Team basketball is back! No big 3, big six, press NWO gang mentality. Drafted players, great passing. Complete anti-thesis to the ESPN highlight reel mentality. Bill Russell won almost twice as many titles as Jordan, but he wasn't a human highlight reel tv era player. Don't get me wrong I love Jordan like the rest, but we got to see all his games. How many of Russell's 20-30+ rebound games are out there?

First pick of the year. Waited a month specifically to see who is for real and who is not. Starting conservatively as I don't want to get into parlays and that stuff til later.
Braves -128 - Baves getting hosed by Fish the past few days. Santana gets them on track, or at least makes this a game!
Looking at a Red Sox play with Peavy but haven't full pulled the trigger. Psyched to be back this baseball season!

13-12 NHL, 2-0 AHL regular season
What's up puckheads? Been quite some time. Best forum and posters on covers by far. Think it's the canadian element, that lacks the sociopath keyboard warriors on the other forums. Although the soccer forum is class too. Anyways, no posted playoff picks til today, still reeling that the Pens couldn't hold down a 3-0 lead, would have been one heck of a boost to my bank if that came through. But that's hockey. No lead his is really safe with the exception of some Sharks games I have watched.
Detroit +202 - First pick is a straight up dog. Realise Bruins are a scary machine right now. And the Bear is peaking. I think Howard stands on his head today and they repeat the closeness of last game, but this time the Wings eke it out.
Colorado-No way they get just 12 shots on goal again. Nate Mac gets them back on the horse.

Wanted to pull the trigger with Red Wings yesterday but just couldn't. And that 3-2 anaheim under killed my day. Back at er today. Want to finish the week strong. Still on fence with the Avs game.
Jackets/Flyers over 5.5 - Playoff hockey screams unders, but these two teams combined for 25 goals in the three games they were in this year.
Steven Stamkos to score - Just praying this isn't some 2-1 pain induced game. The best goal scorer in the league folks. Ovie has 48 but is a power play specialist.

12-9 NHL YTD 2-0 AHL picks
Time of year when picks get limited due to baseball which is a much easier sport to handicap IMO. Still in the thick of it with my puck homies though.
Pens -180 - Hate juice, but Canes on b to b, and see Crosby taking the team on his shoulders now that Malkin is out. If Fleury can stop a beachball feel good about this pick.
Avalanche +120 - Duchene out, but so is Horton. Blue Jackets need points to stay alive. But still give the edge to Avs offense, like Nate dog Mckinnon.

Painful Chicago/Philly total last night. The dreaded 3-2 score! Those west coast games were the same thing. Staying away from totals for a while. Hasn't served me well. Love NHL rivalry night. can't wait to see the Blues game. My problem the past two days is I love about 80% of the road teams. In fact making a play on maybe one or two tonight.
Blues +102 - I know Oshie is out for personal reasons, but like Miller in nets and the Blackhawks are frustrated or they are saving 40 + shots for Miller tonight.
Bolts -116 - Can see Stamkos lighting up his boyhood team tonight. Leafs have shown me nothing, while I can see Bishop shutting them out 4-0 or something.
Looking for a homer play but not feeling Jets or Nucks! BOL to the forum!

What's up puck heads? been a while. Psyched for my cash cow baseball in a few weeks. Looking at a few puck plays tonight. Patty Roy versus my Habs tonight. Not touching it considering the insanity that went down saturday night.
Hawks/Flyers over 5.5 - Gearing up for a goal fest on TSN2 tonight. I think this will get ugly.
Rangers -128 - Sens in freefall and love Rangers road record this year. Maybe naming Spezza as captain was big mistake?
Also leaning Blue Jackets and maybe Leafs. Smell a trap though. Some lucrative dogs are going to come in. But don't have guts to take Caps or Islanders or Stars. But feeling those three teams will go 1-2.

