College Ball is my gig (even though I suck although I was 62% this year) but I do follow the NFL and rarely bet big on pro games. None the less, I am amazed at the lack of threads pushing Pittsburgh in this pro football forum.
That said, I'm pushing 50 years of age and have seen every Super Bowl ever played and I remember my share of blowouts in the big game. I truly believe we have the makings of another on Sunday.
Why? Big pro games like this one always come down to defense. Let's look at the Steeler defensive stats:
Total Defense: Rank #1
Pts. Allowed: Rank #1
Rushing D Rank #2
Passing D Rank #1
Sag Rating #1
Strength of Schedule: 5th (Cards 27th)
As a true degenerate, I simply cannot ignore what is listed above.
I remember the Steelers last championship came because they rushed the hell out of the QB's they faced. They will come up the middle at Warner and I believe he will be very uncomfortable due to not being able to step up into a pocket. If he strays to the sideline to get time, he is dead meat.
Edge can forget it. He won't be able to do anything with these guys. They used to kick his ass when he was a Colt and they will again.
In short, if the Steeler's D holds the Cards to their league-leading average of 13.9 pts. per game. . . . . It's over.
The Cards have had a great run but it ends Sunday. Black and gold by DD's IMHO.
