Tennis picks for week of June 15-21

OK guys last week was a great start to the grass season, here is to making a ton of money in the leadups to Wimbledon.
 
To get us started early here are the first 4 matches
 
Hantuchova over Vinci - 190 now I took at -215,  1075/500
Hantuchova is a good fast court player and one of the most reliable servers in the WTA something few people understand, she will have alot of cheap points early on. For her career she 23-14 on grass and 7-3 in her last 10 on grass, she lost in the 1st round of Roland Garros which is to be expected against Razzano, she didn't play last week so form is unclear, I expect that she is still two classes above Vinci who goes pretty fair on grass as her serve is a good weapon as well, she played last week and won two matches vs Bremond and Osterloh neither of which is much to speak of on this surface. H2H Vinci leads 1-0 from a Carpet match in 2007, pretty much irrelevent. Take Hantuchova to advance here medium stakes, (my strongest bets will be for 1000 FYI)
 
Tamarine Tanasugarn -250 over Barbora Zahlavova Strycova 1250/500
 
Similar situation to Vinci- Sytrycova (15-8 on grass)  has a good serve and has decent record on grass (7-3 in last 10) and played last week but difference is 2-8 for last 10 and Tamarine is only 3-7 in last 10. Tamarine goes much better on grass ( 42-19 and 8-2 last 10)  and faster surfaces as she has a big serve and hits heavy grounders, she doesn't play alot of matches but seems to really shine in faster situations. Last week Strycova beat a clay courter and was handled by Czink, where Tamarine beat big serving Julie Coin and lost a tough match to up and commer in Cavaday.
 
Tamarine for medium stakes to win 500 for me..
 
The two early mens matches are worth passing, I lean towards dogs with recent form and history in
 
Petzschner +130 vs Chardy who he beat Chardy early this year is 2-0 vs Chardy and Chardy lost in 1st round last week where Petzschner and his good serve beat Verdasco before losing to Oliver Rochus who made final. I usually support Chardy and his big serve and expect he will win tomorrow despite everything going towards Petzschner. That is why this is a no Play, odds not overly strong either way  50/50 match- my advice is to stay away
 
Koellerer will most likely beat Hernandez but at -108- personal opinion but I will pass. Two clay guys go at it not worth my money

Hey guys I didn't lay Petzschner, Crivoi, nor Santoro, Lu, or

 

Scratching early lean on Crivoi ,Lu and Santoro over kendrick- neither worth a play

 

Mayer has a good serve but more of dirtballer against a real out of form Schwank no play for me at -210 for Mayer.

 

No play on Minar and Ferrer will win but way to high of odds

Here is a list of my plays and writeups that I will copy into the Cover's tennis forum as well.

 

OK well after a promising 1st day, Lets take a look at the card for Tuesday.

 

After researching tonights card the following are my early plays along with writeups:

 

Michael Llodra over Kristof Vliegen- 290- this is a max bet for me- to 2900 win 1000.

Llodra is a classic serve and volley guy, big serve and heavy ground stroke not to mention left handed for which Vliegen is 21-18 against in his career of his 18 loses one was to Llodra back in 2007 in 3set indoors on carpet, doesn't mean much given time. This should Vliegen is only 13-17 on grass 5-5 in last 10 not a good record when facing a guy who is 37-19 for his career on grass but 5-5 in last 10. Vliegen has decent serve and can hit some shots with above power on ground strokes, he is prone to alot of unforced errors though. That should be enough to sway this match.

 

Youhzny -300 over Benneteau- Max bet to win 1000- Youhzny is in great form making the quarters last week in Queens losing to impressive Blake, Youhzny is 3-0 vs Benny most recent was last year. Benny is 6-4 in last 10 losing in 2nd round to Karlovic in 3 last week, not a bad showing but 11-16 and (4-6 in last 10) on grass isn't inspiring where Youhzny is 35-22 (7-3 in last 10) on grass seems pretty clear here that this is a max bet at these odds.

 

Baggy -150 over Robredo- Baggy 2-0 H2H and 32-15 on grass vs Robredo who is 22-16 5-5 last 10 on grass. expect baggy to bounce back with big service game and to route Robredo at every turn. Max Bet after hanging tough with Youhzny , Robredo will be making grass debut.

 

Cibulkova -290 over Dechy- Max bet to win 1000. Cibulkova playing very well lately. Not alot of history on grass, she has played only 3 matches in which she is 0-3 but she is a better mover and server then opponent Dechy who is only 20-16 on grass and is 5-5 in last 10 on grass. There is a big discrepency is quality of player that will be seen tomorrow. Max Bet here.

