Week 1 -(Opening Night Picks + Write Ups) (New Thread)

It's been awhile since I've posted on covers, finally we get to watch something other than baseball, More importantly it's time to make some money because last year was so-so compared to previous! So I'll start you off with a few predictions early on!

OPENING NIGHT:

Marshall @ Ohio State -(16) 1H--

Buckeyes riding tall and large with national title aspirations after a big Rose Bowl win over the Ducks. There ranking is at #2 for a reason, and I see them living up to the hype. Expect them to come out gunning with Hesiman Trophy candiate TP doing what he does best. Not to mention a top 10 defense in the country if not better. The Buckeyes apply early heat in front of the home crowd, then Tressell slows down the pace in the 2nd half with a potential backdoor cover looming.

Nothern Illinois +4.5 @ Iowa St--

Public jumping all over the Cyclones with over 75 percent of the action on the home team. Typical bettor move going with the BCS school over a lessor known MAC squad. With 11 returning starters on defense, and solid RB and returning quarterback I think there going to do just fine. I don't care how big Iowa St's line is compared to NIU (see Utah, Alabama Sugar Bowl 2008). NIU will be able to stop the run and Ill take my chances with the Cyclones passing attack. Anyways the public will keep pounding this and we can get this line to 5.5.

Southern Miss +14.5 @ USC--

Both strong defenses will be on display here, ... [More]

3 Huge Plays This Week

Arizona (-1.5) @ Cal: Cal is without the star of their team Jahvid Best, and I don't think they can score without him. Cal is not a very good team with him plain and simple. Cal has been shredded all year on the ground, and with Arizona's strong offense coming to town I don't expect anything different. Arizona is sneaking up on people, and should be noticed on top of the Pac 10 right now. Arizona should take this 31-20.

Indiana + 26 @ Penn State: Indiana is a very talented team who has been on the short end of a couple games this year including at Michigan, at Iowa, and at Wisconsin. They have battled all year, and are a solid football team. The line is at a ridiculous 26 points I find this hard to believe considering Penn State's highest scoring game this season besides a 52-10 non-conference game is 35. I don't know if the oddmakers are assuming Indiana won't score, but I can assure you this won't be the case. Penn State isn't an elite team this year and has been exposed the big games they have played in. Penn State 31 Indiana 14

Stanford (+11.5) @ USC- Already locked Stanford in for this game. We all took note of Stanford's game against Oregon last week. Stanford is a very solid team both passing with Andrew Luck and Toby Gerhart on the ground. USC has been exposed on the ground this year in games against Oregon State and Oregon. I think Stanford will control the clock, and put up a strong fight as the continually do in games against the Trojan... [More]

Michigan State @ Minnesota: Big Money

Hey everyone I'm sure all of you saw Minnesota's star receiver Eric Decker go down for the season, I think this could mean big money with the play on a solid Michigan State team -3. Let me know if you have any thoughts. As well as Ohio State -44 against NMSU. Could be big winners. Ohio State's two top running backs are out, and they're an average offensive team who haven't even scored 44 points all season.