7-7 NHL YTD AHL 1-0
Fourth consecutive year used a sick day for nhl trade deadline! Dont tell my boss! Was exciting, some good deals, but I want to seriously offer myslef as a candidate for Garth Snow's GM job, getting me in there could bring some glory and stability to a much tarnished franchise. Couldn't be too hard. As for my Habs getting Vanek, was a good deal by not giving too much for a rental. Seeing him as a good playoff scoring addition, Would have loved Kesler, but so would tons of other teams. Just want the Habs to get more players hard to play against, and get rid of fluff like Rene Bourque. As for the picks tonight, been a while, looking at a few prop-like picks. Reeling from that being a loser on that San Hoser total last night. Missed the Canes big dog ml.
Caps/Flyers over 5.5 - Cashed last week on this, and see no stop.
Ovechkin to score - worth it, since he failed to score in the last matchup with these teams.
Rangers over 34.5 shots - Leafs should have traded for a shot blocking defenseman, Leafs always get badly outshot. Marty St. Louis playing tonight. A good shot at a high shot total.
AHL - Oklahoma city/Utica ovver 5.5 - Linesmakers finally putting some juice on the best AHL bet. Been on an OKC over a lot this year. Never seems to lose.
As for taking a stab at the Habs big dog ml, going to be a game time decision. They beat the Ducks already once this year, and tend to show up against teams t... [More]

Used to love that Cure song . That was 1992. Loved 95's Burn song on the Crow soundtrack, haven't released a good album since 1992. Have next two days to make any NHL profits, but being one of the few I will be capping AHL games tduring the break to the best of my abilities. You think NHL is bad? Super no hope underdog/bottomfeeders win all the time. Will tear your hair out. Going with dogs today. Also when break is over, league goes on an over tear. Be ready for that.
AHL pick OKC/Charlotte over 5.5 - OKC sometimes gives up to 8-9 goals in some games.
Rangers +149 - Price is right in this matchup, I can see Pens shellshocked and disinterested with Olympic jitters and bummed about Letang.
Blue Jackets +151 - Close game versus Kings, thought they would pull it out. San Joser always over valued. Will they ever make the finals? Nope.
BOL to the forum. Lets get that cash in the next few days so we don't have to bet on cross country wrestling!

Just hitting home what a black hole it will be for a while with no NHL for a month. I am sure we can get in on some Olympic plays, but for pucks only plays will be on AHL. Have dabbled a bit over the years on games, but its even more frustrating than NHL where there are a lot of upsets. With football done, only going to be soccer and NBA which are two of my least favorite betting sports. Not trying to be depressing, just anticipating this downtime.

Not posting near enough. I find I change my mind on hockey picks a little too much, and make up my mind at the last minute unless I feel really strong about a pick. The Ducks are amazing by the way. Never thought they would be this good. Going with a few picks tonight and one total. I like making picks of televised games like Flyers/Sabs but undecided until later.
Blues -220 - Juice is insane, but Yotes in a freefall and Blues are so money at home or any game for that matter.
Isles -111 - Isles are streaking road warriors. Breaking road records from the cup winning year of 81. Tavares and Okposo are scorching right now. Cats tough at home which worries me, but riding the Isles and Blue Jackets for a while. I could see this game and the Sens/Wild game go past regulation.
Avs/Blackhawks over 5.5 - Love these games, Wish I could watch the entire game instead of Flyers/Sabs. Great offences. Looking at 4-3 kind of game.
As aforementioned, still on the fence with Flyers/Sabres game. Sabs very good at home, Miller has been lights out. Flyers had a nice streak going until getting blown out by Rags and Bolts. Sabres have a below average offence, looking at the under. Hope they didn't put it at 5. Going to make up my mind this aft. Stay tuned! Like about three other games actually, but the last time I had a big card, went 3-6 or something, 5 games went to OT or something insane like that.

