Jim Caldwell screwed his team by......

Being super conservative before half.

He tries to run the clock out. Why the hell did you do that?  They have been aggresive all season and you have the best qb in the game. Pure stupidty. I understand run to get out of your endzone but you still had 2 minutes to do damage. The momentum went into half with NO even after being stuffed at the 1. NO played the game to win!!

Indy played not to lose.

Congrats to the N.O Saints!!! They deserve it.

Finally.... Thank you for pointing out how bad coaching can really be!  Even though I am little ole H.S football coach who calls a offense for a Sophmore Level team. Here you have a team in the Colts, with Chad Simpson, did he return a kick all year?? I dont think he did. So... I know you have a special teams coach, and yes he has his responsibilities. But lets face it, you have 1 priority during a kickoff. Make sure Peyton Manning gets the ball back in his hands, so A) Dont fumble, B) Make sure on the front line that the ball gets kicked deep! If KOR is not a strong point of your team, you would hope you do wahtever you can in a game of that magnitude, not to screw it up!!

Second.... You get the ball back with a 1:40 or so in the first half with 3 T.O or 2 T.O???  Where is your belief in what some may say is the best QB of all time?? If your gonna risk punting the ball away anyways with time on the clock before the half, why not risk it with the arm that has carried you sinse day 1??  Chicken Shit! On top of that, if you are gonna run the ball on 3 and 1, Addai should be your man?? He was getting it done!  Why go away from whats workin!!

Third.... When you are winning 17-16, with the ball on 2nd and 12 on the 34... As a OC, I am asking my head coach if he is considering a FG at this point to go up 4, or do I have 3 downs considering we just went for it on 4th and 3 at the 43 or so. With that in mind, on 2nd down or even on 3rd down you have to communicate your thoughts and maybe cut the down and distance in half, instead they take 2 shots down the field and leave a 51 yard attempt.

RESULTS.... A LOSS!!

Its still not as bad as CHILDRESS' debacle in the NFC Championship game, but thats another topic!!  How some of these men are not analyzed more on how bad they really can be, is shocking!!! Caldwell..... Your as bad as LOVIE and the BUMB in MINNESOTA!!

Congrats Mr. Sean Payton!!!!

[Qup by 4 pts wouldn't help their cause either.

Garcon's dropped pass...

the Onside kick...

the missed 51 yd FG...

Manning int...

i agree... all of these were the turning points in the game... more importantly... the fact that the Colts had 4 of these kind of plays against them, and not one in their favor... is what did them in...

all cards landed in the Saints favor... whether it was a fix or not, who knows... doesn't matter, because you just can't win when all the breaks go the other way...

to me, the Garcon dropped pass was the play of the game... i even felt that way when i saw it... if he catches that the Saints were seriously up shit creek... Colts were just dominating the game to that point, and it was going to get worse...

dropped wide open pass and everything changed... it gave life to a team that desperately needed it...

not for Bret's int., Saints wouldn't even be in the SB.  there are many turning points.  Dallas beats NO, Vikes thump Dallas then give the game to Saints.  Saints then upset Manning and the mighty Colts.  Weird game.  every one thought it would be high scoring, it went under.  congrats to Who Dat Nation!!!!!

Caldwell was a huge factor in my wager.  People forget that Dungy is gone and had a LOT to do with the Colts winning the SB.

On a side note now Dungy looks like a total douche with his Colts by a blowout comment.

Colts also had only 8 possessions. 8! They avg 12. Credit to the Saints for keeping them off the field, but when each possession counts you don't throw one of them away like Caldwell did.

Jim caldwell screwed his team or Peyton did? B/c Peyton called those plays just before the half, not Caldwell...

Peyton is 9-9 for his career in the playoffs.... be careful before you blame Caldwell for the loss

Drew Brees didn't throw the ball down field, the safties for both teams were 24 yds off the line of scrimmage, get your facts together lil guy.

Help me understand why it should be obvious, when you have the best QB in the game??? OBVIOUS???????? Nothing should be obvious!!!!!!

I think its defintely the coach.  all in  all  the  colts  played conservative  and unimaginative.  it  looked  like   it  was gonna be a winning gameplan even towards the  end because the  colts  woulda  tied the  ball game and  had  a  reasonable  chance to  win.

I think  this is  how  they  played  all their  games this  year.  Get ahead, play conservative,  if the  other  team scores, Colts  usually came  back  witha  quick  , effective  drive  that  usually resulted in a TD.   But , in this  case,  the  one  mistake  , the  INT  put  the  game away.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

that's exactly what i thought...all the other "game changing" factors might (prob) not happened if he caught that ball...huge play...my heart hit the ground quicker than that ball did...i knew that would be huge...that catch could have led up to a 17-0 score...or he could have caught it and fumbled...no one will ever know...

what we do know and agree on is caldwell sux balls...how about an emotion there pal...f'in stiff

you guys are too much.  This game is not about how colts lost but how the saints won. Every single game has it's turning points and yes it can be argued that the colts should have been less conservative w/ play calling 2 min before the half w/ play calling or the garcon drop or the onsides kick not recovered by Baskett blah blah blah.. Saints drove the field and shredded colts defense and executed a perfect gameplan by Payton by limiting Colts possessions which is the blueprint for taking them down and deserve the trophy hands down!

The Garcon drop is not a big play sorry guys your wrong. Here's why.........................

remember, Brees hit Colston who was wide open for a first down on a 3rd down play and Colston dropped it, oh yea those 2 drops cancell each other guys.

That drop is what led to the Colts getting a 10 point lead, had he not dropped that pass who knows what happens, maybe Saints score and take the lead 7-3.

You can't bring up the Garcon drop without also mentioning the Colston drop, they both helped the opposing team.

You act like all of these things point towards pure luck by the saints, but come on.. Stover had less than a 50% chance of making that kick, the guy is 42 and hit 1 of 4 from 50+ this year.  Payton made a great call going for that onside kick, NOBODY saw that coming.  And the manning INT, the saints baited him right into that.  Saints showed blitzed and the saints KNEW a wayne slant was coming, the colts have been doing that for years, and porter jumped it and made a great play. These are the things that win you football games.  And the colts were on their own 2 yard line, so obviously caldwell was gunna play it safe.

That was a good call to run out the clock the Colts were suppose to get the ball back had they recovered the ball they would be champs. That was a good move. Bottom line Payton Manning lost the game. The colts said all week that they could not settle for FGs the first drive that is what they get. that is were they lost trying to run the fucking ball in the red zone that where they played conservative.

what was he suppose too do throw the ball from his own one yard line ???.. gimme a break .. the coaching didnt throw a late gam interception that put it out of reach and didnt convert on 4th down inside the 5 at the end of the game .. its not the coaches fault manning calls 90% of the plays anyways .. gimme a break bud .. i hate when people blame the coach its the PLAYERS who play not the fucking coach .. they got out played .. brees was more solid then manning and he DIDNT turn the ball over .. bottom line.. and i dont even like new orleans thats just the facts ..
