [More]

Yesterday, we successfully played on the Pistons to finish "over" the number at Philadelphia, a game that topped the total by double-digits.
We're getting a considerably higher number to work with for tonight's game vs. Denver; I feel that the value has now shifted the other way.
While I was happy to see them give up 104 at Philly last night, (I had a play on the 76'ers) the Pistons have been relatively stingy here at home. For the season, they're holding visiting teams to a respectable 94.9 points per game, on 42.9% shooting. Games here are averaging 195 points.
This will be the sixth time that the Pistons will have played the second of back to back games. The previous five games produced an average of 193 points.
True, the Nuggets can score. They check in averaging 100.7 points per game, 99.4 ppg away from Denver. The Pistons tend to try and slow things down against better offenses... [More]
