Thanks to Mr.Bator for making us all step up our games and dig to get information needed to make wise and informed decisions. I went through Orlando's schedule to see how they faired after shooting a % better than 55% and here's what I came up with:
 
11/1/08   55%
11/3/08   41% Won 96-93 (Under 196)
 
12/3/08   57%
12/5/08   45% Won 98-89 (Under 205)
 
1/13/09   61%
1/16/09   45% Won 109-103 (Under 215)
 
1/27/09   55%
1/29/09   45% Won 99-88 (Under 195)
 
2/04/09   57%
2/06/09   44% Lost 107-102 (Under 215)
 
2/22/09   55%
2/24/09   45% Lost 120-102 (Over 202.5)
 
So in 6 games after shooting 55% they have gone under 5 of those games. They have aslo gone 4-2 but I'll take the Lakers ML since they are 6-0 ATS following a loss in the playoffs. Good luck in whatever your plays are. And thanks again to Mr.Bator for pushing us all as Tiger pushes the tour. Step up your game or step aside!!

i think the bottom line is the magic are not a defensive team and both teams have too much firepower and talent to stop anyone really ..

howard does make a differecne def yes but who knows if he will play like he is 18 and be on the bench ..

i would bet against him ALL DAY before i would bet that he will play smart tonight .. young and dumb .. is just not meant for them boys right now .. it is all about the team that lost in the finals last year .. they are too strong , they put up 100 or more tonight .

veronica27, the total went over by 14 pts. My point is that the teams would have to shoot the same %'s and the Magic have not done that this year. Game 3 everyone knew that Magic would push the ball. Phil will have to combat this with some strategy (pick up the point guard full court??). 50 pt. quarters are not that easy. Most people lose during the regular season on totals because they love the overs. Once again good luck to all.

We always are scared when playing unders. I sweat the points per minute, the clock, the fouls. Anything can happen. I just think the Lakers HAVE to slow the game down. Less than 50 pts. a quarter and we are golden!!

Oh yes.  And the under, too.  To add what vpnyc1 started, the Magic have also gone under ten times in a row after allowing better than 50% shooting at home and winning anyways.  Great sign!

Bator, with you on the under but sadly I jumped on the Lakers to break the 0 for 7 road losing streak. Also, I like that they have won straight up after their 6 losses in the post season. And if we can just get that little brat not to sing tonight...........

That was a tough win with the under, especially with OT. In the end, the Magic shot right where they have been after shooting +55% in a game, 41.9%.

Let's just see if we can come up with some winning points for Game 5 on Sunday. Here's a recap of the series and the gold nugget trends that were discovered:

 

Game 1: Last 5 Finals Game 1 were UNDER!! (CMJohnson1)
