NFL future odds, notably we are looking at NFL Team Win Totals, at online sportsbooks hit the board sometime back in May. If you didn’t buy in then, don’t worry, there’s still time to get in your future bets. Smart bettors make sure to get the best numbers possible. It’s important to check the numbers when you’re betting on the NFL.
Betting futures at your online sportsbook through the long, hot days of summer is a good distraction from baseball betting. It takes America’s pastime to the next level. NFL preseason football started with the Hall of Fame game between Tennessee and Buffalo and since then football betting has climbed right back to the top of the gambling chain where it belongs.
Betting activity on Season Win Totals (SWT) hit a new high this year and offshore oddsmakers have had to stay on their toes, adjusting odds daily to keep the balance. Even football bettors that don’t normally make Over/Under bets were poking around and sportsbook managers say it just shows how popular gambling on the sport has become.
If you’re one of the people still on the fence about betting futures, here’s a guideline to which NFL teams have seen the most movement since May. We’ve split the teams into four categories: Up, down, bi-polar, and buy now!
Up
Atlanta Falcons: Matt Ryan had one of the best rookie seasons ever, Michael Turner is a stud, the Falcons made a playoff appearance, and the team’s preseason has been wrinkle free. Take your pick; it all a...

NFL Betting: Bets On Preseason Football:
With less than two weeks left until the NFL sports betting hits full
stride, take advantage of the time to prepare a winning strategy.
At betrepublic,
we provide sports bettors with betting strategies they can use all
year. Let’s a have a look at a few key sports betting tips that can
help you
NFL Gambling
- For anyone that bets on preseason football, the final two weeks of
August have felt like anything but dog days. NFL games being played on
four, even five days per week. Odds for NCAA football games already
popping up at your online sportsbook, (courtesy of the good people in
Las Vegas), and then there’s baseball. As if keeping up with the
demands of a winning bankroll in baseball weren’t tough enough already.
If it’s been starting to bog you down, relax. Take a timeout and consider a couple things before making your next bet.
Fall
has always been considered a sports bettors paradise. Baseball will be
into the post-season, basketball joins the mix and football games will
actually count to the players, not just the people betting them. What
you do between now and the hardcore betting season could have a major
impact on how your account perform... [More]

Thursday Night NFL Preseason Games:
Week three on the preseason schedule kicks off Thursday night with
three games. This is the big week in preseason football, as the
starters playing for a full half with some players going deep into the
third quarter.
BetRepublic
looks at the games in their Thursday Night sports betting TV show, as
well TV hosts Sonny Palermo and Greg Dempson talked college football
and NFL picks in the Wednesday night Betting Show.
The feature game of the night is the Jacksonville Jaguars facing the Eagles in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia: - 7 ½
Over/Under: 37
Michael
Vick is the story. He will be seeing action and word is it will be with
the first team offense. There is a lot of speculation on just how Head
Coach Andy Reid will use Vick throughout the season, as Donovan McNabb
is a lock as the starting quarterback. Vick could be either the number
two or three quarterback on the roster but is too much of a unique
athlete to hold a clipboard all season.
The
three-time Pro Bowl quarterback hasn't played in an NFL game since
December 31, 2006. Against the Jaguars he will be re... [More]

With the addition of Brett Favre to the Minnesota Vikings the entire landscape of the NFC North division has changed. Does that mean the NFL betting conditions for win totals have also changed? Here’s a rundown of all four teams in the division and their win totals.
We might as well start with the Vikings, who the oddsmakers have posted with a win total of nine. Nine might seem low, and maybe it is since OVER is a -160 favorite on the NFL betting odds. Minnesota won 10 games last season with Gus Frerotte and Tarvaris Jackson sharing the snaps. They should be able to better that, or at least match it, with Favre calling the shots. The addition of offensive dynamo Percy Harvin also adds another aspect to the offense, which should give Favre more options and running back Adrian Peterson more room to run.
Also clocking in with a total of nine wins are the Green Bay Packers. That actually seems higher than it should be for a team that won only six games last season. That’s been taken care of, though, with the UNDER being listed as a -140 favorite on the
NFL betting odds. You can’t blame Green Bay’s awful season last year on QB Aaron Rodgers. He actually played well in his first season as starter, but the defense crumbled around him at times. A defense that includes names like A.J. Hawk, Charles Woodson, Aaron Kampman, and Al Harris should bounce back, so ma...

