The Texas Rangers OVER 75. Here is why.
The lineup
1st baseman- Cris Davis. This guy can mash. He will hit 30 homers easy. His average should come down in his second season and I expect him to have a great first half and an average second half. ALA Josh Hamilton
2nd baseman-
Ian Kingsler IMO the best offenseive 2nd baseman in baseball. If he stays healthy he could very well be a 2-40 guy. He has speed power and can hit for average. He will score 120 runs in his offense.
SS- It apears the SS gig will go to long time prospect
Elvis Andrus. a slap hitter who is quick and will also steal 40 bases. He could hit arond 280. They say he can hit 15 homers when he gains experience. I say hope 5 this season and 35 steals.
3rd baseman-
Mike Young. You get what you get. 15-20 homers a decent average and 10 steals.
LF-
David Murphy. Another guy who will do it all. 20 homers 80 rbi and could steal you about 10 bases. Good defender. Guys like this are perfect cheap pieces to a division winner
CF-
Josh Hamilton. I see a 40 homers season. Nuff said.
RF-
Nelson Cruz. A Late bloomer. But this guy can hit too. Can he pop 25? I say yes and maybe 30. His minor league stats say so.
C-
Saltamatachhia/Teagarden Both can hit. Teagarden is a better game caller they say. I like em both. The other could be a DH when HAnk Blaylock gets hurt again and again.
SP
Here is the problem they suck
SP- Kevin Millwood- Prety pathetic for an ace. But the guy can burn some innings. His experience will be a help down the stretch. I hope he can lower his ERA to the mid 4's and that alone will get him 15 wins.
2) Vincente Padilla. I really believe this guy has a big year in him.He can keep his team in games but I wish he can give ya more as a number 2. Hope for the same as Millwood.
3) Matt Harrison- They have to do better than this. The need to. They have him listed as the # 3 starter. He cant strike out a 5 years old. I expect Harrison to be out of the rotation within two months or 8 starts,
4) Jason Jennings- Obviously write last year off. They need a big year from the former ROY. If he can give them 13-15 wins and an ERA under 5.
5 Mcarthy. He was supposed to be a great SP. He is ok at best and this is the year he must prove himself. He could end up as the number 2 guy or another SP flop. I say he can keep his ERa in the low 4's and kick in 13 wins.
The bullpen. Boy this pen wil be over worked with a capitol O.
But they got the horse to do so. Steady Eddie will be just fine as a specialist. Keep him for a batter or two and you will ok. I really like the addidtion of Turnbrow. Perfect 8th inning guy. CJ Wilson who could also close can pitch the 7th 8th or 9th. Thery have three power arms in the pen. Wilson IMO is a perfect 7th inning guy. To lead up to Benoit. Another fireballer. He should K one and inning. Fransico is a good like RP. Not sure about the closer idea but he does have neasty shit.
So. With a STRONG Oen I hope the SP can at least keep this team in the games. I really think they have a shot at the division. It will be tough but with the best lineup in baseball (not even debatable) They will win alot of 10-7 games and WILL score the most runs in the AL. Possible MLB. IMO it all rests on the PEn. The SP is going to suck. And suck bad but they have a few guys on the farm who could make a difference.
SP Neftali Perez. The 20-year-old finished the regular season with a 10-6, 2.69 mark in
17 Clinton starts and 10 Frisco starts, limiting opponents to a .201
batting average, striking out nearly 11 batters per nine innings — the
best starting pitcher rate in all of the minors — inducing more
groundouts than flyouts, and surrendering only three home runs all
season.
Derek Holland- His three-level record in his first full season was 13-1, 2.27 — not
counting his two-hit, one-run victory in 7.1 innings in last night’s
Texas League playoff opener — with more strikeouts than innings
pitched, just over two walks per nine innings, three home runs allowed,
and a .209 opponents’ average. He was more dominant in Class AA than at
his two Class A stops, and he’s only 21. Exciting.
Also as I mentioned HAnk Blaylock will DH but another great thing bout Texas is thier bench. It pretty damn deep. Andruw Jones. Metcalf/Bryd/Borbon/Boggs this team will win over 75 games. Maybe the division. Thats my story and im sticking to it.
Just like the last two years ill let you bash the shit out of this thread.
GO!
(I also like the Reds but someone already grabbed them. But what the fuck is with SF winning over 80? How in the world will SF win over 80 games. Thats thier over under and wow thats screaming under. Vegas wants you to take the under so bad I may take the over. )
