The gears are starting to grind a bit at UCLA, as a collection of frosh stars who all want their hands on the ball has caused Ben Howland to lose even more hair as the Bruins (have dropped 3 of their last 4 SU) begin to slide down the Big Dance seeding scale.
As perplexing as Lorenzo Romar’s U-Dub has been (losers of 4 of last 5 SU, but have covered 7 of 9), the Huskies remain hard to beat by a margin, with their last six losses all by single-digits. UW broke its recent losing streak vs. Arizona State last Saturday, when Romar finally “let the dogs loose” in a 96-point explosion (the most since Feb. 2011 vs. Cal) after spending much of the season playing at a slower pace.
