I was at the game between the Montreal Canadiens and the NY Islanders last night in Montreal. The Bell centre was packed, great enthusiasm and the atmosphere was electric for a Monday night game.
The Canadiens looked in fine form all night. Defensively, very little mistakes, the puck movement was good and efficient and clearing the front of the net was acceptable.
The goaltending performance provided by Jaroslav Halak was very steady. No rebounds, well positioned and provided good puck support behind the net.
The forwards were strong. Better game from Latendresse, finally. The top line was average, which is still good. Particularly, I found the forecheck to be better than average and the intensity was there.
The Officiating of this game was brutal. 9 calls against Montreal, 4 or 5 of them were very questionable.
The Canadiens prevailed in overtime, letting the fans leave singing and chanting. Game review: 7/10