 

Bartoli -270 over Dulko- Bartoli 2-0 on H2H on Hard Courts, Her big serve gives her huge leg up on grass where she is 27-18 and 6-4 in last 10 on grass. Dulko is only 15-13 and 5-5 in last 10 on grass. Dulko is much more of clay courter and not nearly as many weapons. Bartoli rolls here. Max bet to win a dime

 

Krajicek -230 over Barrios- Head 2 head 1-1, but Krajicek is a big server and powerful returner especially for a wta. Barrios just beat Vesnina who is out of form while Krajicek just bear Errani in straight. Krajicek is 19-13 on grass where Barrios 9-5, expect a tough match but Krajicek to come through. Medium Stakes to win 500.

 

 

Santoro -140 for me tomorrow over out of shape Ginepri- I think Santoro has enough left in the tank to take out a player who is 2-8 in last 10 and is just over a .500 grass court record. Though latest head 2 head was 3 years ago Santoro beat Ginepri with retirement in 2nd set in s-Hertogenbosch. Santoro is 2-0 vs Ginepri though the record is too old to matter. Santoro has a nice serve and creates a lot of angles on his returns that make it hard for long rallies, Ginepri when fit has a good serve and good return game- he lost to Seppi in 3 last week and beat Golubev 6-3 6-4 in the opener where as Santoro took out Kendrick in straight 6-3 6-2 and lost to Tsonga last week7-5 6-2. Look for the Magician to come through vs Ginepri- whom I don't believe to be fit enough to beat him. This is a medium stakes bet to win 500. 700/500 at 5dimes.

 

GGL -450 over Lu- this is a pretty easy decision as Lu is not in great form and has to be out of shape I expect GGL who is playing great and possess a nice big serve to roll Lu small Stakes 1125/250 just do to the juice being laid.....this is a very confident bet though- 450 is too high for a Max Bet though.

 

Gicquel -380 takes out Navarro- Navarro 3-7 in last 10 on grass where Gicquel is 7-3 in last 10 on grass and just took out Darcis who played well last week. Expect Gicquel big serve and heavy groundies to out last dirtballer Navarro who does possess a good  serve. Few unforced errors will be key. Gicquel is a medium bet to win 500.

 

Best for Parlay picks

Tipsarevic -500 will beat Klein tomorrow- Tips just beat PHM in the 1st round this week which shows he is over his straight set lose to Mahut , who goes pretty good on Grass. Tips is very agile, big serve and heavy grounder, if he keep unforced errors down this could be done in under an hour. Klein seems to be young upstart who cost me my only betting lose today in Gabshievelli- an error hitting machine.  Run ends here, I suggest high stakes in parlay since value not there with high vig.

 

Ljubcic over Goodall- 750 for parlays only- Ljubcic is 23-21 on grass and 5-5 in last 10 the thing is he beat Seppi in Straights this tourney, a good grass player his form is coming around expect Ljubcic to take out a player that is two levels below him in Goodall who is 33-29 in grass events but mostly challenger level. Bet this only in parlays and not all in.

 

There seems to be alot of high favorites that I would layoff even in parlays just because the form of there opponent on grass can give them trouble. Most likely Favorites will win but dogs aren't priced right for me to take them with any confidence. Look at this as a guide of where to stay away from and preserve capital for better matches then as to take a "gamble" on a dog that most likely loses.

 

Verdasco -550 over Becker- Verdasco has had an awesome all around season, he lost last week to Petzschner on grass in 3 sets,   though he beat Andujar 6-3 7-5  to open play in this tourney, I expect he can very well beat Becker being 2-0 lifetime once earlier this year in Miami, but for me especially at these odds I will  STAY AWAY as Becker is more then capable of alot of free points with his serve and he is on the roll of a lifetime the last 5 or 6 tourneys. MY ADVICE STAY AWAY,

 

Caroline Wozniacki -380 probably beats Alisa Kleybanova but for me its a stay away match since Alisa Kleybanova is a good server and capable of upset.

 

Rybarkova / Alona Bonderanko- could go either way- staying away

 

Li -410 over Baltacha- Li made finals last week so this automatically takes her off my list of plays for 1st round just like Rybarkova do to possibility of let down after last week.

 

 Andreev vs Dancevic-another to stay away from due to Dancevic having big serve and capable of beating a number of people on surface, Andreev has good serve and all around game most likely to win but staying away from

 

Jankovic over Chakvetadze-not any value here

No value in Svetlana or Azaranka.