Happy 2014 Pucksters! Been a while, treading dangerous waters in erratic Bowl season. Looking to get back to pucks. Looking at some sides and totals.
Canes/Caps over 5.5 - Could go either way, but if Cam Ward plays, I like this one a lot.
Hawks/Isles over 6.5 - Should be a track meet.
Blue Jackets +140 - Yotes been to OT past six games, I think they will make it seven tonight. Horton should be a good addition to squad. Johansen is hot as a firecracker.
Wanted to make a Kings/Blues play, but undecided. Lets get this!

Very limited public plays this year. Been rough. Doing better in other sports even though hockey has always been my sport. Feel some dogs tonight, namely Panthers and Yotes. Putting them in a parlay.
Bolts -131 - Going with the good home record and Hedman back tonight. I see a 3-2 game.
Oilers/Avs over 5.5 - Dubnyk in nets, Duchene on fire. The best young gun scoring talent on both sides. Surprisingly the Oil own the Avs the past six games.
Cats/Yotes parlay. Let's get this!

2-2 NHL YTD
Just playing one game tonight, am taking a chance on a total so proceed with caution. Also am going to do a small road do parlay.
Wild/Habs under 5.5 and Wild/Habs under 4.5. - Just a very strong hunch. Price and Harding are allowing nothing. Habs team in disarray with exception of Price, the coach is changing the lines yet again tonight. Bozo Therrien splitting up kid line of Eller, Galchynuk and Gallagher was a huge mistake. I figure the worst I will go 1-1.
Sens +105/Bruins +110/Preds +156 parlay-Just looking at some value picks based on home opponent records. Sens n Preds will either win or get blown out, Bruins should keep it close. Counting on a rusty Rick Nash!
BOL to the forum and let's get this puck paper!

Been a bystander really the first month of the season. But would be deep in the red if I posted my leans. Very unpredictable in this NHL. Limited plays so far as my focus and profits have clearly been in CFB and NFL. A shame really because hockey is my favorite sport, and which I know most of the players, personnel, etc. Just feel I have very little feel for the games regardless of the goalies, injuries, back to back. Totals have been a nightmare too, with the exception of Oilers games. Anyways, enough with the gripes, looking to get back on the horse for November. Terrible news about Stamkos, for the Bolts, Team Canada, and my tidy goal props business. A real hit, as I only lean to Ovie now in that dept. A few picks. And yes....road faves. No pucklines though.
Avs -142 - Thinking Matt Duchene might profit from Stamkos for team Canada. Playing some good hockey right now. Avs. are a bit of smoke and mirrors, they should be more like the Oilers, but Roy is a miracle worker. Having great forwards, but average to mediocre defensemen and goaltending is pretty impressive for 14-2. Canes on the other hand are down in scoring, but Roy teammate Muller has kept it close with Justin Peters unbelievably. Hate these home dog situations. But think the Avs offence is too much to cope.
Sharks -180 - Been burned more by Sharks in the past week than that nasty ending in Jaws 2. This is hockey, Sharks and Penguins are struggling, very hard to cap. ... [More]

Nice Isles win. Reg. would have been nice but thank god I took just the match winner. I never go heavy early in the season. Looking at one total, and maybe a side when I get back from work tonight.
Bolts/Blackhawks over 5.5 - Thought about taking the under, but when you have the best goal scorer in the league, plus the Blackhawks scorers seems too hard not to think this will go over.
BOL to the forum.

0-0 NHL season.
Best time of the year for me and my fellow puckheads. Slow out of the starting gate, but am going to be more selective which teams I lean on. Lucky to be on that Caps over last night. Thanks to Weebs for being on the Panthers and Yotes. + money at that price was sweet! Lookin at one game confirmed and one potential total.
Isles +104 - Love the young Isles, Tavares, Moulson and the boys have more firepower than Devils. Just want to know the goalie matchup before I am 100% in.
Looking at the Flames/Blue Jackets total. Was screaming a 3-1 game, but a bit concerned over this new found Flames firepower. Or was it just Holtby padding their stats? Will confirm come game time.
Posted Thursday, June 20, 2013 09:05 AM
Been way late out of the starting gates this season. Going to get this going in a hurry! Strapped for time this morn, so unfortunately no write-ups.