UFC 102 Odds and Picks:
A fight in UFC 102: Couture vs. Nogueira that holds a lot of interest
for me is the Brandon Vera vs. Krzysztof Soszynski match-up.
This
is a light heavyweight fight that will solidly place one of these
fighters on the track towards the title. While Vera looked like he was
on his way in the heavyweight division once, he eventually dropped
weight to light heavyweight.
He
was expected to start chewing up competition. So far, he has yet to
dazzle and we are patiently waiting for him to make his break here.
He's 10-3. While Vera is definitely talented and skilled, we're just
waiting for consistently capable.
Overall,
he remains quick, dangerous and threatening. Vera's fan's know he has
devastating and somewhat unorthodox muay thai and a solid ground game
to round himself out. We recognize his talent and we can see the
potential in Vera, we just hope that he can put it all together.
Fighting against Soszynski will definitely give him a chance to show us
how seriously we should take him.
Check out BetRepublic for more UFC Picks and Analysis
On the other hand, Soszynski has had great exposure through "The Ultimate Fighter" and hasn't disappoin... [More]

NFL Preseason Betting:
Football fans in Chicago are feeling good again about their starting QB
Jay Cutler. One week removed from a disappointing performance, Cutler
looked very good against the Giants starting defensive unit, going
8-of-13 for 121 yards, a touchdown and a 117.8 passer rating.
In their sports betting TV program, Bet Republic Television
host Sonny Palermo and co-host Jarvis Simes discussed this game and
gave out several other NFL picks in their weekly Thursday night betting
show.
Chicago
has been quarterback starved forever and it’s really remarkable that
they have been as competitive as they have been over the years without
a top pivot. The Bears finally have a legitimate top-tier QB and after
week two of the preseason, it looks like Cutler is ready to deliver the
goods.
Next
week’s game in Denver between the Bears and Broncos has to be one of
the most highly anticipated exhibition games in recent memory. We can
only guess that Cutler is going to want to make rookie Denver Head
Coach Josh McDaniels wish that he could have a do-over. Look for him to
slice and dice a weak Denver team.
The
Bet Republic sports betting portal will have the full analysi... [More]

Early Super Bowl Betting: It’s a mere three weeks until the real NFL season kicks off and teams begin the march to the Super Bowl.
While
rosters are being slowly filled in during preseason football and sports
bettors are warming up their handicapping skills, there continues to be
a decent amount of action at the online sportsbooks on the NFL future odds option of “Which team will win this year’s Super Bowl”?
BetRepublic.com
looks at the teams that have the best shot, the ones that offer the
best value and we look for a longshot or two that might be worth
wagering a few dollars on.
Last
year’s Cinderella team, the Arizona Cardinals came within seconds of
pulling off the largest upset since the 1969 Jets win over the Colts.
At the beginning of the year, the Cards odds
of winning the Super Bowl were at +3,000 for a payout potential of
$3,000 on every $100 bet. There weren’t many who had the Cards as a
future wager, but what a painful loss for those who did, as they cam so
close. That said, we’re sure almost everyone holding an Arizona ticket
would have hedged their bets to ensure a profit last Super Bowl Sunday.
Who
will that dark horse be this year? Is there a dark horse or will the
league resumes its natural state and send only the heavy favorites to

NFL Betting – Rookie of the Year:
This is the time of the year when NFL prop bets and NFL future bets get
plenty of attention from the sports betting public. You can bet on
everything from who will win the Super Bowl, Conference Champions,
Division winners, NFL MVP, top passing QB, top receiver, and on and on.
BetRepublic.com has discussed a few of these future bets both in articles and on the sports betting TV programming.
In
the mix is the betting offer of who will win the Rookie of the Year
award in the NFL. It’s always a bit of a crapshoot to figure out who
the top rookies will be in any sport. Every year gazillions of dollars
get spent on rookies who haven’t played a single down but because of
the thorough scrutiny that these rookies endure from NFL scouts and
pundits it would seem like a given that the top rookies on draft day
will be the top rookies at season’s end.
Rookie of the Year odds:
Aaron
Curry considered the top player in the draft by many draft experts was
selected fourth over-all by the Seahawks and is currently listed at 5/1
at many online sportsbooks as the favorite to win the Defensive Rookie
of the Year. Following Curry is the Chiefs Tyson Jackson at 7/1, James Laurinaitas of the Rams at 8/1 and Brian Orakpo of the Redskins along with the Bengals Rey Maualuga and Jer... [More]

NFL MVP Betting:
The NFL preseason has officially kicked off and sports bettors had
their first full weekend of action with the Week 1 schedule (the Monday
night games are still pending).
The
game that received the most betting action was the match up between the
Patriots and the Eagles. It was Tom Brady’s first snaps since injuring
his knee in his first start last season. Brady looked good with the
first team unit, and then made way for the backups to play the rest of
the way. The result was a solid win for those who bet on New England as
a 3-point underdog, as they won straight up. The new and innovative
sports betting social networking and cutting edge media site BetRepublic.com
covered this game extensively on their Thursday Night Prime Time
betting TV show. Both host Sonny Palermo and contributing handicapper
Greg Dempson liked the Patriots in this one. They had a nice winning
night with their picks on Thursday’s live streaming TV broadcast. Check
them out this week on Wednesday and Thursday night as the
BetRepublic.com TV shows will highlight more NFL picks.
But speaking of Brady, one of the prop bets that is getting more attention at online sportsbooks is “Who will win the NFL MVP?” Good
question and it can be a fun betting option to have in your pocket
throughout the season…but please don’t wager too much on these types of
bets, t... [More]