I usually lay the juice because in a worst case situation I figure I will hit a high percentage and turn a decent profit. Yesterday the only play I lost was Gabshievelli, but I bet him the biggest largely to waking up late. So instead of 5k profit I made 2k in tennis yesterday morning. To answer the na-sayers I bet big on some matches 12800/10,000 on Angels last night, 5000/5900 on Milwuakee, I use 5dimes and theGreek, just watch 5dimes and ML plays because retirements can burn you. I don't parlay just because I prefer straight bets but I do If-Win only bets on pending plays known as Rolling If-Bets. One of my favorite books for MLB and tennis is bookmaker because you can do like 7 if bets off one wager and 2H MLB totals in game and MLs. Awesome for taking Under in 2H of games.....alright guys Youhzny is melting down and costing me 3200. I didn't get as much on GGL as  I like since overnight lines are only to win 250 at thegreek and 5dimes the head guy Tony bumped me to double limits. I hate how how long it takes to withdraw a ton of dough

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys, I think that if there are enough of us to make this forum a bit more engaging (although maybe i should just shut up, tail gtmoney and count that )   we can all start grinding up profits...

Elsewhere... personally I almost NEVER play a  handicap in tennis...for me, its hard enough to pick the winners, let alone if they will cover a certain number of games lol

gtmoney...if you are doing straight moneylines for tennis, have you put some money on matchbook??? There, all you have to do is get someone to match your amount, and you will be golden..no one can "limit" your account, as your playing against other people...although the markets may not be big enough for your liking.... also do you have an email address, i wanted to ask you a couple of questions...

AND WOW on the Milwaukee game, I had 1k on the other side, so I guess i'm glad SOMEONE got paid out of my misery!!!!!

Where are these huge bets posted on covers? I am not seeing anything regarding baseball from the past 2 weeks and am not seeing any tennis bet of $10,000 posted.

 

The guy has a good record but is playing alot of chalky plays. Also you need to start posting official plays. Reading this thread you have alot of leans and its difficult to decipher whether or not you are playing them or not.

 

I hope what you say is true and I hope you continue to do well. I would recommend using units instead of dollars for system tracking. Keep an accurate record and drop the drama and everything will be easy for you

I would ne cautious with the Bakker play. Bakker won this match up on clay a few weeks prior to the

French Open.  He also won junior Wimbledon in 2006 and has served

his apprenticeship on the future and challenger circuits since that

victory, he could possibly have been awarded a wildcard here but has

qualified and registered a final set come from behind win over Phau in

the first round. shuettler has won two of his three matches on

grass so far this year and that represents  a small upturn in

form for the German who had won just one of his previous ten matches

prior to the grass season. Neither players first round stats look

particularly good from a service point of view, de Bakker dropped his

serve four times and Schuettler three although the German did play a

set less although is 12 years older. Although Schuettler's grass form of last year is far superior

to anything de Bakker has achieved to date it is difficult to get too

excited about the German given his general results this year. Home

advantage should count in favour of de Bakker.

This seems a bit unnecessary.  The guy had a real nice day yesterday and I'm pretty sure he did well last week on grass,  so he has some struggles today, but increased his wager on one of his declared strong plays on Llodra.  Hes' posting all his picks, sharing detailed writeups and infromation and just who the heck are you and what's your contribution?

Hey Guys had a pretty decent day all and all went 2-0-1 with Petrova being a push at the Greek and  lose at 5dimes, Schuettler and Dancevic coming through on the big plays. On to Thursday's card, I am not sure what it is but I really like the WTA side, a few mens matches but alot more on the mens side I warn those to stay away.

 

First off the Big Money Matches tomorrow

 

Marion Bartoli -300 over Anabel Medina Garrigues- Bartoli is 3-0 H2H but last match in 2006 . Bartoli took out upstart Chakvetadze in straights as well as Dulko and looked good in the process getting 68% of 1st serves in and 62% win on 1st serve. When her serve is on Bartoli can play very well, she moves pretty well for someone her size and has good power off the ground. AMG is more of an all court player but more suited for clay, her serve is ok at best she relys on long rallys and with this being grass its more likely Bartoli's power and style of play will get her through this round. BIG BET, to win 1000 3000/1000.

Aleksandra Wozniak over Dushevina- 125 ML - this will be a double  MAX bet for me 2500/2000.

Wozniak is just on a roll with wins overs Zhang and Kutznetsova, Dushevina should be gone but do to injury or some freak incident with Petrova she retired after being up a set. Wozniak is a big server for a wta player, she will own Dushevina on her serve and should be able to get atleast 1 break each set of Dushevina. Expect a straight set win for Alexsandra.

