Golf is so boring but atleast you could say it is the only sport where I guy could go over 2 decades without winning a major and then at 59 win one.  Unfortunately, the ugly bald bastard who is a ringer for Jigsaw from the SAW movies ruined everything.  Golf is not a sport.  I would rather watch 2 gay men get it on than watch anymore golf after today.  Good job ruining golf you bald loser Cink and you choke artist boozehound Watson.

Lots of people play tennis for recreation. I'm sure Tiger Woods plays tennis for fun once in a while.

 

Lots of people play golf for recreation. Yes, Nadal does play golf for recreation.

 

But... which one is more of a sport?

Its not the track the driver really worries about.

 

Take 2 laps around a cambered track at 105 MPH and you'll get my point.

 

Then take a few more laps in the midst of 30 other cars fighting for pole position. Its not as easy as it looks.

 

Although i don't classify NASCAR and golf as a sport, those 2 things still require a high level of concentration to excel. I can probably include bowling also, but... jeez.

 

To me, a legit sport requires year round conditioning.

 

In tennis, you're automatically conditioned because the ATP and WTA tour is a year long cycle. You can say the same about golf as the golf circuit takes place all over the world just like tennis. But... come on.

What a dumb ass argument, if you don't appreciate the game don't watch or comment. If you consider the money alone and that golf is one of the only sports that if you don't perform you don't get paid, no huge contracts out of college for those who look like they may be good.The practice time for golfers to keep their skills up is far more than any other sport and many more hours are spent alone with out the crowds cheering and fans stroking you it is a soletary game untill tournament time which is about 10% of a players play if you are in the top 100.If you ranked higher maybe 5% of the rounds you play and the time you spend is actually in competition. No one cheers you on the range or the putting green and no one pays you to spend hours on a practice court.

OK. HOW ABOUT LESS THAN 1/4 OF 1% OF ALL THE PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES IN THE WORLD MIGHT BE ABLE TO BREAK 80 ON A REAL GOLF COURSE!  I WOULD CALL THAT ACCURATE ENOUGH! 

BUT I WOULD BET THAT A VERY LARGE % OF THEM COULD DRIVE A CAR AROUND A TRACK FAST, THROW A BALL FAR, RUN FAST, KNOCK YOU OUT, BOWL 200, SERVE AN ACE, RETURN A SERVE, CATCH A FAST BALL, HIT A FAST BALL, STOP A SLAPSHOT, DUNK A BASKETBALL, RUN FAST, RUN FAR, TACKLE A FAST RUNNER, AVOID A TACKLE, ETC.... 

WHAT DO YOU THINK?  EXCELLENT I THINK!
