Seriously, tho', your scenarios are indeed plausible. Scary and plausible.

I'm goin' ND v. Ala because they have the best D's. I'm sure you think I'm crazy for saying ND's DEF is better than LSU's, but they haven't given up a single rushing TD all year and that's against a tougher schedule than Bama's or LSU's.

The two mega-coaches from the SEC (Les Miles and N Saban) have figured out that the way to dominate on the FB field is to brutalize the opponent in the trenches. They therefore recruit linemen and linebackers from all over the country and make these positions their priority.

This approach to dominate an opponent physically also helps the Big East to dominate come Tourney time.

This approach won't work in baseball, where physical domianance is hardly viable as there is no physical contact.

It is a legitimate complaint to criticize the style of play. It lacks grace, and leadership. It's simply dominance. No wonder we saw an Alabama linebacker throw a Missouri RB down like John Cena would do for entertainment.

Therefore these two have the inside track. It works. A great QB and/or RB cannot overcome a dominant defensive line.

Likewise an average playmaker can find wide open holes and spaces with a dominant offensive line.

Sounds simple, but most recruiters go after the darling HS QBs instead of the 6'6 300 lb linemen. They don't get it.

Oregon will have a very improbable  task of beating USC twice.  After the Ducks, SEC gets the more value for in conference wins. Playoffs are next year. Just a 4 game system, which the SEC will dominate as well.

Bama beats KSU by 20 in the title game. Oregon doesn't play the defense it would take to beat Bama, KSU depends too heavily on the run and ND would probably lose to Bama by 10-14 points. Ksu got a lot breaks when they beat OK, the Irish did it the old fashioned way, they earned it.
