Real simple. Play the opposite of JM (home team) ATS and don't buy any points.

YTD: 3-0 with Raptors series going to B

I try to wait for line movement so that's why the lines don't match.
Did a little unofficial tracking last year and it seemed promising, but no data gathered.
This system did go 11-0 in WNBA this past year.

Denver was not a JM play because only the first 3 games of a road series are used in the system.....Denver vs Atanta was Denver's 4th or 5th road game.

That is debateable.

I have JM system rules right in front of me

"One other thing to note is if your team is playing 6 games on the road vs all opponents of the different conference, then you can split that up into two different series, one beginning with the first game and one beginning with the 4th game."

For the record, no email was sent by JM as confirmation.

Also I did not play Den (A) game 4 of 6 game road trip.

I got the Den win already and will just move on.

The question still remains, it is or it isn't LOL

I like the anti concept.

and so far so good this season.

I decided to back test from last year.

I have only done Orl (2) Mia (1) Hou (1) Dal (1) Chi (1) Okl C (1) and have already found 7 losses to your system using last year as a sample.

Just curious if you backtested and was hoping to compare results.

Even though this system is wagering without buying points this many losses going to the "C" wager is already nearing the break even mark and I haven't even gone thru half the league yet.

Just wondering what you came up with.

I am not trying to bash, just trying to help us all find the best way to make $$$$.

For the record I did play the Knicks on Monday

No I haven't had time or patience to do any back testing. I'm playin it as a small wager experiment.
Did you note any trends that would minimize those seven losses?

Just looking for JM system road teams which won 3 straight using the regular pointspread. I had started going team by team past results using last year's season, right here on the covers site..

You are correct it is very time consuming but backtesting is just that time consuming. I have seen enough in my testing already.

It is good that you are just experimenting because this system does not seem to be automatic. It will be interesting to see how it pans out for the rest of the season.

Hope this system remains profitable for the whole season.

The reason the anti-JM system may work and backtesting may not provide a prediction of the future is that the JM system is being used now by so many people and the books are setting the lines in response to the JM system and that is why you are winning now with the anti-JM system and in the past the anti-JM system would not have worked because the lines were not being set in the past in response to the JM sytem.

I like visiting your threads to see how your systems are doing.

As you noted, there isn't a glaring filter for you to apply. As I mentioned earlier backtesting the anti JM last year went thru only half the teams and found 7 losses with half the league to go.

Hopefully the findings were an exception and not the rule.

If you are interested, PM me as I have backtested your home favorite hockey system too.

The only thing you guys are forgetting.

The AJM hasn't been backtested for A,B,C wins. If JM has won on the "C" it means unless the 3 points came into affect, those games will be AJM losses. Any JM wins A,B,C which won buying the points will still be AJM losses

As mentioned in an earlier post, I backtested only a handful of teams and found 7 AJM losses (where the JM team won the 3 games by the regular pointspread.) and I hadn't even gone thru half of the league.

I just don't think it is as easy as it is made to seem.

It will be interesting to monitor how the system pans out as the season moves forward.

I like everyone am just trying to find the best way to make this work.

There will be some JM wins which would also be AJM wins at A level. The only way AJM will lose a series is when JM wager wins all 3 games without buying the points which happened more often than I would have thought.

Like Smitler stated lets see hopw it plays out and we can all learn.

Here's an idea!

AJM system could have a home favorite filter. Take any JM system play that is a road dog. That can become an AJM home favorite play. Elite teams are favored on the road, and have a tendancy to sweep all road games in the series. I doubt road dogs in JM's system will sweep all games.

Also look at how JM's road dogs do in [A] games... Much like his v2 or v3 MLB system, if a JM road dog covers or wins outright on game A, look to pound the AJM system on the home favorite for the B play - the likelihood of a repeat performance by a road dog should be slim to none.

Just some ideas! I don't have time to track every system, but I can help out where needed.

Can I ask why the Thunder is a play, they won on a C play on 12/2.

Also, if JM calls the pacer game a win, I am ending the series there. I got 1.5 + 3 = 4.5 but the line did start at 2.5.

Personally, are you playing BOTH the JM official and the Anti-JM? I just started following the AJM and it seems like a nice system. I am on Chicago +11.5 and then I saw the line move and waited and caught Portland -4. So thats a healthy middle there. How often are you seeing these hit both A bets at the same time??

