Preakness Predictions - Midnight Interlude Looks To Bounce Back From
Disappointing Derby Run -
Online Preakness betting is about to capture the imagination of sports wagering
players everywhere this week as the 136th edition of the “Run For The
Black-Eyed Susans” goes off on Saturday at Pimlico Race Course. Midnight
Interlude isn’t being given much of a chance after a poor performance in the
Kentucky Derby, but with an excellent stable, he could follow Animal Kingdom,
who won the Derby as a darkhorse.
It took Midnight Interlude three races to win his maiden, and
then he won the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby a month prior to the Kentucky Derby.
However, he couldn’t get going at Churchill Downs and staggered to a
16th-place result in a field of 20 horses. He should be afforded a
bit more run as the Preakness field is only 14 horses, and Midnight Interlude
will be out to show he’s a better horse than what we say in Louisville. It was
his second race in a row with jockey Victor Espinoza, who won the 2002 Derby and
Preakness with War Emblem. Some horse betting players will remember his sire, War Chant, who won the
Breeders’ Cup Mile in 2000, along with the Grade 2 San Rafael Stakes, a second
in the Santa Anita Stakes, and he finished ninth in the Kentucky Derby that
year.
Midnight Interlude also has a Hall of Famer trainer in Bob
Baffert, and those who make NFL picks will tell you that the pre-game preparation is usually
more important than the actual game itself. Baffert’s five wins at the Preakness
Predictions is tied with T.J. Healey and D.Wayne Lukas for second all-time,
behind R. Wyndham Walden’s seven victories (the last of which came in 1888), and
he is going for his second straight win at Pimlico after prepping Lookin’ At
Lucky for a big victory last year. Baffert doesn’t have any other horses in the
race, so he can focus all of his attention on Midnight Interlude, and there
isn’t anyone better in the modern era who can prepare a horse for Pimlico like
Baffert, who has nine Triple Crown wins overall.
Online Preakness betting odds have Midnight Interlude rated at
+1800 Horse
Racing Odds, which was to be expected after his performance at Churchill
Downs, but he’s a better horse than that, and you’re going to see this weekend.
Getting out to a good start is essential for Midnight Interlude, who never
looked comfortable until the end of the race when he was long out of it. Again,
the smaller field should really help Midnight Interlude with getting out of the
gate cleanly, and if he can set the pace, he has the potential to run away from
the field. 2011 Preakness Predictions Don’t be afraid to take a chance on
Midnight Interlude’s sports betting odds.

Preakness betting players are waiting for the field to shake out for the
“Run For The Black-Eyed Susans” on May 21st, but they know one horse
will be in the field for sure: Animal Kingdom, the longshot who came out of
nowhere last Saturday at Churchill Downs to stun the crowd at the
137th Kentucky Derby.

Kentucky Derby results - Animal Kingdom Pulls Out Shocker At Churchill Downs
- The big news leading up to the Derby was the scratching of Uncle Mo, who was
one of the horse
betting favorites alongside Dialed In, but jockey John
Velasquez was now available. In a twist of fate, Animal Kingdom’s usual jockey,
Robbie Albarado, broke his nose in another race and even though he thought he
could go, Animal Kingdom’s stable decided to go with Velasquez. Some may think
that it was a tough thing for Albarado to handle, and it was, but fate was
looking out for Velasquez, who had come to the Derby for three straight years on
a horse that was near the top of the list when it comes to favorites, only for
the horse to be a late scratch because of injury. Now, Velasquez would have to
try and navigate a horse who had never raced on dirt through the field.
The race started out pretty evenly as there was a big pack of
horses, and there were a lot of eyes on Twice The Appeal, the horse that was
ridden by Calvin Borel, who has won three of the last four Derbies by getting as
close to the rail as possible. But the attention soon shifted to the front,
where Shackleford was setting the pace with Nehro and Mucho Macho Man hot on his
heels. The three were in the midst of separating themselves from the field, and
those familiar with WWE Monday Night Raw would have likened this to a Triple Threat match. Check

However, along came Animal Kingdom on the outside after
spending most of the race in that dangerous back, and once he got some room to
stretch his legs, Animal Kingdom stormed past the top three horses and seemed to
be getting faster down the stretch. Nehro and Mucho Macho Man came in behind
Animal Kingdom, while Shackleford faded to fourth.
It’s going to be an interesting race at Pimlico in a couple of
weeks as Animal Kingdom will be in the field, and the usual suspects will be in
Baltimore as Mucho Macho Man will look to make a race of it, while Nehro and
Dialed In are both listed at possible. But at Churchill Downs, it was all about
Animal Kingdom, who was listed at 20-1 (more in some books), and he paid off
very well for those who are Horse

While many are figuring out how to bet MLB baseball with the season just starting up, the MMA season is always going,
and there is action outside of the UFC to wager on. On Saturday, Strikeforce
will host a card in San Diego, where welterweight champion Nick Diaz will surely
have the crowd on his side when he defends his title against Paul Daley in the
main event.

MMA Betting -
Diaz, Daley Battle For Strikeforce Glory MMA
Odds - Diaz (24-7-0-1, 12 KOs) is a native of Stockton, California, and
along with his brother Nate in the UFC, they’re proud representatives of the
city. He is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu artist who has 12 knockouts, but also eight
submissions and he’s just as comfortable standing up as he is on the mat or on
his back. He can throw some fighters off with his southpaw stance on his feet,
and Diaz has won three of his last five fights by making his opponent tap. Like
his brother, Diaz has a charisma that would make WWE wrestlers proud, and he was involved in a brawl with Jason Miller,
among many others, at a Strikeforce event in Nashville back in April
2010.
Daley (27-9-2, 20 KOs) is also no stranger to controversy and
UFC
betting players will definitely remember him from his sucker punch on
Koscheck after losing a fight in May 2010. Daley, from London, England, was then
cut from the UFC and president Dana White said that Daley would never fight in
the UFC again under any circumstances. Since then, Daley has bounced around
promotions, but a common theme is that he has problems making weight: on three
occasions in his career, Daley has missed weight, even though he’s never fought
in any class other than welterweight. His background is in boxing and Muay Thai
and he has incredible power, but Daley is trying to improve his Brazilian
jiu-jitsu, making his way up to a purple belt so far (purple is still two
classes before Diaz’s black belt).
Strikeforce betting odds have Diaz as a -225 UFC
Odds favorite in this contest, while Daley comes in at +185, and as we said,
Diaz should have the crowd on his side due to being a California native. Both
men have tremendous power, but you’d have to give a slight edge to Daley,
although Diaz also has a boxing background and has better technique (both are
equal in reach). If this fight goes to the ground, Diaz would have a massive
advantage, and we also feel that he’s just a smarter fighter than Daley. This
should be an intense fight as both have had issues with their temper, but we’re
backing Diaz to keep his cool. Go with Nick Diaz to defend his title in your
online sports betting
picks. Check out the latest UFC
