giants momentum which had been the most potent symbol of new york’s might in the playoffs, was a source of great pride, but drained with an extended week away from the field, a resource which could have been better used elsewhere than entrenched in prolonged talk surrounding super bowl hype. giants now attempt to forcibly extend their post season streak with a confrontation on the field against a team consolidated by a qb that this season registered the 2nd most passing yards in the history of the league, and reinforced with wes walker, who caught the 4th highest total number of passes in league history this season.

Despite the assertion by some that new york will dominate, this is pro football, and it has become apparent to all that the hype of even the most chalked teams is no longer guaranteed, especially when two former super bowl mvp recipients will stare down opposition defences. My numbers indicate the patriots will strike and swiftly return to the status of super bowl champions. pats -3.