I like buying the points on the AJM too...especially on JM's A game so you can go after that big middle. I may do what was suggested earlier and just play this after JM hits his A game, then play the AJM for the B and C as a 2 game chase. That would filter out alot of losses I think...

HSP I will have to go back and check the exact results but by not betting the A games i know of 2 wins you would have missed out on. Maybe they covered on one of the next two, but I will check and report back.

Get on this spread tonight or asap because the line will more than likely increase for the home team after opening.

I think this system will get stronger as the season grinds on because teams like Dallas will get tired and end up sucking on the road. I hate Dallas. They have lost me more money than any other NBA team except maybe Phoenix.

KMang I do play both and middled the first JM game with the Lakers for a double win. That is the goal and I try to watch line movement to get an extra half point or so, but sometimes the opposite happens.
I have bulls +11 and Tblazers -7 so that worked out today.
Also have Spurs -8 (bought hook) for Bucks B game.

Two losses already and no obvious filter. Two good teams playing bad teams is all I see.

I still like this method as a way to get a middle and will continue posting results. I really like the angle with the Betus line always being padded by up to 2.5 points as Orlando was -10 at Betus last time I looked.

My thought is you would do better if you skipped JM's (a) game. The reason is he wins most of them. His record last year was.......

58 (a) wins
17 (b) wins
5 (c) wins

My thoughts are your putting yourself in a hole going opposite the (a) plays.......Up your bets and start after the (a) games and chase the 2nd and 3rd games.

This year alone I think he has won every (a) game, but one.

But your first paragraph confuses me. If we are chasing the AJM teams then the only eventual losses are when the JM team wins all 3 games with regular spreads. All others will be eventual AJM winners. If it took a C bet to win a JM game then the AJM was a winner at the A level.

What do you think....Is Chicago a JM play monday?

Chicago fits the V2(2 out of 3 cross conference teams), but the JM rules (V2 rules from last summer)don't say if 2nd half of a 6 game road trip is eligible?????? any one actually paid $165 for the email picks for confirmation. I would hate to find out the 3 and out hard way that it actually wasn't a play. You never know...JM may have an update now or maybe he's monitoring what happens this season so he can sell V3!

With the last 18 plays (trios) last season there were 2 chases that game up losses and of course jm didn't lose. I like the anti system but it does lose. you can get more wins if you play all the games.

My suggestion is to run from BETUS ASAP with JM plays............
Look around
Compare them to other books
You will see a trend that they have lines anywhere from .5 to 1.5 points against your favor when on a JM play
Just enough for you to win at other books but lose there dragging yourself deeper down the rabbits hole

2 pts is almost always -150 so risking 15 to win 10 looks like 7.5-7.5-7.5-7.5.
Alternatively, make the risk amount even like risking 12 to win 8 (6-6-6-6) or 30 to win 20 (15-15-15-15).

You can play one or both. I am playing both for tracking purposes.
The method you are talking about is Martingale where you double up after a loss. I don't do that very often. Too stressful.
I play a version of the cross-out/labby method.
For example cross-out line starts $10 $10 $10 $10 so bet both ends (10+10=$20). If that wins they are crossed out and you bet the next two (10 10=20). If that wins then that line is completely crossed out. Start a new line to cross out. Keep it the same or increase it.

If you lose the first bet add the loss to the end and add both ends ($10 10 10 10 20) 10+20=30. Essentially you are trying to win half of what you initially tried to win. 10 10 10 10 20 30 (10+30=40) if lose twice. If you win the second bet you cross out the 10 and 30 and bet the 10 and 20. A little less risky.

I use two or more accounts. Betus for the AJM because they are in cahoots with Morrison and adjust their lines.
I use other accounts for JM and usually buy 2 pts.
When you buy 3 pts at Betus its like buying 2 or 2.5 everywhere else.
I usually post how I'm playin it. Watching line movement also has some benefit.

The Lakers covered last night so the AJM won and the chase is over. The JM chase continues tonight with a play on the Bucks.

I am only buying 2 points because Betus had them at +8.5 and BookMaker had them at +9.5. So I can get the same line (11.5) for -150 instead of -170. BookMaker will only let you buy up to 2 points.

JM1 = John Morrison Version 1
JM2 = John Morrison Version 2
Read the other threads in this forum if you want to know the difference but it really doesn't matter, its just for my data gathering purposes.