 

Yanina Wickmayer -235 over Barrois- Wickmayer will roll up Barrios in straight sets, to me yet another double MAX Bet- Wickmayer goes great on grass nice serve and volley-typical of good indoor, grass, and hardcourt players. Barrios is no pushover but Wickmayer style will force Barrios to the wings and force her to go for more on her shots, Barrios is not what I consider to be a pure ball striker.  4700/2000.

 

Sela over Sluiter-165 ML this match is playing into some unknowns, Sela is a decent server but is a bit undersize, the guy is a pure fighter though, he will be taking on a decent server in Sluiter but Sluiter has really not played much or against anyone in a full match, Tarver is a class below Sela and Baggy retired in 1st set. Expect sela in 3. medium bet 825 to win 500.

 

Llodra over Becker -160- Expect Becker will be out after this round but this match has alot of potential to go over total games whatever it is up to 25.  medium bet on big serving lefty 800/500.

 

Other matches I like but will stay away from:

 

Tipsarevic over GGL, Tursunov over Istomin, Santoro over Ljubicic, Mayer over Dancevic, Chardy over Rainer, Ferrer over Navarro, Radwanska over Razzano, Tanasugam over Pennetta, Schiavone over Govortsova.  Just not enough interest in any of these matches

Ok guys well 8-4 yesterday down pretty good on the day per posted plays, I missed a few plays getting up late. I wound up about 1700 down today, had an awesome night in MLB up close 30k on night with LAA 10k bet, 3k on TB, and 10K risked for 17.7k on Toronto. Anyway on to the card this morning. There will be some chalk and alot of plays to avoid IMO.

 

Dancevic over Ward- 430 ML- I know alot of chalk and not for the faint of heart but at 7-3 in last 10 on grass and having just taken out Andreev I see no chance for Ward who is 6-9 on grass and just beat Crivoi -a dirtballer for his entire career. Dancevic has a huge serve and has had some monster scalps on fast surfaces. Dancevic is a max bet I will be laying 4300/1000 at 5dimes when the line becomes uncircled tonight.

 

Petrova -300 over Dushevina- 3000/1000- MAX BET

Petrova is 27-11 on grass 8-2 on last 10, Dushevina 18-11, 6-4 in last 10. Petrova is a much better mover then Dushevina who's biggest weapon is her serve when its working. Fresh off a defeat of Ivonovic  Petrova is riding a high and expect her to continue to play well over Dushevina on Grass.  Dushevina came through qualies and defeated nice players in South and AI but is taking a step up in Petrova who hold 1-0 H2H but from 3 years ago so not relavent. Expect Petrova to win big. MAX BET

 

Rainer Schuettler over Bakker- 155 ML - Rainer made the Semi's of Wimbly last year, he is a good grass player, has serve and volley game to stay with the likes of Bakker. Only H2H was on clay which Bakker took in straights. Rainer is a grass/hard court guy all begining with his serve and keeping Unforced Errors down. I expect a win here. Phau looked like he would take out Bakker but faltered in the 3rd. Rainer wins this possibly in Tie-Breaks.  Rainer to win 1550/1000.

 

Stosur over Wozniacki-130 - this match is really close but I feel that Stosur will win this match as her serve and agressive play will rule the day on Grass. She beat Lisicki in straights, this is a good sign going against the higher rate Wozniacki who on occasion will drop a service game. Expect Stosur to pull out a win here. Small stakes to win 250 325/250.

 

Chardy -415 over Dick Norman- Dick has yet to drop a set against inferrior competition and goes pretty good on grass with 24-20 record and 7-3 in last 10 but chardy is going to be way more the Norman has seen in a while. His big serve and volley game will be able to get him through to the next round. Chardy is 4-4 on grass and only due to limited exposure this is a medium stakes bet to win 500 instead of 1000. 2075/500 on Chardy

 

Hantuchova -205 over K. Bonderanko- Hantuchova 24-14 on grass 7-3 in last 10 but K. Bonderanko is 8-2 in last 10 on grass and 13-7 on grass but with recent struggles vs weak serve of Flipkens taking her to 3 I expect Hantuchova to own her after taking out Vinci who serves well and is a good grass player at times in straights. this is a medium bet  1025/500.

 

Parlay only Plays due to the Chalk

 

Baggy -725 over Sluiter- huge miss match Baggy goes great on grass and will destroy Sluiter most likely in straight sets, Handicapps would also be good bets here.

