I'm puttin down 5 large on the easiest pay day of the season.  Under 9 total runs in the All Star Game....Have you seen the pitching staff this year....not even considering how amazing pitchers have been against hitters this year!!!

You've got in the A.L.

David Price, Cliff Lee, John Lester, Clay Bucholz, Justin Verlander.....

And those are the weak starters....lets look at the N.L. shall we....

Ubaldo Jimenez, Roy Halliday, Chris Carpenter, Tim Lincecum, Josh Johnson....

Comon!  there wont be more then 5 runs scored in this weak ass All Star Game....

Pound the under hard!!!  Good luck fellas!

In the year of the pitcher, under in all star game makes perfect sense.

It may be a hitters park...but good pitching beats good hitting 75% of the time....and in this case, you have great pitching....don't kid yourself fool...The under is

Buchholz is out but Pettitte takes his spot so it's irrelevant.

Agree with you 100% though. Even though King Felix should be in there for Verlander. I say the American League will win off of Matt Capps who will be the only problem of the game.

DING DING DING!!

This is EXACTLY what I was thinking troyes....

The all-star game should reflect the overall theme of the season....That being the dominance of the pitchers...Imagine the casual observer who doesn't know about that yet...

Well after Wednesday, EVERYONE will be talking about the connection between decline in steroid use and decline in hitting...I feel really good about this happening....

Good Stuff.

Good to hear from you Sparks and it looks like your Yanks should have an easy road to the World Series!!!

9 Runs is a gift.....It's too bad Sabathia pitched today or there would be one more ace on the staff!!!

Weaver pitching today was rough too. He loves pitching in Anaheim. I would have loved to have him start the game in front of the home crowd. Can't wait for this game though. It's gonna be huge.

I'm calling it...Walkoff hit by Swisher.

vanwilder21 says:
07/12/10 12:10AM

Haha....good point Sparky....Weaver did cost me a couple dimes today.....Whats with the new Avatar my brother??

Sparky10191 says:

And Weaver's road ERA going into today was 3.77. His home ERA is 1.70. That's what I call a split.

I've made a lot of money of off Weaver this season....can't hate on him....He"s been solid....

humbleness1235 says:

UNDER will be EVERYONES play...I will be on the books side and take the over!!! Nothing is easy...and pitching in an All-Star game is nothing compared to a regular game! Heart isn't in it and they will be throwing pitches to hit so the fans can enjoy the show! Don't put your entire seasons winnings on this...it will bite you!! GL THOUGH

Talent talent talent.  No doubt some pitchers here...
But take a peek at all of their total "Over"s and "Under"s.  Think you might be surprised!

There's talent swinging the wood too
I'll be on the "OVER"

Under in an exibition game as the play of the year?  You got to be kidding me.  I would agree that your analysis would make sense IF and that is a big IF all the pitchers show and and give a $hit.  You do know that in All-Star games it isn't uncommon for pitchers to not throw their best stuff right.  Why risk elbow or shoulder problems throwing that buckling splitter, slider or curveball when you can throw batting practice fastballs all day.  Point is you never know what you are going to get so I would NEVER make this a play of the year.  BOL on your play though.

vanwilder21 says:
07/12/10 12:25PM

I hear where you're coming from being an exhibition game and it would be natural not to give it 110%

But in my opinion, there are SO many good pitchers this season....This has been dubbed the year of the pitcher with all of the perfect games/no-hitters...I think we're entering a new era moving on from the steroid era where pitchers are starting to have a lot more confidence and want to be the best of their peers with all of these talented starters in the league...

Also, each pitcher will only see about an inning....Knowing this, these amazing starters are gonna give all they can to put on a show for the entire country to see.  I really think these pitchers want to be seen as the best of their peers and they will be amped to put on a good show....I think we're gonna see a record strike out total this year....

Getty3 says:
07/12/10 12:45PM

Agreed. No one wants to be Atlee Hammaker (google him if you don't remember the name.)

Fans want the All-Star game to be a high scoring slugfest, but usually it's not. I don't think for a second that the under is a square play. It's a smart play.

vanwilder21 says:
07/12/10 01:48PM

Well put!!!

vanwilder21 says:
07/12/10 03:49PM

David Price and Ubaldo Jimenez named starters....Shouldn't be any runs early....

Last 2 years, I believe there were only 5 runs scored in each game....I like the trend.....Pitchers are going to take over the game...I heard on the radio today, Tony Gwynn saying he never saw pitching back in his day like we are witnessing today....

5:05 START IN SUNNY SO CAL, MAKES FOR AN AWFUL BACKDROP FOR HITTERS EYE. PITCHERS DOMINATE THE FIRST 5 INNINGS. UNDER FOR GAME AND 5 INNINGS.

Mikado says:

I'm not playing this game - but if I were.  I'd probably play under because I feel that the square gives their money away thinking this is a slugfest.

I'm not a MLB expert and don't cap this part of the season, but this is my general feel for it.  I think people expect there to be a lot of hits and runs in an all-star game.

With the pitchers in this game, it further emphasizes to me that the under would be a good move.

Good Luck

NL first 5 with that pitching staff
Getty3 says:
07/12/10 07:26PM

No they won't. Gamblers love overs because they like the feeling of winning a bet before the game is over. If the books wanted action on the under the line would be an even 10.

humbleness1235 says:
07/12/10 07:29PM
If the pitching for this game has been talked about on ESPN and t has ALOT...everyone will be on UNDER!
humbleness1235 says:
07/12/10 07:02PM

But you have to look at this....the ENTIRE WORLD will be on this under...If you have a positive balance in your account you would realize being on the books side (especially tonight) is how you get PAID!!! When they hype up something like this...you can count on an OVER!! GL THOUGH

humbleness1235 says:
07/13/10 11:55PM
