No way Big Ben misses any playing time. Correct?

I listen to guys like colin cowherd talking about the possibility of Big Ben not playing any football this regular season.

Unless the prosecutors have some sort of miracle evidence to bury Big Ben, I just dont see him missing anytime.

I mean there is a thing called due process and if you or I got accused of the same crime, we still would be allowed to work until the case is resolved.

Agree?

Dillon,

You know that line in every cop movie about "you have the right to remain silent"....

It really exists. Go look up the Fifth amendment. If his lawyer says he is not talking to police, he is not talking to the police. The police have to make their case without questioning the defendant.

Its actually fairly standard in cases like this for the defendant to remain silent. It doesn't necessarily mean he's guilty. There really is nothing to gain and everything to lose by talking to the cops. They are unlikely to believe your side of the story and if you get caught in a lie, even a small one, it will hurt you a lot at trial.

It's looking like he's gonna get off scott free.  The police chief ended his investigation and turned it over to Mr. Bright, the Ocmulgee Judical Court district attorney.  If he doesn't find something either, it's over.  If he has any reason to believe that more investigation needs doing, he'll turn it over to a grand jury.  Chances are, this case is over, and Ben can get back to preparing for next season.  He'll be on a short leash though with Pittsburgh.  One more screw up and he will probably be done.

You know I cannot stand Big Ben but in this country people are innocent until proven guilty.  That being said, that doesn't apply to being stupid.  It is a distinct possibility that he did neither of the acts complained by the two parties but clearly the man isn't bright if he keeps putting himself in that situation.

I would be a fool to call him a man that has been making intelligent decisions.  And I'm a huge Big Ben fan.  I just hope he can learn from this and move on.  Now that it has happened twice, I'd like to think he'll take every measurement to keep it from happening again.  I'm looking forward to all this shit ending, and next season beginning.

I've got nothing against Big Ben however, he better watch his step as he is a marked man.  All the sluts will be laying for him where they can get laid by him then file rape charges and sue for money damages.  I wish him well but he better be careful.

Well as americans, innocent till proven guilty, there is no charge, there should be no suspension...

The guy is an idiot but there is no way the NFL should be suspending without a charge at the very least. If there was anyway they could have charged him they would have.

They do need to put him on notice that any offense of any type would mean a suspension.

2-4 games. Goodell will error on the side of too long of a suspension. If he errors the other way, the race card will be thrown out faster than a Brett Favre pass when he was 25.

Goodell's problem could be with the Players assoc. they may have an issue with a player being suspened without pay when he has never been charged or actually been caught with a illegal substance.
