First week of college football 09 and feels great. I use BetJamica as my main sportsbook and that is where my lines will come from on the blog. I look at the lines on Monday when I start the research and follow them until I make my picks on Thursday nights (90%). I choose Thursday's for my bet night for a couple of reasons. 1. True injury reports in most of the time 2. You can see the lines move a small amount. Which usually indicates the smart or inside money. Friday and Saturday line movements are huge puplic do not follow money. 3. Going along the thoughts of number 2, lines are still decent before they move big time on Friday nights and may save your azz on several bets a year.

I Bet units of $100 and it is a 1-3 scale. Will keep totals in following blogs. I will not put stats for the games or article thoughts that I have read in the bets section below because of time and you can find that here or other great resources yourself. Just quick thought of the game on some....    Now on to my picks.

Sat. 9/5/2009

1.  Texas 1st half  -24.5   (2 units)            UL Monroe at Texas / 12:00pm

Texas will move the ball at will and score, that is until Mack pulls the starters out in the second half and garbage time is upon us. Don't fall for the easy entire game bet like I did back when Ricky Williams was there and Cedric Benson was there on opening day. They may cover the entire spread but don't take the ulcer when easy money is out for the taking...

2. Parlay (2 teamer)        Penn St. -26.5/ Minnisota 6.5  (2 units)                      Akron at Penn State / 12:00pm                     Minnesota at Syracuse /12:00pm

I would consider these my two favorite bets of the day and decided to parlay them.

3.   Alabama  -6.5    (1unit)          Virginia Tech at Alabama / 8:00pm

This will start out as a defensive struggle as they both have great defense but the athletes and endurance of Alabama will raise its nasty head middle to late third quarter.  Alabama will start to pull away I think close to two touchdowns. VT having to come to a hostile SEC with Saban in control.....

Sunday 9/6/09

1.  Mississippi -17    (1 unit)            Mississippi at Memphis  3:30pm

leans but no plays

Stanford -17        Nebraska -21.5        LSU -17.5        Wisconsin -16.5