 

Dementieva over Razzano- 415- feel pretty confident Dementieva will win this match where she plays well on grass and this is not Razzano's favorite surface just 3-7 in last 10 and just 15-13 for career on grass.  Dementieva likes this surface alot more and if she controls the DF's she will be able to hold serve and contain heavy grounders of Razzano.

 

Safina -1500 over Shevdova- Shevdova is pretty much all serve, expect Safina to roll her as she is on fire and will challenge for Wimbledon this year.

 

Querrey -515 over Istomin- Querrey has a big serve and volley game that will carry him to a win. Istomin has a big serve but not much else. Expect straight sets win but will take only in Parlay do to Chalk.

 

Matches that are questionable and staying AWAY FROM BUT LEAN TO WHO WINS

 

Bartoli over Anna Chakvetadze- leaving this one alone got a funny feeling Chakvetadze could be turning corner.  Stay away

 

Zhang over Wozniak- similar to Bartoli match-funny feeling coming off big upset in Wozniak over Svetlana. Stay away

 

Bonderanko over Schiavone- stay away this can go either way but feel this may be the result. Series tied 2-2 tough match against Foretz winning in 3 but is 28-14 on grass, Schiavone is 13-13 but took out big serve julie coin with ease. Stay away.

 

Ferrer over Oscar Hernandez- to much chalk and small chance for upset by Oscar but really think Ferrer wins but will stay away. NO Play stay away

 

Tursonov over Bogdonovic- the fact it took 3 sets to beat Fognini for Tursonov I will stay away even though Bogdonovic is 1-0 H2H on grass 3 years ago......STAY AWAY...

Becker over Schuettler- 160 ML - HUGE PLAY

Becker is on fire he will give Schuettler fits on the return of serve and he is practically unbreakable at time when his serve is working. Rainer on the other hand is all serve. Becker just beat him in 3 at Halle but being in Germany was like a home win. Expect a straight setter Becker for 2 dimes 3200/2000.

 

Santoro over Dancevic -162

Santoro is a good matchup, better serve and volley type player where is Dancevic relys heavily on his serve. expect Santoro to win in 3. Santoro is 2-0 including 1-0 on grass, the last of which being in 2007. Expect Santoro to be able to break Dancevic and he has a good enough serve to keep Dancevic at bay. Santoro Big bet, win 1 dimes 1620/1000.

 

Bartoli over Razzano -178

Bartoli 2-0 last year vs Razzano, again a Huge 2 dime bet. Bartoli has the serfe and heavy ground strokes to give Razzano fits. Expect Bartoli to roll in 2.

 

Wickmayer over Schiavone -211

Wickmayer has yet to drop a set and really enjoys playing on grass, Schiavone is a solid server and seems to do just enough to get things done. Wickmayer will get through in straights. Large bet for 1 dime.

 

Laying of Sluiter Navarro and GGL Tursunov . To much juice to back Caroline Wozniacki  or Safina both of whom should win.

all and all down about 3000 on posted plays 8-4  for the day, I veried my wagers a little do to books stopping me from getting a few wagers in so I wound up down personally about 1400. On the same note my record for the last week and half on posted plays has generated a significant return. anyone who cares to know let me know. I don't keep track of my records. This post is to help those uninformed on picks and lay things in perspective of my 4 loses today 3 came in the 3rd set with a break coming right before the winner served it out. ok well Baggy, Wickmayer Santoro,Ljubcic, Bartoli, (Woznaicki and Chekvadadze won but I didn't play) GGL came through, Krajicek,Cibulkova (crashed at the end like Youhzny), Youhzny , Gicquel all shit the bed in 3 sets except for Krajicek lost in 2, so far 6-3 on the day but alot of juice lost on Cibulkova and Youhzny. Tips should come through, Llodra still pending I am actually going to double my bet on him after further research this will be my biggest bet of the day.

Youhzny was on serve and got broken for set, he only was winnnig around 50% of 1st and 2nd serves. I feel it along with the rest of you guys that cost me 3200, some of my smaller medium plays are iffy at the moment Krajick is down a set, Santoro is up a break, GGL up a set, Gicquel was down 2 breaks down just 1.....so we will see got another huge bet on Llodra...I may throw another dime on it once I see how everything else plays out. Well unfortunately I have to wait as the rest of my money is tied up in matchbook, betjam and current plays....but i believe gtmoney, i was able to turn 500 into 23k in about 5 weeks at this exact time LAST year... I was ALSO able to then turn 23k into 4k in about a week thanks to the NBA finals hahaha (damn you lakers!!!! I was 1 year too early!!!!)

I put 1k on Llorada at -275 on matchbook...hopefully will get someone to match it, although the market looks completely DEAD
