Hey guys -
Heres the situation. My grandmother ( who was 96 ) passed away a few weeks ago. I first found out she didnt leave anything to me or my brother or our cousins. Then I found out through my mom - my granmother left us all savings bonds ( Series HH ) $ 1000.00 face value. She bought them in Feb. 2002 - but Im not sure if they collect interest.
Anyway - I told my wife about the bond and the value - I'm not sure what to do. I'd love to get some cool stuff for myself ( and do a bit of gambling ) and maybe get some extra stuff for her and my son for xmas. I feel a little guilty about the money - I mean it was my grandmother - so the money is all mine - but we are a family / share money etc..
Not sure what to do - what do you guys think. I also thought about just giving her like $ 250-300 - just for her.
Like I said I feel guilty if I kept it all and didnt share - but I guess it was sort of my inheritance to some extent. Trying to think how I would feel if it was reversed - I mean it would be her money - she could do what she wants with it ( because its family )
You know how money does things in a marriage - Any tips or help guys would really be appreciated.
Michael

I was thinking of maybe getting an Apple Ipad - but recently I have seen some other tablets for sale that are cheaper and seem pretty comparable.
Other tablets by companies like Cruz and Pandigital.
What's everybody think?
Is the Ipad the way to go - since it's the dominant technology?
thanks

- thats a lot of pot......
TIJUANA, Mexico — Mexican soldiers have found the largest marijuana plantation ever detected in Mexico, a huge field covering almost 300 acres, the Defense Department said Thursday.
The plantation is four times larger than the previous record discovery by authorities at a ranch in northern Chihuahua state in 1984.
The pot plants sheltered under black screen-cloth in a huge square on the floor of the Baja California desert, more than 150 miles south of Tijuana, across the border from San Diego.
Army Gen. Alfonso Duarte said the screening, which is often used by regular farmers to protect crops from too much sun or heat, made it difficult to detect from the air what was growing underneath.
It was only when soldiers on the ground reached the isolated area Tuesday that they found t... [More]

COLUMBIA STATION, Ohio -- An Ohio pathologist says an exotic-animal keeper found dead in his waterbed was face down, tied with bondage restraints and had obstructions over his nose and mouth.
Dr. Frank P. Miller III at the Lorain County coroner's office tells The Associated Press on Tuesday that Sam Mazzola was asphyxiated in an apparent accident during sexual role-play. Miller says Mazzola had a sex toy in his mouth, wore a mask and was chained to the bed.
An employee found the 49-year-old Mazzola dead Sunday. The manner of his death is pending further investigation.
A bear owned by Mazzola killed an employee who opened its cage for feeding last year at the Mazzola home in Columbia Station, where wolves and tigers also were kept. Columbia Station is about 15 miles outside Cleveland.

So - there's a guy I know who I'm not really friends with him but I know him, have seen a few movies with him, done a few things here and there with him. I've known him for several years - and have spoken to him and seen him sporadically.
I was checking out my local news a few days ago online and saw a heading that stated " Local man caught in sting operation; trying to solicit minor for sex" etc.
I clicked on it and saw this story -
http://www.marconews.com/news/2011/may/26/undercover-sting-cape-coral-man-child-sex/
I couldnt believe it - this guy is 28 years old trying to have sex w/ a 14 yo girl. He gets caught ( which I'm glad he did ) and now he's ruined his life.
This guy always seemed cool and a nice guy - and then this happens. You just never really know a person. I'm still shocked by it - this guy is facing multiple felonies and prob. some prison time.
I talked with another guy who knows him and he was shocked too - I wondered if this was his first time doing this or he is a multiple offender.
Stories like this make me keep a close eye on my son ( he's almost 7 )- I worry as he gets older; I know I can't shelter him forever - but I'm def. staying vigilant.
Anyone else thoughts / opinions on this?

According to The Brothers Brick at least 35 participants contributed nearly 30 original buildings, dozens of vehicles, and hundreds of minifig zombies and survivors to make this awesome Zombie Apocalypse at BrickCon 2008. There are some great ideas in this diorama and the one from 2009 for anyone looking to spruce up a Halloween project or creep out a Christmas one.
Check out Andrew Becraft’s Flickr stream of Zombie Apocafest 2008 and Zombie Apocafest 2009. Sadly I could not find one for 2010 but I did find the The Lego Zombie Apocalypse Flickr Group for more undead brick zombies goodness.

NAPLES: A 36-year-old man is accused of exposing himself on a Naples park bench near a children's play area Wednesday.
Richard Simpson of Naples was arrested and charged with Exposure of Sexual Organs.
"I don't think he was really thinking at all- I don't think it was purposeful maybe he was just out of his mind," said Julie Kennedy, who lives near the park.
According to a Naples Police Department report, officers found Simpson stretched out and sleeping on a bench with his pants undone and penis exposed near the toddler's play area at Cambier Park in Naples Wednesday afternooon.
Police say there was a strong odor of urine coming from Simpson, and his groin area was soaked.
"In the park passed out from drinking too much alcohol - laying on a park bench with his genitals exposed," said Lieutenant John Barkley, with the Naples Police Department.
Officers say when Simpson awoke he was argumentative and belligerent, had bloodshot eyes and smelled like alcohol.

