How obvious was this last year that edinson volquez would need surgery within 2 years? well less than a year and he ruins the kids arm like he did with wood and prior.. this guy is the epitome of garbage manager. I wish there were future wagers on these things...would be easy money....130+ pitches last year several times in hopes of getting a possible win as your team is in the cellar.....what a joke

29 of Cincinnati's last 31 losses have come by more than one run.  No doubt more than a few of Dusty's inspired late inning managerial moves have resulted in insurance runs for the other team.

the beginning of the end for volquez was last year in may when baker let volquez pitch 3 innings of relief in a 16 inning game in san diego, only 2 days after he started. i remember it clear as day cuz volquez started a friday nite game in sd and then on sunday the reds and padres had a 16 inning game where rusty let volquez pitch in relief. baker is by far the worst manager in all of baseball and i will never understand why any gm would ever hire him to lead their ballclub, especially a club with so much young talent as the reds have. this volquez will never be the same as his early dominance from last year and we all have dusty baker to thank because of his pure ignorance.

papsmear, this team's been taking sucking up to another level.  The Reds are strictly non-competitive over the last month and a half.  The only way they can win is if the other team simply doesn't show up.

This is a team that went to Dodger Stadium two weeks ago and failed to cover the +1.5 runline three nights in a row against a Dodger team that's 6-30 at home against the RL in their last 36 home games (excluding the three against the Reds).  I think that's damning proof of their current death spiral suckitude.  Further proof is their weekend performance against the Rockies, in which they made the oddsmakers look like fools by losing every game by more than one run.  Have I mentioned that 29 of Cincinnati's last 31 losses have come by more than one run?

Reds suck and will always suck until they spend some money.

Cubs8-2 tonight.

i agree with what u say, but whatever i havent seen this much hate for the reds the whole season.  Doesnt seem like anyone is willing to put money on the reds so i might.  They have been shitty i agree with that.  But they got a capable pitcher going tonight. They jsut ended their last losing streak at 6 games.  i think they do the same tonight. how many games can u really lose at home.  -140 on the cubs on the road with their 22-29 road record is not a good bet. the run line obviously like you point out is a good bet.  also probably a really nice spot to hedge the cubs rl -1.5+134 against the cinci ml +131.  as based on the 29 out of 31 stat you will have over a 95% chance of walking a away with a 0.3 unit win and less than 5% chance of losing 2 units.  but im definitely leaning cinci with all this hate.

and my only bets this weekend were the Rockies on the Rl and just when I thought i had taken them one too many times I get a gift from the great Garrett Atkins
