First thoughts on todays games

Atlanta -3

Boston on back to back, Atlanta tends to bounce back after a home loss.

Minnesota +9.5

Oklahoma over the weekend just downed Boston and Milwaukee on the road, nice accomplishments.  This will be their 3rd game in 4 nights.  Maybe they put this on cruise and settle for a 6 point win.

San Antonio -3.5

San Antonio is playing fantasic right now.  Not only are they winning but they're playing great down the stretch, executing, and putting teams away.  Orlando is winning but their success is coming more at their lack of competition.  They're not shooting the 3 ball well (except for last game) and that is crucial to their success.  This is San Antonio's 3rd game in 4 nights, so that worries me a bit.

Utah -10.5

What is this we cover only on the road Utah Jazz?  Not sure I'm willing to only get 10.5 with this awful Kings team.

Golden State +2.5

Would like to know if Chauncy is in or out.  If he's out I'll take the small number.  I've seen them playing w/o Chauny and its pretty nasty.  Golden State just got embarrassed by the World Champs, I expect them to at least put up their fists in this fight, cause last night they got knocked out quickly like Marvis Frazier did against Iron Mike.

New Orleans -5

New Orleans barely squeaked out the win yesterday in Sacramento scoring a season low 75 points.  New Orleans shot a horrible 32% from the field.  Are they this good where they can play their worse and still find a way to win?  Last 6 visits to LAC, NO has won and covered all.  Is it really going to be this easy?  In the last 3 seasons this is what has happened when New Orleans came to visit the Clippers.

11/24/2007 New Orleans won 98-89 (NO -3, 185.5)

1/2/2008 New Orleans won 95-81 (NO -5.5 183.5)

11/24/2008 New Orleans won 99-87 (NO -6.5 186.5)

4/1/2009 New Orleans won 104-98 (NO -4, 195.5)

11/9/2009 New Orleans won 112-84 (NO -2, 193)

3/15/2009 New Orleans won 108-100 (NO +2.5, 204.5) No Paul

Good Luck tonight!

Wouldn't really go by those past stats for NO since the Clippers offense is now focuses through Blake Griffin and Eric Bledsoe under Vinny Del Negro - sure the win/loss record is the big difference between the two, but NO has yet to show a superb level of play to really beat an opponent outright in a majority of categories.  Either way, stats do have some usefulness - maybe the Hornets just like playing in Cali...

So whats changed now that Vinny is coaching and offense if focused through Griffin and Bledsoe?  Thru 14 games in the last 4 season the Clippers were 2007/08 6-8, 2008/09 2-12, 2009/10 5-9, 2010/11 1-13.

Its worse now, from what I gather.

Are you serious?  No really?  I hope you're joking.

Yeah I am pretty sure that NO beat Clippers this year by 10+

Not that I'm backing a NO play at the moment.  Just my thoughts.  It almost looks too easy, if you ask me.  Its just way to hard to back the Clippers.  But every dog has his day.

On Saturday night I made 5 bets and the angle I user was I bet against teams on a B2B and their opponent had the previous night off. I went 0-5. I'll be betting teams on a B2B vs a team with 1 day rest for quite some time now.

It's amazing how that happens.  Sorry to hear you went 0-5, you're way too good a capper for that to happen to on a regular basis.

You probably could of got 10 or 10.5 on the Minny game if you waited a little. Durant and Green are playing.
gl with all your games

Woah man, don't get me wrong I respect you and everything, but I think you really misunderstood where I was coming from with my statements above.  What I was getting at is you can't judge New Orleans based on what limited play they've come up with so far.  While they have won most of their games, they have shown a weakness on more than just one end of the spectrum at times.  This is far from a consistent team, they have yet to play a full 48 minutes of good basketball.  If you saw how CP let the ball roll on the in-bound to the half-court line only to have Luther Head dive for it and make it a jumpball (inevitably NO possession) sums up their season so far, just enough to get it done.

However the more important trend I wanted to ask you about, maybe the New Orleans players just really like ballin in Cali and gives them more motivation away from home.

Unfortunately I didn't see it.  I wish I could watch more games than I do, but I just can't.  You can say that every team in the NBA doesn't play a full 48 mins (How many of us put in a full 8hr work day from punch in to punch out?).  I think it just human nature tho.  In reference to the amount that is given in the 48 mins, I do believe it's safe to say NO will give forth more effort than the Clippers will.  Clippers often will play a good first quarter when the score is zero/zero.  Then somewhere in the next 3 quarters, they'll hit the wall.  But I will say, I think this is a spot that NO could come out flat.  It is the Clippers, how serious is it?

This maybe somewhat true too.  For the most part they compete against the Lakers.

My concern in backing NO is their awful day yesterday.  I hate betting on teams that are coming off a season low game or a season high game.

When I first looked at this game I liked Clippers.  Then I had to do some research and found how NO has covered them in Staples.  And I put it out there for people to know.

Likewise, whenever I see your threads I jump in to see what you got going.

In some screwball way, I'm hoping NO gets to -6 so I can come back with Clippers +6.

I think Chauncy will play, but I like Golden State anyway. Denver has played badly since the second half of their game in Phoenix. They beat New York by 2 points in Denver, and almost were upset by the Nets on their home floor.

Also all over the San Antonio pick. That's a good one!
