Is it that time again. I thought it would never come. Heading to LV for week 3 NFL so I have to get my handicapping skills going.
Here is a game that nobody is talking about. I like that. Division rivalry so must win right out of the box.
Cinn. @ Balt.(-2)
Like Baltimore to bounce back big this year. Not worried about Rice being out. Pierce will do fine. OL has had a year to jell. Pitta healthy and Smith a nice addition to WR. Defense looks good. I like the first three draft picks from Alabama & FS.
Marvin Jones out, so Balt. can double Green.
If you are into trends: Balt. hasn’t lost a home opener in 3 yrs. 22-4 SU at home since 2011.
As long as line stays below 3, I’m in.

Cinn. -8 @ Ill.
I’m rolling with the boys from Cinn. for another week. Anybody with a QB named Munchie is good for me. He needs to reduce the interceptions, but I like his running ability. The team believes in Tuberville and his system. You can see it on the sidelines.
Illinois is a mirror image of Purdue, but with a worst 2012 record(2-10). Both bottom feeders in the Big 10 this year. Southern Illinois scored 34 pts. on Illinois(407 yards). What do you think Cinn will do?
Home field for Illinois so line changes from Purdue game 101/2 to Illinois game at 8.
Ball St -7(bought ½ pt.)/ Army
Coach Lembo has this team headed in the right direction. QB Wenning is a senior stud. Ball St has Army’s number the last two years. 48-21 and 30-22.
We all know Army is a top rushing team. Last week Ball St. held Ill. St to 74 rushing yards in 36 attempts(2.0 average). RB Dixon for Army is a little banged up. If Army gets behind what are they going to do? Army 1-4 on the road last year. Ball St. 3-0 as a HF.
South Carolina +91/2

Thank God football is back. I’m a long time football freak. Had good years and bad years. I’ll bring two picks to my covers brothers every week with my thoughts on the game. I’m not a unit guy. I just keep my record as wins and loses.
Cincinnati and Louisville will fight for the AAC championship. Cincinnati will return all 5 OL starters who allowed just 15 sacks last yr. Best OL in the AAC. This is very important for the 1st game of the year. They have an experienced front 7 on D. I also believe they have one of the best LB core in the league.
Both teams have new coaches and both are good. I give Tuberville an edge because of his SEC background.
Purdue could end up at the bottom of the Big Ten. QB is gone with last years leading receiver(Edison) and leading rusher(Shavers)
Not sure why the line has dropped from 14 Any thoughts? But I’ll take the 101/2 and Home field.
Utah St +3
Seems like the wrong team is favored here? Utah St. has a new coach, but not really. I usually do not bet new coaches with new systems at the start of a season. This is not a new coach. This is last years OC and former QB. So the offense is the same.
All five OL are back. See above thoughts on returning all OL. Chuckie Keeton(QB) is back. He scored 8 TDs last year with his feet.
Utah’s offense is bringing in a new system with a new OC(Dennis Erickson). New systems take time, so go against Utah ea... [More]

We are a group of 8 guys that get together every year for SB weekend. This was our 20th SB weekend in Las Vegas. It was one of the better trips.
Arrived Thursday and was able to check into our Flamingo room at 11 am. Asked for a complimentary upgrade on our comp deluxe room(no $20 trick), but was told the hotel was booked solid for SB weekend. He still gave us an upgrade(lol) to a Fab room with a fantastic view of the Bellagio fountains looking one way and the Mirage volcano looking the other way. (27th floor)
Now lets talk about the “not so fab” Fab Room. This is not an upgrade and I would never spend more for a Fab Room . It is just a Deluxe room with new beds and a new supposedly hardwood floor. The floor was laid by an amateur carpenter. You could see the white glue between the strips and on the baseboards. I’m not sure if it was wood or linoleum? But it was a free room for four days.
Went to Silverton Casino for 10 times odds craps. Picked up $4,000 on some great rolls and the weekend is now paid for.
Dinner at Lawry’s Prime Rib off the strip. The best Prime Rib in the world. They come to your table with a stainless steel cart. 4 large prime ribs(rare, med./rare, med, well) and they cut it in front of you. I made the reservations for the wrong night and they still seated me at a nice booth. Cost: Expensive.
Friday: 11am tee time at Painted Desert Golf Course. We went with a friend who lives in Henderson. We got NV. resident ra... [More]

Just back from LV Superbowl weekend. The Covers party Friday night was great. It was held at the Lagasse Stadium at the Palazzo Casino. What a great sports venue. We had a private area in the back of the room. Booze was flowing, had some food, shot some pool and met Mr. Covers.
Never hooked up with VG. How do you go to these meet & greets and find someone from online forums? Next year I suggest name tags.
Thanks again covers for a great event.
