My Take On the Whole Poker Situation

Even though everyone thinks this is a huge step backwards it really isn't.

I believe the govt will open the doors to online poker and want a clean sheet to make sure the new sites are a success.

They will probably grant licenses to the major casino operators and deny licenses to those that have federal indictments in their applications.  Hint Hint

By legalizing it without punishing those that did not obey the law you essentially rewarded these companies for not playing by the book, and punished those that did and pulled out of the US market.

Now that the US wants to start fresh this is the only way to do it.  I just hope those casino's that get the license actually run a legit poker room.

It's gone and if they figure out a way for you to play from US, odds of them being able to pay you are nil. It once took UB 2 months to pay me. Poker Stars was set up so nice and easy.

If they ever were going to legalize it they had to first punish those companies that were breaking the law.

As far as the govt seizing everyone money, it aint going to happen. Sure the govt can and has the right to but no way would they. Everyone will get their money back.

Everyone is forgetting the law was established and these companies flipped the bird to the govt.

Many other legit responsible companies pulled out.

Sorry man you obviously haven't done any research on what youre saying. Several payment processors over the last several years were shut down and millions of dollars of US player money from sites was seized by the government and never returned.

I'm with pezeveng.

This genie is out of the bottle. There are so many poker bills out there that within a couple of years half the population of USA will be allowed to play anyway.

If the govt didn't act now, these companies will have gotten away with it, and Uncle Sam cant allow that.

During the netteller arrests everyone eventually got their money back.  I don't know of the smaller ones but the netteller one I guarantee they did.

Do you honestly think the govt is going to confiscate these funds?

Not being a dick just wondering what your take is.

just as I said.

With the new laws taking shape Americans will be playing legally in no time.
