I haven't posted picks with a write-ups since last year during the NFL playoffs.  I miss making picks and have people rip them apart, its a good for of constructive criticism.  So far this season I have been doing well, so hopefully this continues and I can share my wisdom with others.  Now for the Week 3 NFL Picks.

San Fran -7
The 49ers have been my sweetheart team of this young season.  This has been the 3rd year in a row I have had them marked as a sleeper team.  The difference is this year they have the right man lighting the fire in Coach Mike Singeltary.  Frank Gore has shown signs of resurgence as a dominant back.  For the reputation of such a stout rush defense, the Vikings have not looked quite at dominant this season.  The Vikings are a highly hyped on team, and keep in mind have been trailing at halftime to both the Browns and Lions.  These teams both do there best to find ways to lose, but this 49ers team is not an easy out.  MLB Patrick Willis is one of the best in the business, and should be relentless in his pursuit of Adrian Peterson.  Until Brett Favre shows he is still capable of taking a game over, rather than manage it, I can't trust myself to back him against a team I believe to be legitimate.  I'll take the 49ers getting 7, and would not be surprised if they won outright.

Houston -3.5
This Jaguars team might be one of the worst teams in the NFL, and would not be surprised if Coach Jack Del Rio is fired by the midway point through the season.  After seeing the blocked FG returned for a TD by the Cardinals, it became obvious to me this team has given up on Del Rio.  Last year Fred Taylor was quoted as saying he had never been on a team with such poor chemistry.  Last years meeting in Houston the Jags had no answer for Andre Johnson, and if Steve Slaton is going to return to last year performance this would be the time to start.

Chicago +1
Speaking of returning to last years performance, Matt Forte must be salivating watching the tape of Frank Gore last week against Seattle.  After playing Pittsburgh last week, the Seattle run D should look like Swiss cheese in his eyes.  The Bears have still been solid on, and most likely Seattle will have Seneca Wallace as  a starting QB.  I'm not so sold on Julius Jones being able to keep the chains moving in this game.  As long as Jay Cutler remembers what color his guys Jersey is the Bears should be able to muscle this one out.

Carolina +9
I have a hard time not taking 9 points from Tony Romo right now, especially when Marion Barber figures to be a shell of himself if he does play.  Of course this does mean I have to take Jake Delhomme, which is also a scary proposition.  Delhomme played well last week, throwing his only INT when it was 4th and 10 at the end of the game.  However, after watching the poor mans Steve Smith and Mario Manningham get open at will on this secondary, I can only wonder what to expect from the real Steve Smith.  I can also see DeAngelo Williams busting out a big run or two against the Dallas D.

Best of Luck to all.  Feedback Always Appreciated.
