Are the Houston Rockets clinically insane?

Let's go over what has transpired with this team's point guards since the beginning of the season.
The Rockets cut Jeremy Lin to bring in Samuel Dalembert. (Count -1 PG)

Made a little sense since they had two very good ones in Lowry and Dragic.

On draft night they traded Dalembert for some spare parts on the Bucks roster to move from the 14th pick to the 12th pick. (What you cut Lin for, a player who is now a mini-star, is now gone.)

Yesterday, they let Goran Dragic sign with the Suns and got nothing. (keeping count you are down to one point guard in Lowry and -2PG's).

Today, they traded Lowry to the Raptors for a conditional future first rounder and Gary Forbes??? (That's THREE PG's who are either in their early or mid-twenties that are emerging and all would be highly coveted by other teams as their contracts speak to that are gone as of today!)

To make matters worse, they then go and offer a heavily backloaded contract to the guy they cut at the beginning of the season in Lin, with the Knicks having a 0% of not matching.

The Rockets likely starting point guard next season after they lost three very, very good emerging young ones in one year: A broken Shaun Livingston!!!??

Holy SHIT! What the hell just happened to this team!!!

Who here is a Rockets fan that would put up with this shit!? They just gutted one of the most talented young spots in the league in one year!

Uhh..the Rox traded Spanoulis to San Antonio for Louis Scola. Spanoulis has yet to play for an NBA team since the trade. Rox made out like bandits on that trade.

You're right, they've won so many more playoff games with Scola than they would have with Spanoulis. I can almost hear San Antonio crying.

The rockets gm is a moron. This is well established.

Morey's first couple years as the GM seemed pretty good and he made some very good moves for the Rockets.  Since then, it seems the guy has went off a cliff and doesn't seem like he really has a plan at all.

there's no way the Knicks will match the Jeremy Lin offer sheet... they already have Jason Kidd and Baron Davis as their point guards

Not sure whats going on in Houston. Now they are reportedly involved in Howard talks as rather a destination of facilitator of a trade, maybe even netting Bynum. All three of those PGs may be coveted guys but they are not elite and thus overpaying them, is not the best way to construct a team. Right now they are not making the playoffs.

Hey Jackholes, pull your head out of your asses. The Rockets have been stuck in the NBA middle forever, they're trying to get bad or get a superstar, anything in between is failure. Morey is the best GM in the league, but you need a little luck to to get one or two of the 10 game changers in the world. 24 of 30 teams are no better or worse than the Rox. It's a league based on Superstars, we've already dominated in overachieving.

Chance that they will get Lin but didn't they pick up Machado from Iona as free agent? I liked that guy was surprised nobody drafted him. I read that Suns didn't match Aaron Brooks contract. could that be a fit.

Morey just got rid of a forward though.

His star forward with a really solid contract by amnestying Luis Scola.

All with no guarantees of any kind from Howard or Bynum who both want no part of that city.

It's amazing what he did to this team. He just jettisoned a really solid forward for NOTHING.

So now we have the following players off the team in a year and half:

What did Morey get in return to replace all of those in the end?

A conditional #1 from the Raptors, Gary Forbes, Jerome Jordan, Toney Douglas and Josh Harrelson.

I'm not making that up!

Houston considering amnestying Scola

To clear the books for Dwight Howard

Will their leadership screw up --- amnesty Scola

then get no deal done with the "trigger-cautious" magic management?

Houston will then become a casualty of the dwightmare sweepstakes.

Hopefully, Houston management will proceed with caution before amnestying a solid player like Scola

dragic and lowry were both fantastic. paying lin, who will prove to be too brittle for the nba, will demote the rockets to a second tier team. moray obviously has zero plan! excellent point scalbrine. next thing you know moray will sign brian scalabrine to a big contract.