The JM systems tell you to buy 3 points.
The AJM system is the opposite of JM and doesn't require you to buy points

Hey Smit, big fan of your work. Here is a filter for the JM plays that might help reduce the number of C game loss. Of the three system losses this season: Hou (12/27/09), Sac (2/21/10, might not have been a play because all games played against teams in the same conference), and NJN (1/22/10), Hou and Sac both came off 3-0 ATS and NJN was simply the worst road team in NBA. I went back several years and found out that there were some system losses occured when a team go on road after at least 3-0 ATS.

The Det serie came off a 5-0 ATS run. If filter out teams coming off a 3-0 ATS run, it would have been a void serie. Depending on when you put in your play on the B game, it would have covered if you put in the play 5 minutes before game time and get +8.5 B3. I put in mine 1 hour before game time and got +7.5 B3. I abandoned C game because of the B game closing line.

BTW, I also voided the current MIN serie because it is the worst road team in the Western Conference. So if you void series for team that came off at least 3-0 ATS and avoid the two worst road teams in each conference, you might save some $$$. I have to test this going back several years. Since 1 system loss wipe out 17 system wins. It pays to walk away from a bad spot.

Thanks, I use 5dimes you could buy a shit load of points...something like up to 10 -15 if you want, BetJamaica started to allow me to buy up to 10 points, the greek another good one, linesmaker only up to 3 points. You are misunderstanding the plays, you do not have to hit the middle to win. Both JM and AJM are chase-systems, if one of them hits you stop that chase but you continue the other until you win there.

Look at the chase for Bobcats the other day:

First game vs Denver you play +8,5 on JM and -5,5 on AJM, that results in a win on AJM and the AJM chase is over.
The next game against Phoenix you play +8,5 on JM and win and the JM chase is over.

The problem is when the JM is a winner in all 3 games, which happend several times last season, then AJM will loose.

On a side chase I'm playing against the Bucks and Heat because they are on game 4 of a 6 game road trip. JM only applies to first 3 games.

I play both JM and AJM plays.

For JM plays I'm still experimenting with buying 2 points at -150 for JM picks if another book's line is 1/2 point or greater difference from what Betus has. Betus is the only book I know where I can buy 3 or more points and their line is almost always swayed against JM's plays. The max points you can buy at most other books is 2. As an example The Clippers were +2.5 at Betus and +3 at Bookmaker. So the decision is buy 3 (5.5) at Betus at -170, or buy 2 (5) at -150 and risk losing by 1/2 point.
JM called the NJ chase a win at the Jan. 18 A game (+8.5+3=+11.5). However looking back at the line movement Betus had +8.5 from 9:43 am to 9:53 am. After that it went to +8 and lower. All other books had them at +8.5 or +9 but you can only buy 2 points so that would have been a push or loss. The only way you could have won that chase is if you had Betus and placed the bet between 9:43 am and 9:53 am.
Other than that small window in the NJ series, buying 2 points did not affect the outcome of any JM chase.

As for the AJM, I hate losing by a half point so many times i will buy a half.

AJM is to simply play the opposite of JMs Version 1 and Version 2 plays. You do not have to buy any points for AJM plays if you don't want to.

As of 1/23, the records for both systems, game for game, is 48-2.

But really JM is 47-3 because many, many people lost the Pistons and Nets chase when JM called it a win.

The AJM record states 55-2 so that must include prior optional chases that I previously lumped together. Someday I will go back and separate them.

Lower juice. Buying 2 instead of 3 has attributed to one additional loss this season vs buying 3 points. That loss was the version 1 Nets series which I shouldn't have played anyway. oh well a loss is a loss.

Here's how I justify it. Betus is always at least a half point off other books for version 1 and version 2 plays. So essentially your net loss is 1/2 point, But net gain +20 on the juice.
Example
1/21 Betus has Lakers +3 at Cavs I could buy 3 at -170 for +6
1/21 BookMaker has Lakers +3.5 I buy 2 at -150 for +5.5

I tried 5Dimes. You get the same line as BookMaker but the juice is higher. (buy 2 -155 and buy 3 at -200)
Its just a risk I'm willing to take.

Usually use Betus for AJM and BookMaker for JM.
Almost always at least a half point difference.
BookMaker only lets you buy 2 points, but its like getting 2.5 points for -150 as opposed to 3 at betus for -170 for the same point spread.

I encourage you to get a Betus account if you are playing AJM.

