The Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve are giving US financial institutions an additional 6 months ( June 1st ) to comply with regulations designed to ban Internet gambling.
The US gamblers fund half of the $16 billion a year Internet business ... I should think with Democrats in office they will want to find a way to tax such an enterprise and make it legal.

So far this year ( this month ) ...
NBA favorites are 14-25-1 with 15 of those dogs that covered, winning their games outright !!!
Major college bowl games show a similar trend going 4-9 against the number !!!
Could this be the year of the DOG !!!???

So far in 2009 ... favorites are 9-18-1 in the NBA ... the dogs are winning the college football bowl games also. I'm thinking that there is a lot of "scared" money in action ... a player that really needs a win will most often bet the favorite and hope for the best ... such action raises the point spread. I haven't added them up yet but "over the total" is also played by a scared player and I'm guessing the "under play" is a money maker ... the economy is bad and many new players are taking a shot at gambling which is effecting the numbers ... what do you think ???

The spotlight on bowl games leaves some nice value in the college hoops sector. Here's my favorite play of the day.
Louisville minus 11 1/2 over UNLV looks like the play of the day ... Louisville has a dominating rebounding advantage today over UNLV ... Louisville RPI strength of schedule # 38 ... UNLV RPI strength of schedule # 177 ... Patino benched a couple of his stars after their poor showing at Minnesota and is expected to start them today ... I expect a big team effort from Louisville today and at least a 20 point victory !!!

Michigan State is in big trouble this afternoon ... their only "big guy" Suton is 80 % at best ... Spartans highly over-rated to start the season at # 6 ... falling rapidly ... Tom Izzo falls short again getting team to play together ... I'm a Spartan fan but see Texas winning today by double digits !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No question the Cavs are one of the hottest teams in basketball but look closely ... they are 15 of their 20 wins have come against sub .500 teams ... their 3 loses all on the road to post season play teams ( Boston, Detroit NO ) ... Ilgauskas is out for tonights game being replaced by Anderson the flopper ... they played in Cleveland last night - traveled late night.
Them spotting a post season type team ( Atlanta ) on the road is not a risk one should take at this time ... ALTANTA PLUS THE 6 IS THE PLAY !!!

Purdue is a well oiled machine returning all of its starters from last year and is favored to win the BIG 10 ... on Friday night they beat Detroit 82-50 sporting a 21-2 assist to turnover ratio ... they play tonight against E. Michigan who tuned up against Marygrove College and should have no problem covering the 20 point spot ... they are a proud bunch that's looking for national attention and will light it up tonight.
