Kansas City Royals Future...

What's up everyone. Every year I like to pick one team's future at a decent price and follow them the whole year. I actually had the Tigers a few years back at 175-1 for the Series. Ouch.

Anyways, I know that any value is basically gone these days thanks to the Tigers and Rays coming in recently.

I can get 100-1 on KC at Matchbook right now. Terrible value but like I said their is just not a lot of value out there this year. Just wanted to get some thoughts from some of you guys who know your shit in here.

I love the Royals lineup. The addition of Coco Crisp was one of the more underated transactions in the offseason. Great clubhouse guy and just what the Rolals needed.

I think Alex Gordon has the chance to have a breakout year. Maybe Teahen can get his head out of his ass. Billy Butler can mash. I like the addition of Jacobs from the Marlins.

Greinke and Meche are a solid 1-2. Hocheaver is an up and comer. Bullpen looks decent with Farnsworth, Mahay, Bale, and,Peralta. Soria has a chance to be one of the best closers in the league.

Being an Indians fan, I see them being a little over valued this year. Tigers suck. White Sox will not be as good as last year. Twins are always there.

Bottomline is I think you can win this division with about 88 wins. I see things changing in Missouri this year and would not be surprised to see this team compete at the highest level this year.

Opinions appreciated.........

definitely agree with you on the royals. I think they are an up and coming team. Not world beaters, but have some core talent.

I like Aviles at SS too and I think Bannister bounces back from a horrible last year.  Maybe not as good as he was 2 yrs ago but somewhere in between is probably right for him.

I like how the ended the year last year too.   Should be an up and coming team.   I have them pegged at about 85 wins but a few games here and there and they can win that division.  No doubt about it.

I will be on their Over in total wins this year.

Good luck.

Thanks for the responses guys. The Central is totally up for grabs. After that we have seen that anything can happen in the postseason.

al central is up for grabs... if it happened in the al east last year, then it can certainly happen in the central.  i wouldn't have the guts to do it tho..[but, the royals are rounding the corner]

Sorio is a stud. I took their over for total wins. Might wanna look into that bet. GL

I think he's the third best closer in the AL, behind only Nathan and Papelbon.

I played the season over for $500. I really like this play. This team can play 500 ball unless something falls apart. They are the Royals.

many books list KC as high as 500 to 1

After the Tigers, and DevilRays demonsrated;anything is possible in MLB..

Any year, any era...remember the "Amazin' Mets" ? also a last to first team..

Question: How many teams have went from "Last to First" since the modern era of MLB

began? One thing for sure, it's not un-common...That's why the Royals bring extreme value to the table for the 09 season..good play, bol in advance

Just bought the Series price for a few backs on MatchBook. 100-1. Minutes later only to see their opening day was postponed. Haha.