Thanks swag and I believe you are right. I looked at my emails and didn't see one from JM for Version 1 Nets. I get the schedule from the sahlsa spreadsheet and simply blew it.
Hope Nets can shit the bed in Houston tonight but it seems like a lot of chalk.

My MM is not too consistent nor good for that matter. If the A loses I usually just try to get my original bet back and round up to make the amount even. Kinda depends on the teams and their ats record.
It seems like everytime I nut-up and increase my wager size and labby or martingale, it goes to a C and I shut up.

I will remove the nets series from the official record.

Yes 3 games betting the opposite team and not required to buy points. Plus you almost always get at least a bonus 1/2 point if you use Betus.

There may have been a 4 game chase but I don't think either side went to 4. I would have to go back through the thread too make sure.

You can use that form of money management to place your wagers (Martingale). I don't, but I should. You can also straight bet it, labourchere it, or use any other wager method your heart desires.
Depends on what kind of risk you want to incur to get your reward.

For the most part I'm playin JM Version 3 but not AJM version 3. I did not take Sacramento last night. I did take Oklahoma money line as part of another system I'm experimenting with. Little closer than I wanted it to be but same result.
I have noticed when a team loses a JM series the next series for same team they cover the first game. We will see if that holds true for Houston next time.
I may track and post JMs baseball along with the opposite. not sure yet. Like NBA, I only purchased MLB Version 1. If I don't post it somebody else will.

I think I know what I did wrong. Houston is a Version 2 play because its only a 3-game road trip and one is in conference (Minnesota).
Clippers and Nets must not be Version 2 plays because tonight they both had in-conference games and their next 3 are out of conference.
So Rockets for sure.
Clippers and Nets probably not according to JM rules. Their next games will be Version 1 A games.

John Morrison Version 1 and Version 2 road chase system is 62-2
Losses were Pistons 12/18/09 and Rockets12/27/09.

Anti-John Morrison Version 1 and Version 2 home chase system is 62-2.
Losses were Bucks 11/16/09 and Thunder 12/4/09.

The AJM system is simply betting the opposite team (home team) as JM and not buying any points. If JM wins the 1st game and AJM loses you keeps chasing against that same road team.

One or two had a push in one of their games, but then they won the remaing games in that series, so that would be considered a loss unless after a push you say stop the series and dont bet it anymore. No, you gotta remember that JM isn't the originate of any of these systems. He steals almost all of them from Tod at Platinum sports investing. Tod just came out with the (What JM calls V3) and JM quickly marketed it. Remember that Tod recommends the Labouchere method of money management though so this is a case where the system will probably work well for him but not with JM's martingale approach as there are going to be a few more losses. JM has pretty much killed the V1 system by overmarketing it and now the lines are always out of whack against us so hence the new versions.

stay away from pushes for the most part...but i think with the lakers facing three easy opp i would continue to ride them.

I had the lakers at 3.5...what is the issue? should have bought them to 6, whenever i play a dawg in this strategy i try and get them at 6 or higher. regardless keep betting the lakers...

nets should have never been a play....why chase the nets? that is a good spot for a fade........good teams you chase and really bad teams you fade

i've been perfect so far in the new year with one loser on the strategy with the pistons back in november i think.

tonights game is vs. 3 in opp. conference, but i am going with the opposite...bobcats have just 3 wins on the road, i would rather have my money on them to lose one of three ats than win ats. with anothy hurt, i am going to just play it w/out points...just too much uncertain to spend the extra money...because the injury could have denver that messed up where they lose su.

the system will fail every once in a while, but if you are not buying points that may make the system fail more often, if you are buying the points then the system will fail less but when it does fail it will wipe you out pretty good if you go all 3.

i stick to the calendar but use my own discresion, i try not to buy points to lower the risk...but i sometimes buy them to get favorite to - 2 or 3 or a dawg up to 6 or 7.....i fade the teams that suck...most of time the sucky teams cover but the goal of this strategy is to not loss any of your series...

So smitler, the JM system is 47-3, NOT buying points or buying points? If it is with buying points, then I'm going to backtest without buying points and come back with the results.

and the AJM system is 55-2 WITHOUT buying points? If so, that's some amazing profit there. Roughly $3000 for the dime bettor. I'm looking to tail these plays too as well as something that's already been in the works since early in the season.

