Doc's Sports Thursday MLB Free Play. 10* Selection from the Seattle - Boston Game highlights our Thursday Card!

Free MLB Play from Doc’s Sports Take #909 Los Angeles Dodgers (-145) over Chicago Cubs (Thursday, 8:05pm ET) The Los Angeles Dodgers are 27-6 in their last 33 games and have taken over the lead in the NL West going from worst to first in a matter of a little over a month. It’s been an impressive run that has seen each unit of their team step up in so many ways to continuously get the job done. But despite all of the accolades and attention that they’ve been getting, the betting markets seem stubborn and won’t give Los Angeles their due credit. They’re still getting penalized for their early struggles despite the fact that this is a completely different club than what they put on the field in April and May. Meanwhile, they’ve continue to cash tickets at the window and there’s no reason to stop backing them against a Chicago Cubs team that is a little bit shell shocked right now. The Cubs were swept in a doubleheader by the Brewers on Tuesday, blowing late leads in both games that they had firm grips on. These things seemingly always happen to the Cubs, but it’s even more demoralizing when it happens against a team that is playing as poorly as Milwaukee has been. Ricky Nolasco gets the ball for the Dodgers in this game and he’s been in nice form since coming over to Los Angeles in a trade. He’s pitched three of his four games with the Dodgers on the road, but has still managed a 3.13 ERA despite pitching in some tough parks like Toronto and Arizona. The Cubs go to young left-hander Chris Rusin in this matchup. He’s looked alright in three starts this season, but most will agree that he’s not ready for the major leagues yet. He’s getting a chance due to the trade of Matt Garza, so the Cubs are just going to see what he can do in the final two months but aren’t expecting much. He’ll have to navigate a tough Dodgers lineup that’s been pounding the ball lately, and Rusin won’t be able to go very deep in this one with a pitch count. That means the Cubs will have to rely on a shaky bullpen which is more bad news as we saw in the Milwaukee series. Take the Dodgers to get the victory today.
