This is some basic raw data on the Big10's out of conference games and results.  Do with it what you wish - I have some definite opinions about this and how to apply it, but until discussion comes out I just wanted to post the data:

Big 10 out of conference schedule, against FBS teams:

Big10 overall record:  21-12
Home:  16-6
Road:  5-6

VS:
MAC:  12-2
Pac 10: 1-3
Big East: 2-2
Ind:  2-2
WAC:  2-1
Big12:  1-1
ACC:  0-1
MWC:  1-0

VS Non-MAC Teams: 9-10

VS BCS conferences:  4-7

VS current top 25 teams:  1-3 (only played a total of 4 games against ranked out of conference teams)
VS current top 50 teams:  3-8

VS bowl bound teams:  6-7

Average computer ranking of 21 wins:  84 (out of 120)
Average computer ranking of 12 losses:  43 (out of 120)

10 of 21 wins came against teams ranked 100-120

Everyone unload your houses and cars and investments on Oregon.  It is a lock..

LMFAO.....OSU will cover just like last year.  OSU does not cover against teams with dominant defenses (Florida, LSU, USC last year), but when they are dogs against fast teams with no defense, they cover.....So pound away so I can get a better moneyline

Minnesota might be the Big 10's only bowl winners...

2nd year in a row where Iowa is the only Big Ten bowl winner.

I follow the Big 10 more closely than any other conference and here is where I''ll be on their bowl games.

Ohio St + 3.5 vs Oregon.  OSU has been $$ as a dog.  The same people who fade the Buckeyes vs the Ducks are the same people who lost on OSU vs Texas, USC, and Penn St.

Minnesota -2.5 vs Iowa St.  Long layoff gives the Gophers a chance to heal up and ISU is only in a bowl game because the Big 12 has been way down this year.

LSU -3 vs Penn St.  Les Miles is $$ in bowl games.  Remember what they did to Ga Tech last year?  Penn St's offense has struggled against good D, and LSU will be healed up from injury.

Auburn -7.5 vs Northwestern.  All the numbers favor Auburn, but Northwestern's performance against Missouri last year makes me nervous.  Playing Auburn anyway.

Texas Tech -7 vs Michigan St.  Tech's offense should go crazy in theis one, and State just having 11 players arrested doesn't help.

Iowa +4 vs Ga Tech.  All the numbers point to Ga Tech so this is strictly a gut bet.  Stanzi will be healthy and will be lights out on Tech's suspect D.  The Iowa staff is smart enough to figure out how to defend Tech's offense with so much time to prepare.

Forgot to add:

Miami Fl -3 vs Wisconsin.  The Badgers are much more healthy than they were against FSU last year.  Still, all the numbers point to a Miami cover, and Wisconsin letting a bad Michigan score on them like they did makes me feel easier about the Miami play.

Miami is actually much better just real conservatively coached. All the UM fans I know want Shannon out. But this is the team many were talking like they were NC caliber team in Sept., if they lose this game, it would just be fuckin embarassing to be honest.

Not touting anything until thoroughly ‘capping the games but here are my first thoughts.

OSU +3.5 over Oregon- Ducks are not the same on the road going 3-2 SU and 2-3 ATS. They didn’t play well even in the 2 ATS wins as they trailed 3-0 at half at UCLA before scoring 2 non-offensive TDs on 1st 2 plays of second half on KO return and int. return. Final score at Washington looked like blowout but yardage was 413-396 and 1st downs 23-19 in favor of Huskies. Oregon 3-6 on grass which negates speed a bit. I see game as pick so gotta take FG + hook.

ISU +2.5 over Minny- Gopher offense is pitiful (#113) and now without Decker. ISU has emotional edge in 1st bowl for a while.

LSU -3 over PSU- Both teams overrated, especially on offense. Like the Under. If I have to take side, I’ll go with SEC.

Auburn -7.5 over Northwestern – Tiger offense should explode here but tough to lay TD+ to crafty brainiacs with thugs who can hardly read and write. Toughest call here but Tigers could score 40.

Texas Tech -7 over MSU- Even without suspensions this is a solid play on Raiders vs. #103 Spartan pass “D”.

Iowa +4 over Ga Tech- ACC 1-8 ATS in BCS bowls and superb Hawkeye “D” has plenty of time to prepare for option. More importantly I’m very confident Iowa OL can dominate GT DL, controlling the clock and effectively playing defense with their offense.

Miami, Fl. -3 over Wisconsin – Canes WRs are huge mismatch over Badger DBs and there simply isn’t a passing game of this caliber in the Big 10. Quick strike scores force Wisconsin out of running game.

Final tally Big Ten 2-5 SU & ATS. Might change my mind after further study.

JW, what the fuck is up with that avatar?  is that a real picture?

team speed is what kills Wisconsin... that's why they always lose to Ohio St and Penn St, and even Michigan has always owned them traditionally... it's the reason FSU killed them last year... and i think it is the reason Miami will beat them soundly in the bowl game...