I am going to play Chi as the next bet. I suppose I am playing it as a B bet as I did not lose any more on the 2nd bet since it was a push. I don't know that there are any specific rules for a push in the AJM. If anyone knows, please fill us in. Yes I'm playing it both ways and will probably spot play a few V3 plays.
I do it a little differently though. I almost always use betus for AJM and another book for JM and only buy 2 points at -150.
Betus is usually 1/2 point or more higher for JM lines than other books.
For example, its like getting the AJM play at -5 -110 and the JM play at +7.5 -150 (buying 2 points with a 1/2 point difference between books).

I do believe you would get the official email from JM stating memphis is his V3 play. I only get V1 emails so can't be 100% sure. I'm playing it the usual both ways.
V3 JM record was 26-2 so its not as reliable as V1 and V2. You will need good money management to turn a profit at 26-2. AJM V3 record was so bad I stopped playing it last year.
I may go back and see what the AJM record would have been if I kept playing it.

Options are to tease and/or parlay all three in addition to playing each small or in lieu thereof.
There are many options. I see it as an opportunity.

Although I haven't done this across versions before I will parlay and maybe tease these 3 C bets tomorrow and play just a little (if any) on each straight up.
It's early in the season and I don't think all three will hit so save your money to fight another day. But just in case all three do hit that parlay saved your ass.

Absolutely! With both records being 80-2 you would have profited on both systems so far this season. The added benefit is it limits your risk with the potential to win both at once. It also gives you more flexibility when wagering on the remaining B play.

One caveat is I have not backtested this system for prior seasons.

AJM rules: take the opposite team as JM and don't buy points unless you want to. Sometimes I buy the hook if line not even.

Tip1: Shop for best lines (Betus is a great tool for both systems)
Tip2: Buying 2 points at -150 from any other book is like buying 2.5 at Betus if played right

Am I the only one really worried about potentially getting crushed here? Playing V1, V2, and V3 there are currently 4 pending C-bets.Cleveland (V3), LA Clippers (V3), Denver (V2), and Boston (V2) are a combined 8-0 ATS on their trips.

This season is my first playing an NBA Chase system, so naturally getting a little frustrated. Started playing JM but wasn't comfortable laying so much juice buying 3 pts every game.

Switched to A-JM and plays are 2-8 so far, but the season is young. I will continue to play V1 and V2, but will tread lightly with V3 and decide whether to play or pass on a case by case basis depending on the teams. The big picture in the NBA should be much clearer in a month or so.

I see 2 new A-JM V1 chases tonight. UTA @MIA and DET @POR

As for the 4 C-bets I will wait and see what the spreads are at closer to gametime. Currently there has been line movement towards the road team in all 6 system games tonight.

I will likely tease as well given there have been so many 1-2 pt losses.

I stopped doing the JM mid season to test my skills capping the games straight up...not bad, ended up around 50%....thinking of getting back into it this season.

What version worked the best?
What is v4? Never heard of that, no plays till Dec!
What money mgmt works the best (laborchere, series, etc...)? Was buying the points effective?

It is never smart to play a chase after a push...this system is based on probability and if you pushed or lost by a few points....that game more than likely should have been your hit...

I think Smitler's recommendation of putting a small play on the Pacers is the safest play...This is a pick em, never the best case scenario in a game 3 bet....'live to fight another day'.

I am not playing Anti JM on the V3 because of its track record...so no advice there....I could see the Nets winning, leaning them on a straight play.

What scares me is the TWolves.........just one cover all season and they have the Lakers.

It has its ups and downs...the key is stay alive...money mgmt will push you through the down times if you use a safe percentage of your bankroll each play. I use 5%. I do not buy points because you will get buried on a loss and will take a loss at only 7 units if I know I am banging out a win percentage in the 90s.

and on 04/02 is another JM2 A bet because they lost against a team of their own conference (San Antonio) before and then Indiana (E) and Memphis (W) is that right?

So now as I won JM2 B bet or JM2 A bet on 04/02 against Boston and lost the AJM bet I can also count it as the AJM A bet and start chasing right? because if you'd count it as AJM2 B bet the series would have ended on 03/31 didn't it?

Anti JM version 3 and 4 didn't do very well last year. Version 1 and 2 were the ones that went 80-2 or whatever. Be careful with the Cleveland and LAC bets. I'm sure at least one of the Boston/Chicago bets will cover though, if not both.

Don't use Martingale for MLB, use Labourchere. The only system I would recommend Martingale for is the JM NFL system v1 and v2. Those appear to never lose with about 30ish plays per season.

Anything else, Labourchere will make you much more $$$$$$$ and minimize losses
