NFL Week 5 Sour Rankings

Power rankings are so repetitive and boring, everybody’s got one.  So instead of power rankings and posting my ‘Sour Rankings’ for week 5.  That’s right, the cream of the crap.  Here are a list of the 10 worst NFL teams after week 4 (Note: I also included some fun facts about teams off bye weeks, try to spot the one fake fact)

10. Buffalo Bills (1-3) – much like last year, you looked good in the beginning and now after your date in Miami you’ve come back down to earth.  You’re officially now on notice.

9. Tennessee Titans (0-4) – I always knew you were phonies.  I cut you some slack the first 3 weeks cause of your close results and tough schedule.  But your 20 point loss in Jacksonville was the final straw.

Bye week fun fact: Over the last 3 years teams coming off a bye week who play a team that are not off a bye week, win SU & ATS 63% of the time

8. Detroit Lions (1-3) – You won last week, but you still have issues.  Your not lower on the list because the opponents you’ve lost to have been tough.

7. Caroli... [More]

Top 10 NFL betting screw jobs of 2008

Did you ever match 6 numbers on your lottery ticket, only to find out that the ticket was for next weeks draw?  Did you ever marry the girl of your dreams, only to find out that it was really just a dream.  Did you buy a $1000 Plasma, only to find in on sale the next day at $600?  Well then this threads for you!

Here's are the top 10 NFL betting screw jobs of this years regular season the way I see it.  Keep in mind that these are just ATS screw jobs and not O/U or Money line screw jobs.  The lines I used are the closing lines on the covers NFL scoreboard, so your lines might have been a bit different.

Screw job #10

Week 6: Miami Dolphins at Houston Texans -3

Down by 5, Houston scores a last second game winning touchdown with 3 seconds left, putting them up 29-28. All the need to do is convert a 2-pt conversion for the push....they don't.  Texas win but don't cover.

Screw Job #9

Week 7: San Fransisco 49ers +10 at New York Giants

How do you give up a safety at your own 20 yard line?  San Fran found a way!  49ers down by 10 inside of 5 minutes and has the ball at their own 20 yard line.  Maybe a late drive could result in a cover or a push.  Nope, a QB sack results in a fumble which results in a San Fran  wide receiver coming back to kick the ball out of his own end zone for a safety which results in a 12 point Giant lead/victory,.

Week 14: St. Loui... [More]

Bizzaro Week 16 Lines

Indianapolis Colts -6.5 at Jacksonville Jaguars   I know Indy's the hot team, and Jacksonville is not playing that good at home this season, but why is indy getting so many points?  When was the last time Indy won game game by a touchdown on the road....never.  The Jags have only lost big at home vs good teams like Tennessee and Minnesota (a tough underated road team despite their road record).  Heck the Colts couldn't even cover 6.5 in Cleveland how can't they do it in Jacksonville?   San Fransisco 49ers -5.5 at St. Louis Rams   Really?  Forget their road play, the Rams have been competitive their last 2 at home vs the Fins and Hawks.  Yea the Niners played a couple of good games lately vs the Jets (slumping) and Bills (slumping) but came back down to earth in Miami.   Miami Dolphins -4 at Kansas City Chiefs   Miami's won 3 in a row, the Chiefs are 1-9 in their last 10.  This was a team that was blown out by the Bills at home last month.  They kept it close vs San Diego, but the Chargers aren't really in playoff contention....but the Fins are   New York Jets -5 at Seattle Seahawks   The Jets have been playing bad football the last 3 games.  Seattle's playing better lately especially in their last 2 home games where they've lost close games to Washington and New England.  If the Jets can't win in San Fran, what makes you think the could cover 5 in Seattle?  Better... No more Thanksgiving Football in Detroit Please

Over the past million years, it has been a tradition for Detroit and Dallas to host nationally televised games on Thanksgiving day.  Dallas has a tradition of winning and have had many great hall of fame players and minds like Troy Aikman, Roger Staubach, Emmit Smith, Tom Landry, and Jimmy Johnson to name a few.  The Detroit Lions have a history of.....well......nothing lately.  New rule, if you haven't made the playoffs in over 8 years, you not longer get national television coverage...deal?
