What Is The Most Boring Sport To Watch?

My Vote Goes Easily To Baseball.

First of all, zillion games a season, even fans lose interest when they play 5 days in a week. It's on TV every day, midweek, weekend.bothing sacred or cool about it.When I see the background, fans either eat hot dog, drink beer or take a nap. Most fans go there just as a picnic or to talk with each other, not to see anything exciting, because deep inside they know it's boring as hell

Teams play each other many times in baseball, that's another reason. For instance in NFL,only 16 games a season and they play twice, but in baseball

Guys spitting, snoring, farting.playing with their cap, jersey for before throwing a ball is not a way of sports entertainment to me.It even looks gross to be honest.3-4 hours of torture

Baseball teams give bobbleheads, giveaways etc to attract fans yet still cant,in NBA,NFL,euro soccer people are drawn to stadiums every game day, mostly sold out.

Yes,I have been to Giants games many times and in Boston I was going to Fenway Park and witnessed Yankees-Red Sox,so I know the sport, most rules but it's just the way it is,boring as hell.

Baseball isnt even a team sport,it boils down to batter vs pitcher, rest just picks up the garbage.

You can see many non athlete players, fat, lazy, obese, whatever, dont worry, you can still be a baseball player, but you sure cant be playing soccer, football or basketball.

Managers who are 100+ old wearing uniform, eating sunflower seeds, yeah thats the most entertaining sport view

Most players are pussies, the guy catches the ball and misses next game because he hurt his back, give me a friggin break.Other hurts himself while eating doughnut during the game

Not even mentioning how fun the announcers are yet

Nascar is absolute hell. I dont get how people watch the shit. I dont consider it a sport so im going to have to go with soccer. I used to hate watching golf until i started playing it a few years back. When you play you just realize how difficult it is and you gain a whole new respect for it. I still dont mind watching golf and its way down on my list but dont hate it anymore.

I agree 100%. I was invited to go to a live Nascar event in Joliet Illinois & I turned down my friends offer. Watching Nascar live or on TV is something I wouldn't waste 3 seconds on.

The only real reason I'd watch baseball (and I assume a lot of other people feel the same way) is that it's a summer sport when there is nothing else really going on.This year we have the World Cup and there's always tennis,or golf or soccer from the smaller European nations which have summer leagues, but if I didn't bet on baseball I probably wouldn't even bother following the sport.

As for it being the most boring, I'd say cricket or formula 1 would win that award hands down

btw elsewhere, this thread (blog) made the front page of Covers today

It's a tie between Nascar and Soccer...Soccer is brutal, Even with the world cup going on I can't at all get excited about it. Maybe I don't understand it but to me I see guys kicking a ball around back and forth back and forth to end most games in a tie...and lots of games in a 0-0 tie.
wkufan says:
06/13/10 12:44PM
RichardA I completely agree with your comment about baseball. It's a thinking man's game and there's always something going on but you must be somewhat bright to understand and enjoy it. Americans these days are more like zombies and aren't smart enough to understand it, they'd rather play video games and zone out

Ace77 says:
06/13/10 04:43PM
Baseball and Soccer can appear to be boring but thats because both

sports are so hard to play, its almost impossible to score a goal in

soccer and almost impossible to hit the ball in baseball.

Some other sports are much easier to play and  score

MLB between May 1st and August 31st. First few weeks and post season are great but games 25 to 150 suck.

NBA until playoffs begin. Just a boring sport for the most part. Ball goes back and forth up court and shot is either hit or missed. Yawn.

Osirus13 says:
06/13/10 05:16PM
Football= throw ball to reciever, guy gets tackled or drops it. Yawn
Syddigs says:
06/13/10 05:34PM

I don't mind football for the most part because all of the games are important in regards to the playoffs. In saying that, I like to choose the games I watch. If I was forced to watch the Browns, Bucs or Lions over the past 5 years I would hate it also.

In baseball you can lose 75 games and still make the playoffs.

The NBA is even worse and you can lose 50% of your games and still make the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Getty3 says:
06/13/10 05:44PM
soccer. It's very unnatural to watch grown men play a sport in which their hands may as well be tied behind their back. It's equally disturbing that the best offensive weapon on one's body would be the cranium (I believe this is called a "header")

Double Up I knew golf would take a hit here. But what most don't seem to ever mention it is the only sport where the field always changes, the weather conditions change, you need strength and finesse and your seasons is 10 months where you play 4 days in a row every week.If you play like a chump no one sits you on the bench and then still gives you a million dollar paycheck for years, and you pay your own freight. We won't even go into the thousands of different type shots the equipment or the length of the game about 5 hours in a competitive round or that the playbook consists of about 800 rules.

I  agree! At least in Golf you dont have the tighty pants and nut grabs, with butt slapps! <LOL> I played baseball, and was all state, ansd loved it! I played SS, and caught, was a pretty good batter! And loved it, but watching it! Man our baseball Moms and dads loved us bigtyime <LOL>! No actually my Dad played in AA minors and coached me since I was old enough to swing a bat! But nothing like Mr Warpaint that will or is already at the Nats, and forewent High School to go pro, and played in a wooden bat league in Highschool, and 433. slugging %!  We may have had two HOFamers interleague this year and next! WELL, thinking about it simply, If it were not so long and boring, and I watched it, I would feel more comfortable wagering on it?  Peace Guys! PG

I swear to god they cant score. and they cry and bitch about everything! The best part is the coaches running up and down the court and fighting with the refs like they coach for UCONN or something,

Anybody who thinks golf is boring to watch must have never played before. Soccer hands down is the most boring IMO. Soccer will NEVER be big in the US. The Europians like it because they are a bunch of pansy asses who flop to get the refs attention. They call that real football lol. Give me American football any day over that garbage soccer that involves no contact. I know there are some Americans who love soccer but the majority of Americans who watch soccer are only watching it because the rest of the world is watching it and they don't want to feel like they are missing out on something.

I never said baseball was crap because it is non physical. My point was that most people here are into football, hockey & basketball and that if baseball ran concurrently with the football and basketball seasons there would be a lot of people who wouldn't pay as much attention to it.
I just bet baseball because it is outside the soccer basketball & hockey season more the most part but it's still a good game regardless

I don't think there is a sport that's really "too boring" to watch, it's just more of an adjustment of our thought process. As youngsters when we liked a sport and nothing to do but sleep, eat and use the bathroom when we had to that was our life and MOM and DAD took care of everything else, all we did was follow the sport we liked.

But in the last two months I have went through the "thought process adjustment" I mentioned. It now becomes a question of do I want to give up three hours of time to totally focus on a game or just follow it over the Internet here at home while getting other things done. And now the radio now is used even more because with the television you have to give it total undivided attention.

I am sure we can all agree, that playoff games along with whatever gave decides the team to be champions in their respective sport is the game we watch more. Just a thought. Time to go to the sports book and get the NFL futures for the Super Bowl. See ya.

they should play soccer without a goalie. or expand the goal. baseball should go to a 2 strike yer out, 3 ball walk to speed up the game. and back to the 154 game schedule. nascar should put live animals on the track (this probably won't be done). basketball should go to a 6 second shot clock, limit time outs, no blood no foul. and make the hole bigger in golf, about 6 inches wide.
