i have to say its the kings..they own one of the best pk's in the nhl..they are effective on the pp..they win the low scoring games..they can win the high scoring ones..and dont you dare go to a shootout with them..you stand no chance..quick is filthy..and when he needs a night off..bernier isnt too shabby...

i actually thought the blues would be the best team before the season started..i told my buddies that adding halak was what they needed..blues were a great 1st and 2nd period team last year but blew the leads late.i thought adding halak wud negate this meltdown..i was right..but who is better than the kings?

does anyone not agree with me?

P-R-E-D-A-T-O-R-S  The league brass have a soft spot for them and they will go far.  I wouldn't be surprised if Atlanta goes further than anyone expects.  That Gary is so craftyI wish i can wager everything i own that the Leafs wont even make the playoffs.  I would take any odds on this....any odds

Yep.  Their first and only cup appearance.  They would have taken that series if it wasn't for the McSorley stick incident followed by Jon Leclair being clearly in the crease for the tying goal in game 2.

(I'm still bitter)

I dont agree totally - I mean, definitely the Kings are either the best or second best. And the West is a tougher conference, which bolsters your point. I think I would have to give them a tie with the Bruins - equally amazing D, solid offense and TWO goalies red hot so there never really is a 'night off' for the opposing team ... let's see where both are come January ... other mentions have to include the Flyers and the Caps (questionable D or not, they are monsters) ...

Cheers man,

Canucks are the team to beat in the West. Everyone knows it...but doesn't want to admit it.

Don't know if I agree but how would the Kings stack up if they were in the Eastern Conference? East IMO has better, tougher teams. I would agree that the Kings and Red Wings are tops in the West. But he Pacific division isn't quite the Central. But for NOW, the Kings are looking great. +15 goal differential is amongst only 3 double digits in the West.

Frolov free and not looking back.

Kings or Red Wings.   They are about the equivalent right now of Oregon and Auburn in college football.

I've always considered the Kings my # 2 but had to forego following sports for a few years after moving to Cali just to get myself rooted into my new area.

I'd love to see em win a Cup. But not at the expense of My # 1 Flyers if they were to meet. That would be an awesome series though.

Everytime I watch the playoffs from that year again... I still can't believe how lucky the Habs were to beat LA and Gretzky. Those Kings were a very special bunch. They had some really good teams before also but just have been snakebitten when it come to the playoffs.

Go Flyers and Kings

How lucky the Habs..........

Lest we for get how the Flyers got by the Bruins last years' playoffs. Down 3-0 in the series, down 3-0 in game 4 in the 2nd period. I still can't believe how lucky the Flyers were to get out of the first round.
