The Detroit Lions were the best bet this season

If you bet on my Lions (which i did going against the number one rule in betting don't bet with your heart) you made some money with them going an amazing 12-4 against the spread.  Watch out for my boys next year.  If they can pick up in either the draft or through free agency one more huge offensive lineman and a real good quick corner they will be real tough to beat.  Should have finished this year with a better record considering they were ripped off in a couple of games and just did not have the killer instict in a few games late.  No matter they will be a team to be reckoned with next year for sure.

Heard one of the sports annoucers on ESPN this morning say that the Vikings lost yesterday to the lowly Lions.  Obviously hasn't seen them play this year.  Heck they had one less win than one of the teams going to the playoffs that being the SEACHICKENS who by the way will get their lunch handed to them next week.  My Lions would give the Saints a better game.

Look forward to see a good lions team next year esp if they get a stud in the draft

Lions are improving but there's one problem.

They are in the same division as the Packers who will be the Super Bowl favorite next year again and are going to be loaded with talent and will more than likely have better luck with injuries.

10-6 and in the playoffs with 7 starters out for the year means VERY DEEP ROSTER.   Probably deepest in the NFL.

So good luck chasing that Wild Card berth next season.

Would that be the same Packers team we beat 7-3 two weeks ago and beat their QB in submission.

Whether they pick up a stud in the draft or like i said Mr Ford opens the purse strings  and picks up a couple more free agents which he just might now that he sees the team going in the right direction.  Also more players will now want to play for the Lions as they become more of a contender.

They won about as many games as I expected, but they surprised me in a few areas where they played very well.  They still need a secondary, either free agency or draft.  QB spot is rocky since Stafford can't stay healthy and it's still unknown how good or bad he is.

GB and Chicago are still better, but I see the Lions improving to 8 or 9 wins next year.

The other thing don't talk to me about injuries our number 1 QB was out for 3/5ths of the season and we had more injuries than Carters has little liver pills.   The Lions are all done being patsies and you will see next year just how much.  They have just as much if not more offensive talent than any team in the league including the Packers.   Another good draft this year and a few free agents to fill in like i said at the corner postions and offensive line and watch out.

I totally agree man. Our lions finished 6-10, but it easily could have been 8-8 or better, and for the first time since Barry, I think they have a legitimate chance at the playoffs next year. Minnesota is going to suck next year, so that is another possible 1 or 2 wins, we have not been able to get in the past. Also we haven't played the NFC West in a while, if we play them next year, we should go 3-1 or possibly (but unlikely) 4-0.

Couple of rip off games or it would have been 8-8 this year.  I see an 11 or 12 win season next year.

I can't wait till next year.  I watched every Lions game this year and we are so close come on draft and free agents.

Good luck with that.    You still don't have a quarterback.    Stafford has proven nothing and Aaron Rodgers is on the brink of being the best QB in the NFL if he isn't already.    When Troy Aikman and Steve Young are gushing over Aaron Rodgers all the time ,  it might mean he's pretty damn good.

And secondly,   I'm usually not a homer but I know the Packers roster inside and out and believe me,   their Defense is going to be the  best in the NFL next year hands down.    Guys you never heard of like Mike Neal on the DLine and we get Johnny Jolly back from suspension who was one of our better D-Linemen two years ago to add to what we already have on the D-Line.  BJ Raji is improving rapidly.   We are loaded at linebacker.    Morgan Burnett at safety was out all year.   Sam Shields is improving rapidly at Nickel back.

The Packers D is going to be lights out next year.    And on offense we get Jermichael Finley and Ryan Grant back next year, two huge losses this year.    Plus hopefully some more help on the O-Line from another draft and improvement from the young O-Line we currently have.

Good luck to your Lions cause you're going to need it guy.

And like I said,  I almost never brag about the Packers on here,  I try to be unbiased but I am VERY excited about next year even if they win the whole thing this year which is a possibility.

I guess we will just have to wait till next year.  All the defense you talked about is no good if you can't score pts and you only managed 3 against us two weeks ago.  And don't give me the shit that we knocked out Rodgers we will just do the same thing next year.  Our defense has improved ten fold also.  But like i said we will have to wait until next year.  By the way your team will win one game in the playoffs this year maybe.  They were lucky to win yesterday to even get in the playoffs could only produce one TD late thats how good Rodgers is.   See ya next year and like i said i can't wait.

Yeah your right, we are very close. I'm a seasons ticket holder. Can't wait until next year, Ford Field is going to be rocking like never before.

If you are from Canada you must live in Windsor to have seasons tickets.  I lived in Sarnia for 22 years.  Went there to play JR hockey and stayed on to play some Senior.  Became a huge fan of both the TIgers and LIons and saw many games at the Silverdome and there was no one nicer to watch than Barry Sanders.  Its nice to see us finally come out of the cast of being  the "LOWLY LIONS" and into the contender roll and we will contend next year for sure.  I can't believe i am going to say this but i have never been inside Ford Field.  Looked at it quite a few times from across the street watching the Tigers but never inside.  I guarantee you one thing i will be there next year.  GO LIONS

Your from Sarnia? That....is the weirdest thing ever haha, I also live in Sarnia.

Also a big fan of the Tigers, hoping for a big year from them too, I will be surprised if they don't win their division this year.

Looks like a 12-2 or a 13-3 year to me.  We may have trouble with NO and maybe Atlanta and possibly another up and coming team in Oakland.

There might not even be a next year.  Lock-out.

Lions fans are the most ridiculous.  They put up with incompetence for decades, an owner who doesn't care about winning, and then they win a couple of games and all is forgiven and they are going 12-2 (what? that's only 14 games) or 13-3.

HAHAHAHAHA.

Have to be deluded to be a Lions fan.  Ford must serve great Flavor-Aid.

Uhhh, they're getting better but let's keep it real.  10 would be HUGE improvement.

That's a pretty tough out-of-div away.  NO should still be good, TB is up & coming, Dal should rebound under Garrett, Den tough place most yr, Oak got nasty fans. Was hoping something easier for 3rd place schedule.

Hill is very capable back-up (steal for 7th-rd pick swap and another reason for SF fans to be mad considering their QB situation this yr) but Stafford need to play for team to step up.

Nothing's forgiven just forgetful.  You know  what i sat in the stands many many times at the Silverdome and felt sorry for players like Barry Sanders for the club he had to play for.   And its not just the 4 in a row at the end of this season.  Its the fact that they are at least competitive now and should have won a few more even this year e.g. the first Chicago game was the biggest rip off that was definetly a TD and the Jets they had by the throat and then took their hands off and let them up.  Even Thanksgiving jumped out to a huge lead over NE and then went into a shell.  They just need two or three more great players get the killer instinct and they will be tough to beat.  This is the best Lions team i can remember since i became a fan in the late 60's.  Once again everything is not FORGIVEN i was always pissed at the Fords for not opening the purse strings and bringing in more help.  Barry wanted to win in Detroit.  He quit for the very reason they would not bring in some more talented players.  But you notice even though he could have played a few more years he did not go to any other team.  Win or Lose i have never been a fair weather fan i have stuck by my favourite pro teams my Boston Bruins, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and NBA i don't really give a shit about.  The Lions will roar in 2011 like i have said come on draft and a couple of more really good free agents.  Can't wait for the draft and free agency.  Come on man open up those purse strings Mr Ford.  Too bad Mr Ilitch didn't own this team he can smell a winner and is willing to spend some bucks to make his team better.
