Charlotte +2.............Is it Christmas already?

Saw this morning Orlando -2 in Charlotte.  First reaction bullshit!  How is a team with a 9 game home winning streak, absolutely murdering some of its visitors getting 2 fucking points from a team that is 2-6 straight up in their last 8 road games?  So I did some research and over the last 3 seasons Orlando is 4-1 in Charlotte winning by an average of 15 points with their 1 loss coming by 6 points.

I don't know what this line should be......I guess I expected Charlotte to be a small favorite (I thnk they opened up Charlotte -1)so when I saw Orlando a favorite it threw me off guard.

Charlotte has been fantastic at home, they got killed on the road last night.  But now they are facing an opponent who has really had their way with them over the last couple of seaons on their home court.  What happens tonight?

I think Orlando takes this one by 7 or more.  I don't think Charlotte returns to their home dominance after last night thumping in Atlanta.

My play is Orlando -2

(unless someone makes a great arguement otherwise)

The line crossed the PK from +1 for Magic to to -2 Magic...NEVER a good sign when a dog becomes a favorite ...heavy action on Magic and that's why wicked line movement.  I wouldn't go by years past, Bobcats were shitty at home in that time parameter...

No argument.  Although I do hope the cats come and play well the first half.  There is a chance that Jackson and Wallace do want to make up for last night.  Im hoping the line is set to attract Orlando action because of the Cats performance last night and then prove that they are still strong.  BOL my friend

It isn't X'mas, but it is approaching the Chinese Lunar New Year, and it's gonna be raining money on those who bet Charlotte.  (Vegas doesn't ever give a free day to bettors)

18-4 current season

23-18 at home 08-09

21-20 at home 07-08

Yah I know what you mean about lines moving from -1 to +1, like that.  But I don't think its ever good when a home team that has a 18-4 home nrecord is getting 2 points from a team that is 12-11 on the road.  I wouldn't go so far to say Charlotte was shitty at home, because over the last 2 seasons they managed to stay over .500 beating some really good teams.

Even opening Charlotte at -1 is funny.  All they have to do is win.  Open it at -2.5 and I wouldn't look twice.

I envision a game going back and forth like the Lakers NY game, with Orlando closing the game with a nice 7 + win

Just on the fact that the line opened at Bobcats -1 is a clear indication as to what the books are thinking here.

Magic are 2-9 SU on the road in the last 11 road games, while Bobcats have a nine game home winning streak.

I FEEL YOU....I THINK THE PUBLIC IS OFF ORL ON THE ROAD.

Thats whats confusing me, lol.  So you read it as the books expect Charlotte to win, yet people like me don't?  And you expect Charlotte to win as well?

Over the last few weeks you've taught me alot so I'm all ears.

Like I was saying, heavy action on the Magic is reason for the swing.  Also, maybe some not yet known info on status of Wallace....

theres nothing fishy about the line

orlando gets A LOT of public no matter who they play and i think this line moved because of raymond felton being downgraded to doubtful this morning and we all know how much injured players mean in the nba... they don't.

its charlotte or no play for me (most likely no play)

This is very true... the public love to bang on the strong teams like orl, lakers, bos

Man Charlotte gets one L and there are back to being a bad team?  Hope I never get on ya'lls bad side.  The Cats May not be the best but you gotta give them credit for the way they have played late.  IMO you can't look at any prior years meetings of the tw, cause the Cats are a whole new team.  Jackson and Wallace bring it tonight.

Wallace is questionable tonight, buddy.

Well then lets hope Jackson can carry the whole damn team.

Im goin to his house to give him a cortisone shot right now!

I was taught to go against the steam in the NBA so Charlotte is the correct side.  They opened it at -1 thinking Orlando is the play, Felton isn't worth 3 points and now they feel Charlotte will win.

I'm not liking how it opened at Charlotte -1 to Charlotte +2 to Charlotte +1

charlotte was a 2 point home dog just last week to the spurs and they beat them by 16..the point is this team still gets no respect for what they do at home, even when they play shitty teams their lines arent that big at home...at leat not to the point of a lakers or celtics home line,  and they do blow people left and right at home.. but they have a bad road record and reputation of not that good a team which imo keeps their home lines low...

badlands says:
01/23/10 06:28PM
that should say they blow people out not blow people at home

I don't know, I think at this point I may lay off.  But I do like Sacramento

VGPOP says:

Good call. Orlando dominated for the first three quarters, Bobcats played a hard 4th quarter, and then Magic got tired of fooling around with this team, Howard with two huge blocks in OT, and Magic played suffocated, superior defense in OT.

Won game rather easily in OT.

Fuck it I'm going with my gut, playing Orlando for a couple of units.  Standard play