14-7 NHL YTD (reg. season)
Haven't posted for over a month! Been too busy with baseball. But pucks is starting to get interesting. Still contemplating my west coast play tonight, but have one early game ready.
Bruins +102 - Rangers on the ropes. Like Pang said, stick a fork in them. Rangers are so disappointing, Torts and finally Sather should lose their jobs. Bruins master of the 9 lives, were on the ropes but are now snowballing into something resembling the 2011 team.

Just chilling here in Toronto visiting family. Might say a Jays game or two. Been a while with my picks, a lot of coin flipping with this stuff of late. Didn't see Philly beating Habs and Rangers back to back! Just a few picks tonight. Still doing research on Habs/Pens, but might be leaning to the total.
Blue Jackets +141 - Going with value. All aboard Bobrovsky and the Jackets to get in the playoffs.
Red Wings -152 - Just can't back Calgary, even though they get these occasional wins at home. Red Wings need the points. They don't want to lay an egg versus a team like the Flames.
Posted Thursday, April 11, 2013 10:08 PM
I know Buffalo is pathetic, but man, Habs playing firewagon hockey! What is scary is that this team is a lot better than the 2010 team that wen to the 3rd round with Halak.

10-7 NHL YTD AHL 6-3
Typing this as a fire alarm is going down in my building. Hoping these picks are hot! Noticing this time of year a lot of unders are cashing. Hate playing them though. Have a parlay and an AHL pick.
Blue Jackets +115 - Sharks are crap on the road. Blue Jackets play good, stingy hockey at home. Taking a chance, but Sharks away from Shark tank should not be having juice.
Blues -125 - Blues are one of the best road teams I bet on. Always seems to give a good effort.
Bridgeport(AHL) -Worcester playing god awful hockey 1-7-2-0. Bridgeport is 5-4-0-1.
Dog parlay Was +137, Buf +137, Phi +113. Won a few of these last year, worth a shot with these teams and the standings.

Been cold this week. Very frustrated. Going with only 2-3 plays tonight.
Yotes/Blowjackets under 5.5 - Columbus starting to look like the defensive squad Hitchcock used to coach. I see this as a defensive game.
Blues - Blues have turned it around of late, a real test versus Ducks. Putting a small play this goes past regulation too.
Let's get this pape!

That's hockey for ya! No picks last night, too upset over my 1-2 night previous. Both totals were ruined by one goal! Get em back today. I was asked what kind of capper I am, some people just pick favorites and while I do that, sometimes I bet sharp when the value is too good to pass up.
Pens/Leafs over 6 - You know the drill, red light should be going strong with the NHL's most explosive offence.
Yotes/Blues - to go to OT. As long as Mike Smith is in nets, will go with this.
Preds + 137 - Too much value the way they have picked it up of late. No idea what's up with the Canucks, but not playing well enough for my money.
Isles +112 - Isles have a better road record than Bolts home record. Bolts are going to miss the playoffs methinks.
Let's get this paper. Anyone know where Lance Logan is? Been a while.
Other plays I am thinking of are Bruins PL(haven't played one yet) and maybe Isles/Bolts over 6.

5-3 NHL YTD AHL 6-2
Not posting nearly enough, going to get on a roll soon. Had a little on Boston last night, nice team to bet on. Have a few picks tonight, in the AHL too.
Panthers/Bolts over 5.5 - Not impressed with either goalie on each side, starters or backups. Bolts are due for a win. I see this as a 4-2 kind of game. In Stamkos we trust.
Ducks +101 - Ducks at + money is a gift. Minny's good home record responsible for this, but really like the Ducks here.
Springfield/Bridgeport over 5.5 - Will have to see who starts, could be Dipietro. Bridgeport games always seem to tend to go over.
Let's get this paper! Looking at one more game.
Looking at a few ties for Proline/Mise o jeu
