It was a great weekend for Auburn. The starters only played in the first half and looked great. Yes, it was against Furman, but they still looked good. For example, Starter Chris Todd was 17-18 for 256 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INTs. Back up Neil Caulde was 10-12 for 117 yards, 0 TDs and no INTs.That is good against air. The startes beat Furman like they were supposed to and got a much needed rest in the second half. There were WRs playing DB and RB. Walk-ons got to see plenty of playing time. Everything looked good except punt returns. I don't know how a D1 team can't find someone to just call fair catch and catch the ball. It baffles me. Auburn is still thin in the D backfield. Anthony Gulley, listed as a WR, lead all rushers with 77 yards. He played WR, DB and RB, where he hasn't practiced since high school. He has been getting reps in practice at DB. Don't be shocked if he sees the field against UGA at DB. All in all, it was basically a bye week for Auburn.

My SEC leans last week were 4-0. I never posted the plays. No one follows them anyway. I have had a pretty good week the last two weeks.

The Georgia Bulldogs basically had a bye week as well, beating up on Tennessee Tech 38-0. They held TT to 55 total yards. I think UGA is better than their 5-4 record but I also think Auburn is better than the 7-3 record, but only bay one game. This game should be close. The oddsmakers agree. The line opened at 4 and is at 4.5 now. Auburn holds a slight edge in the series, 53-51-8. Auburn is 4-2 SU in the last six in Athens. UGA is 0-3 ATS in Athens this year. Back with stats in a few....

SEC leans

Kentucky -3 vs Vandy
Tennessee vs Ole Miss -3
Florida -15 vs USC
Alabama vs MSU +13
La Tech vs LSU -24.5

Lots of chalk there!

Bonus games

Utah +17 vs TCU
Idaho +28 vs Bosie St.

I like Kentucky, Florida, and MSU... I think LSU will have problems with Tech depending on how LSU's injury's look and I think UT wins outright... Ole Miss has to many problems right now....

Really hope AU can pull this one out....also Dyer looks like the real deal....yards after contact are crazy....lets hope he can still get those yards in the SEC, and hope he doesn't decommit

Enjoy the game Trackem.  I live in GA and attend many games between the hedges.  Should be a good one.  Might even see you there.

tennessee isnt beating ole miss... i believe ole miss will cover that number.

as far as the south's oldest rivalry is concerned, georgia wins by a touchdown.

good luck on your plays!
Gold_Rush says:

trackem i always look at your plays
especially in the SEC you are like a must read for me

Auburn? will someone tell me why they are allowed to play
Furman. come on...

anyway

Kentucky -3 vs Vandy - vandy is a hard team to read

Tennessee vs Ole Miss -3 thought this line was higer

Florida -15 vs USC  Gotta go with the gators here

Alabama vs MSU +13 a juicy home dog, no play for me yet

La Tech vs LSU -24.5 i like it

Furman. don't read into that game track
its a fantasy game. shame on auburn for scheduling it
Gold_Rush says:
11/11/09 01:58PM
actually I am not sure about LSU just yet have to think
that game over before I pick LSU. How will tehy respond
to the loss in Alabama

La Tech could pull a back door cover on them
Gold_Rush says:

If Auburn can beat Ole Miss so can Tennessee
trackem says:
11/12/09 12:12PM

Gold, I didnt read into FU much. It was like a scrimage. And I'll take 17-18 for 256 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INTs in a scrimage anyday.

Vandy is a hard team to read. UK has to beat Vandy, UGA, or UT to be bowl eligable so I expect HCRB to have his players coached up for this one.

Ole Miss has jumped to 5.5 because of the thugs at UT getting arrested. They don't play (I think) but it is now a 'no play' or if I can get 6.5+, a UT play.

I just don't see UF not covering this.

MSU dropped to 12.5. I thought it would go UP... I think it might as we get closer to game time. MSU always plays Bama tough and we know they can play above their head, see: UF vs MSU 2009

LSU is down to 24. 23.5 and I will have to play it. With Ole Miss on deck, there might be some look-ahead to factor in. This should be a warm up.

As far as 'if Auburn can beat Ole Miss so can Tennessee', that Auburn team that played Ole Miss would have one loss, max, this season. If that Auburn team playes the rest of the year, UGA will get rolled, Bama could get beat, and a nice bowl for the Tigers would be in the future.

1 of the players arrested, Janzen Jackson, started 7 games.

The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry Pick:

Auburn has the better offense. You could say by a long shot. The Furman game mighhave squed (sp?) the stats some but I'd say the Tennessee Tech game did the same for UGAs D. Speaking of UGAs D. It is better than Auburn's...depending on which Auburn shows up. If the team that beat Ole Miss shows up, I'd give the nod to Auburn. Special teams goes to UGA as far as returns. Auburn can kick FGs with the best of them. Looking at the above statements, it looks like it should be a UGA pick. I just don't see it happening though.

The Auburn Tigers
+4 2.5 units
+160 ML 1 unit

Some times you just have to go with a gut feeling. This is somewhat one of those times. You can't call me a homer. I bet Ole Miss and advised to bet LSU. You can't say that I am looking through orange colored glasses. If you bet with your heart, you will lose. Sorry I don't have anything else to offer. Feel free to add insight but please not just a "your pick sucks".

trackem says:
11/12/09 01:33PM

Total of 56.5...it is high...but leaning over

trackem says:
11/13/09 10:30AM

Final Card:

UK -3.5 vs Vandy 1 unit
Auburn +4
vs Georgia 2.5 units
Auburn ML +160 vs Georgia 1 unit

Idaho +31.5 vs Boise St 1 unit
ND vs Pitt -6.5 1 unit
Utah +20 vs TCU 1 unit

3 team 10 point teaser for 2 units:

Idaho +41.5
LSU -12.5
MSU +22.5

Thoughts?

I am packing and leaving the Loveliest Village on the Plains and headed to Athens! Will check back this afternoon and in the morning!

Nice thread.  Very tough situation for the Tide here.  Think I'd lay off that LSU game.  Those in-state rivalries have a way of costing you money.  It's either the dog or no play for me in any in-state rivalry game.  Double up has had a good bead on this KY team all year.  It pays to listen to him.

Tennessee is travelling to game this week with 3 armed robbers but they wont play...very strick discipline in new Kiffin administration...he really draws the line (message: just don't get caught!)....SEC might win a couple extras football games but the rest of us know what a big joke it is...they play by their own rules: there are no rules.

 Awful week!

Going to take the week off with my Tigers and start working on the Bama game and just clear my head.

 to all this week.

And I sort of like LTECH to cover vs LSU

but it is a night game and LSU plays well at night at home
I like how LTECH handled themselves vs Boise St

It could be a good time to catch LSU
but its not a game I want to bet tons of cash on

I really like MISS ST
