Potential 8 Day Layoff for Cup Finals

according to NHL live this afternoon, the league has said the earliest the Stanley Cup Playoffs can start is Friday June 5th. If both teams wrap up their series by Wednesday the NHL could have a 8 day layoff before the Stanley Cup Finals start.

This is just another example of Buttman trying to please an audience that isn't interested in the sport and kiss network ass. If this shit happens I will be so pissed, the question though is what to do about it, I can't possible stop watching hockey.

There ya go guys. Both series are over which means it'll only be a 2-day layoff on Thursday and Friday. Then game 1 is Saturday, game 2 is Sunday, game 3 is Tuesday, and game 4 is Thursday.

A 2-day layoff isn't bad at all, IMO. I mean...these teams deserve at least that much before the final series.

Granted, had either semifinal gone longer than today, the layoff would've been a week or so. THEN, I'd agree with you.

underdog - because versus wanted games 3 & 4 instead of games 1 & 2 like it has had in previous years.

My guess would be one of two things...TV scheduling or arena scheduling.

As well, they need to have a B2B somewhere if they want another game to fall on the following Saturday. Either that or you have 2 days off in between a pair of games, but that's too much of a layoff. Thus, the doubling-up.