Latest Football News: Significant
rules change from a safety standpoint will be at the forefront as
formal preparations for the 2009-10 fall sports season begin next week
for more than 110,000 students in eight sports at member schools of the
Michigan High School Athletic Association.
Practice sessions begin on Monday in football with golf, followed by all other sports on Wednesday. Check out Football Betting Tips for more details.
A
major change to the calendar that begins with the New Year is that all
sports now have a required number of practice days before they engage
in competition, to provide a framework that promotes conditioning and a
legitimate window for team tryouts to be conducted in.
Practice in football must begin on August 10 for all schools wishing to begin regular season games the weekend of August 27-30.
Schools
must have 12 days of preseason practice at all levels before their
first game, which may not occur before 16 calendar days.
All
football schools must also conduct at least three conditioning days of
practice before beginning contact, and the conditioning sessions may
not include any pads.
In
golf and tennis, competition... [More]

Multiple Grade 1 winner Commentator,
an 8-year old gelding who finished third in the Whitney Handicap (G1)
on Saturday at Saratoga Race Course, has been retired from horse racing picks.
A New York-bred son of Distorted Humor, Commentator won 14 of 24 lifetime starts and bankrolled $2,049,845 in purse earnings.
He
was only the third state-bred to reach $2-million in career earnings,
joining 2003 Kentucky Derby (G1) and Preakness Stakes (G1) winner Funny
Cide and Say Florida Sandy.
The
decision was made in the hours following the Whitney, after a meeting
between Racing Hall of Fame trainer Nick Zito and Commentator's owners,
Tracy and Carol Farmer.
Commentator
will remain with Zito at the Oklahoma training track in Saratoga
Springs, New York, for three weeks before going to the Farmer's Shadow
lawn Farm in Midway, Kentucky.
"Then
they'll make a decision of where to send him. There are plenty of
options," Zito said. "Physically, there's nothing wrong with him, other
than the age.
Considering
what he's going to have to do, he has to run back in those big races,
the Grade 1 races; we felt this was the best thing to do."
Zito
said he would welcome the chance to give Commentator a public send... [More]

It's Chelsea on penalties over Manchester United,
Goalkeeper Petr Cech was the Chelsea hero as Carlo Ancelotti's side
beat Manchester United in a penalty shoot-out to win the Community
Shield at Wembley, sources football betting tips said.
The match finished level at full-time thanks to Wayne Rooney's late leveller, but Chelsea's second goal had sparked controversy.
Chelsea
substitute Michael Ballack appeared to elbow Patrice Evra, but while
the French left-back lay hurt on the ground referee Chris Foy allowed
play to continue Chelsea's Didier Drogba broke clear of the United
defence before slipping the ball to Frank Lampard to fire the Blues
ahead.
Evra
then had to be kept apart from Ballack and was booked for a cynical
foul on the Germany captain in the 80th minute. But with Chelsea
heading for victory, Rooney broke clear to level the scores in the
final minute and take the game to penalties.
Cech then saved from substitute Ryan Giggs and the luckless Evra, to earn Chelsea a 4-1 victory on spot-kicks.
In
contrast to the ill-feeling in the later stages of the contest, the
afternoon had begun in a more fitting fashion with one minute's
applau... [More]

The New York Giants don't believe being the highest-paid player in the NFL Betting Picks will change Eli Manning.
"He
is a franchise quarterback," Giants general manager Jerry Reese said
Wednesday. "He has done everything we asked him to do. He has come in,
taken a lot of flack from you guys (the media) and he just keeps going.
He does what we ask him on the field, and he does what we ask him to do
off the field. He is a good football player."
The
easygoing New Orleans native, who took over as the Giants' starting
quarterback midway through his rookie season in 2004, has proven to be
a worthy No. 1 overall draft nfl betting pick. In his first four NFL Sports Betting
seasons as a full-time starter, Manning has won a Super Bowl and was
MVP of the game, helped his team to the playoffs all four years and is
coming off his first Pro Bowl season.
Now
he's set to make more money than even older brother Peyton.Eli Manning
agreed to a six-year, $97 million contract extension, an average salary
of roughly $15.3 million annually, a person close to the talks told The
Associated Press.
A
league source told NFL Network's Jason La Canfora that Manning's deal
includes $35 million in guaranteed money and is worth $41 million over
the first two years. T... [More]
