Alabama (-11): I don't expect this to be close to the spread... Penn St isn't the same as the last couple of years, and will struggle to score any point on offense... might start to look like a scrimmage at some point... prediction: Bama 42-10
Ohio St (-9.5): another mismatch for the home team... OSU defense and the hostile environment will be too much for Miami, who will most likely commit a couple of turnovers... think OSU makes a big statement in this game... prediction: OSU 35-13
Michigan (+4.5): just love getting this many points in this game... Michigan will be in this game to the end, like they always are in this matchup... anything more than 3 points just seems charitable... spread offense will cause problems for ND, and should be a high scoring game: Mich 31-28
Texas (-28): tough to bet on Texas after their dismal performance, but I think that score could have been a lot more one-sided, if not for a late 1H miracle TD and a meaningless last minute 4th Q TD... also, the Horns had a sure pick 6 dropped in the first half... also think the off-the-field tragedy for Wyoming will be tough to overcome in such a short time... prediction: Tx 52-14
Tx Tech (-24): this is a bet against New Mexico as much as anything... Lobos may be the worst team in CFB this year, with very few returners to an already bad team... they mustered no offense (and many TOs) against Oregon last week, and should provide the cure for some Tx Tech defense woes... Tech likes to run up the score when they get a chance... prediction: TT 45-14

Mich St -28....Owls 1-8-1 ATS lately on nonconference road and could be content to get upset win at UAB
Auburn -2...although improved, Bulldogs still have to prove they can win in the conference going 3-5 straight up over last 2 yrs
Texas -28...after flat showing against Rice, expect Brown to have Horns ready to play, Cowboys have trouble scoring on the road
Ole Miss -19.5...Nutt should have Ole Miss ready to play after losing to Jacksonville St, not a strong home field for Tulane lately
NC State +5...favor the points in toss up matchup where NCS should be able to match pts against questionable UCF secondary
