No wagers on Sunday but here's Saturdays losing thread with play on the Warriors:
Monday's action so far is:
Rockets @ Wizards over 188 for 20 units... I generally hate betting on over's but since the NBA has recently been in quite the scoring rut lately there will start to be over bet's that are going to hold value. Especially regarding teams that play bad defense such as tonight's game between the Rockets whom are allowing 98.6ppg & 46.4% FG & the Wizards whom are allowing 96.8ppg & 44.9% FG. With the Rockets allowing the 27th leagues worst defense in regards to FG % thtotal on this game has been set low based on one thing. The public perception on the Wizards offense which currently ranks last in the NBA @ 84,6ppg. Only 3 Rocket games have stayed below the total of 190 in regulation play this season (vsHawks 95-84, @Bobcats 82-70 & @Spurs 90-90ot). The Rockets other 9 games played out to an average of 199ppg with 4 of them exceeding the 200 mark. Most of these results can be linked back to the Rockets willingness to push the tempo as they are currently the NBA's #1 team with shots per game @ 85.5. This is good news because the undisciplined style that the Wizards are currently sporting has them just 5 slots behind the Rockets in this same category ranking 6th with 83.1 shots per game. I really love the fact that we have a total set below 190 with 2 styles of play that say their should be many shots along with 2 defenses that are bad enough to make one puke. Very strong play on the over in a game where the Rockets haven't seen a total set this low all season as 8 of their 12 games have seen totals of 196 or higher. This is also interesting knowing that the Wizards last x games they have been played against defenses ranked as follows; 2nd, 2nd, 1st, 7th, 11th, 14th, 10th, 8th, 8th, 17th, 6th & 28th . Hell thats a lineup of team defenses good enough to make a lot of teams struggle let alone a very young team such as the Wizards. It seems rather clear the the result of their offense out put is in direct relation to this schedule played thus far because there is talent on the Wizards team and what better way to get a vision of it with the leagues highest shots per game team and the leagues 26th ranked defense in town(Rockets)...POD