I sometimes go to a Indian Casino down here in SW FL – it’s in Immokalee, FL. About 40 minutes away from Fort Myers, FL. ( The Twins and the Red Sox have spring training camps down here in Fort Myers.)
Here’s a link to their casino – http://www.seminoleimmokaleecasino.com/
Their part of the Hard Rock Family – they have several casinos here in FL – in Tampa, and Hollywood FL.
Anyway, I went to the casino this past Monday. The casino has lots of slots, various table games ( BJ, Pai Gow Poker, Let it Ride, 3 Card Poker, Texas Hold Em Bonus Poker, Mini Baccarat ). They also have a poker room as well.
I started out playing some 3 Card Poker - I was the only one at the table. I ended up only playing about 6-7 hands. I had terrible hands; the dealer kept making pairs – I think I may have won only one hand. I started out with $ 200.00 and was down to $ 140.00 in about 5 mins.
Then I went to the Texas Hold Em Bonus Poker table – I took my $ 140.00 and added another $ 100.00. I played at this table for about 30-40 min... [More]

Hey all -
I was going to post this in the General Disc. forum but figured it was better suited to be posted in here.
I generally play BJ and sometimes this other table game called Texas Hold'em Bonus Poker.
I play at a Indian Casino about an hour away from my house. ( All the table games are basically Las Vegas/AC style type games )
I wanted to see what peoples opinions and thoughts are on 3 Card Poker and Mini Baccarat. I want to try something different other than BJ.
Any info, strategy, opinions, on these games would be welcome.
From a little bit of my research - 3 Card Poker seems a solid game to play, fun, and a way to grind out some profit.
thanks everyone.

NAPLES, Fla. (AP) — Florida wildlife officials say a 10-foot alligator bit off a man's hand while he was swimming in a canal with friends.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokeswoman Gabriella Ferraro says 18-year-old Timothy Delano of Naples is recovering at a hospital. Officials managed to catch the gator and retrieve the hand from its stomach, and doctors may be able to reattach the hand.
Ferraro says Delano was swimming with three friends around 9:30 p.m. Sunday when the alligator attacked.
The men swam to shore and drove to a gas station, where they called 911. Delano was flown by helicopter to a hospital.
Wildlife officials say people should stay out of freshwater canals and lakes this time of year because alligators are more active, especially around dawn and dusk.

Naples is about an hour south of me - I live in Cape Coral; next to Fort Myers. This guy was a total idiot - you never swim in the canals down here in SWFL - you can never see in the canals, they are not meant to swim in - there's always a possibility of gators and snakes in them too. - crazy story. I cant believe they caught the gator who bit his hand off - what are the friggin odds of catching that gator later ????????????

I recently went to a local casino in my area of SW FL – The Seminole Indian Casino in Immokalee, FL. It’s a small casino – no hotel – but it has BJ, slots, a poker room, and other table games ( though no craps or roulette ).
Anyway my wife and I both went there this past Sunday – I usually just play BJ – my will play some slots. We walked around the casino and found this other table game – Texas Hold Em Bonus Poker.
This table had a $ 10.00 minimum ante bet. ( So if my ante bet was 10.00 – to see the flop I would have to bet 2x my ante bet ( 20.00 ) to bet the turn – it’s the max of your ante bet; same for the river.
The bonus is really cool – I saw a guy with a A-A unsuited as his hole cards win a shitload of money just from the bonus – it was over $ 500.00. - I won 50.00 with the bonus when I got a A-J unsuited ( I bet 5.00 ) - odds were 10-1.
I like the game because you get a lot of play out of it for your time. I think it’s my new fave table game.

I was at my local casino in SW FL recently - A place called the Seminole Casino in Immokalee, FL.
This casino is a small casino - no hotel - but they have slots, a poker room, black jack, and some other table games. ( no roulette or craps here - but a lot of other table games )
This past Sunday I was there ( and my wife ) - I usually only play BJ - she plays some BJ - but mostly slots.
Anyway - we walked around the casino and found this one table game called Texas Hold Em bonus poker.
Here are the rules -
The table I played on was a minimum ante of $ 10.00
( So I would ante 10.00 - but to see the flop I had to pay 2x my ante bet - so If my ante bet was 10.00 my flop bet would be 20.00. If I wanted to bet on the turn - my max bet would be what my ante was ( 10,00 ) ; same for the river bet ( 10.00 )
The game is played with a standard 52 card deck.
Each player makes an ante bet of 1 unit and may make an optional bonus bet.
The player and dealer are both dealt two cards (face down).
After checking his/her cards, the player may decide to fold with no further play losing the ante bet or make a flop bet of two units.
Three cards are then dealt to the board.
The player may decide to check or make a turn bet of one unit.
Another card is dealt to the board (making four cards in total on the board).
The player may decide to check or make a river bet of one unit.
One more card is dealt to the board (making fiv...
