Air Force -21/2

Bowl picks  1-1

Pro 1-0 ( KC -3 hook)

Today rookie Tim Tebow in his 2nd start led the Broncos to victory in Elway esque fashion

Trailing 17-0 at half Tebow led the Brocos on 4 scoring drives culminating in a 6 yard scramble for the winning TD that erased a 23-17 Texans lead.

The team ralied behind Tebow's leadership and never say die attitude. He finished with 308 yards passing and another 27 rushing. 2TD ( 1 pass 1 run )

I hope this ends the naysayers who think Tebow cannot play at this level

I welcome comments by my fellow cappers

I wonder who your Avatar is !

McDaniels made some huge mistakes but drafting Tebow in the first round was not one of them

I'm a Gator fan but don't dislike FSU or the Canes.

As a transplant to Florida I have trouble with fans that hate other Florida schools

Being a Temple grad I will be pulling for Golden at Miami

Don't like the hiring of Addazio at Temple

Tebow did bring them back.......but he has alot to prove still yet.

Houston's defense is very suspect.

Will be interesting to see how he does. I was one that said he would not make it as NFL QB.

Tree

This is a ROOKIE in his 2nd start. To rally a team from a 17-0 halftime deficit says volumes about his leadership

I argued with a National sportscaster from CBS and a local SW florida sportscaster for his first year and a 1/4 at Florida and all I got was he throws funny and wait until he plays an SEC team and then he exploded against Tenn in his 3rd game in his soph year and went on to win the Heisman

He is a leader and a winner

Tebows a winner and if u hate on him and say hes no good your the true definition of a HATER period

Why is it that some people have a full on hatred for this kid? No one has ever been able to give me a decent and semi-intelligent answer as to why they hate him.

I would think that there are a lot more college and pro footballers that deserve a shitload more scorn and hatred than this guy, yet Tebow seems to be a lightning rod for many peoples hate. In the end it must just come down to the old fave, i.e jealousy.

Sydigs  you bring up some very good points

Some hate because he wears his religion on his sleeve, I am Agnostic but love this young man. He goes to the Phillipines every year and does missionary work, he visits prisons and tries to help inmates

Some hate because he seems to good to be true, but having followed him for 5 years I feel he is very sincere

Some sportswriters and broadcaster are always picking him a part because of his throwing motion . In college he has the highest QB rating of all time and that didn't even include his running stats

He has that star quality of a Jordan or Tiger. He is a wimmer

Tim T hasn't done shit in the NFL....seriously, a win against the texans in week 15 so what. Time will tell what he has. I personally think he is NOT nfll caliber...but that is just my opinion.

I would LOVE to take his bible and smack im in the head and say GOD does not give a flying F*&% about your team or any other nfl team so quite giving praise to god for everything achieved in football

Alien-1 says:

cannot stand that bible thumper

Allen 1 is one of the main reasons why some are haters

There was a kid with a terrible illness that was brought to the attention of a secretary at Florida, they invited the kid down and tebow took it upom himself to take the kid around and introduce him to all the players

I can see why there are so many haters and in most cases I would nornally agree with them , BUT not in the case of Tom Tebow

When his career is over I see tebow being a minister or some type of motivational speaket

Thereb should be motr Tim tebow's in sports

jordyn- I am not a Florida fan, but I am pulling for Tebow to make it in the pros. Maybe people think he is putting up a show about his belief system but he does seem sincere. Not everyone is a hater- wasn't his jersey the top selling Bronco jersey by far? Also, I think a lot casual fans would turn in to see him.
Humblepie says:

Personally, I think Tebow is an asset to any team, company, ministry or whatever the hell else he decides to pursue. I too could never get the "hate" for the guy. I believe that most people just like to "think" they're "supposed" to not like the guy because of his religious beliefs. As if thats the cool thing to do. When in fact, it simply defines them as lemmings. I would agree that this game isn't the game to define whether or not he'll be a good qb, but the contempt I never got nor never will.
Syddigs says:
12/26/10 11:14PM

There are millions of people out there who hate, and not just dislike but truly hate this kid but I have yet to hear any valid reasons for their hatred.

I am not a religious person but his religious zeal does not bother me.

I don't care what college he went to. All I know is that he is one of the best college footballers of his generation. Even if you don't like him the fact that he was a 3 time Heisman Trophy finalist will trump any argument that he was not one of the best players of his generation. He is no longer in college so any hatred based on loyalty to your college can stop. As a wise man once said " it's time to let it go and move on ".

While everyone might have been blowing him in college, there have been more people doubting him as an NFL QB, so the haters can no longer cry that he is being over-hyped.

I would just for once like to hear some valid reasons why people hate this guy so much.
Rebel479 says:

I do not hate him, however I can think of one valid reason some people might "hate" him for.  I hate the word hate btw lol  But I do know during the superbowl he was a part of a commercial whose affiliation was anti gay.  And that they changed the commercial because of it.  Also the group that made the commercial was very open about their dislike of the gay community.  So for him to make a commercial with a group like that either shows poor judgment or his true beliefs.

I for one could care less either way and think he makes for an interesting story going forward.

Oakster  Yes Tebow has sold more NFL jersys than any other rookie in the history of the NFL. Denver is a very liberal area , yet they love this young man. He also has sponsors lined up by the score like Jockey ( which will launch a big campaign for him )

He also has lost sponsors because of his beliefs

Bottom line he will be a very rich young man and I would bet he will give millions away to charities . He donates a portion to his charatable foundation for every autograph he signs

There are many more who admore him than hate him

PhiTau-NOLES says:
12/26/10 11:29PM
I personally hate him because he's a gator, which are all nasty filthy people...jk, but i hate the gators
Syddigs says:
12/26/10 11:42PM

There's a valid reason, but something tells me that the haters in this forum aren't hating him for his spot in that ad. But fair point nonetheless.

I started this thread to talk about the great performance tiday by Tim Tebow and I can't believe some of the comments by some cappers

Can't we talk about his playing ability and stay away from all this other nonsens. I stated that I am agnostic and not into religion but we are gamblers who pick games so why all this stuff about his beliefs !

Tell me if you think he will make a good NFL QB. I don't care if he is anti abortion and did an AD

I'm also an Eagle fan who is thrilled with Michael Vick and the way he is playing, not about his problems before. He spent 2 years in prison and has paid the price

Let's keep this on a FOOTBALL level not a personal level

PhiTau-NOLES says:

Personally dont get why you would make a thread about tebow, as if ESPN isnt and hasnt talked about this OVER,AND OVER, AND OVER..
jordyn31 says:
12/27/10 12:13AM

I started the thread as I have been a fan of his since his first Spring game at Florida, and I was thrilled at the comeback he lead today in his second  start as a pro

I have been in the minority that thought he would make it as a pro QB and was just happy at his performance

The commercial was a pro-life one, not anti-gay. There was a big stink made by pro-choice groups. It was a very non-contraversial piece. It was just Tebow's mom talking about how when she was pregnant with him, a lab test showed that he had some type of disease and doctors recommended an abortion. She chose not to and look how great of a kid he turned out to be.

Thanks AG you expressed it perfectly and it cost Tebow millions in endorsements !!
jordyn31 says:
12/27/10 05:58PM

After 2 complete games Tebow has a QB rating of 101

There are only 4 QB with a rating over 100 , Brady , Rivers, Vick and Rodgers

The highest Rookie QB rating is Big Ben at 98 (2004)

Tebow will start in the final game next week
