Making my way towards the light, a rush of memories began to fill my
head: my first ever thread in the NHL Forum where I got 11 views and no
one wished me good luck; Sharp__Action nominating me for "Loser Of The
Month"; luckbythetruck threatening to beat me up; revengeissweet1
threatening to beat me up; the great GBP Crusades; being one of the first responders on the
scene of the terrorist attacks on the Food And Fitness Forum;
atlheatholder threatening to beat me up; trotter64 threatening to beat
me up; the rise and fall of Seaweed Nation; the day shrimp1958 was banned, and the night I
made love to SarahJPhilli in my baseball thread.
I finally arrived at the end of the tunnel, I was greeted by the sight of an outstretched hand
offering me a bottle of Miller High Life, and the words: "Fella, welcome
home." That's when I knew everything was going to be alright...
not so bad in the afterlife to be honest. All of our old friends are
here: VaughnK, gore21, ChanceP, CraveCase, RickeM - even 504saintsfan! Rumour has it the
founding members of P-Box Nation were around for a spell before they got
bored and went off and formed their own afterlife...
plenty to do here as well: I spent an afternoon building clouds out of Lego's with
Crowkillers, played 18 holes with golfandgamble (get your mind out of
the gutter michaelpaul), discussed the perils of going tout with
AJPierzynski and Bodio, had 3rd_and_Long try (in vain) to explain to me what an "action reverse" bet was, listened to some Van Halen with three time MMA
champion RichardA, and even played a few games of MLB 12: The Show™ with
The moment of zen came, however, when AlexPKeaton took
me aside for a moment and said to me the following: "APK knows the
Occupy! ©™ movement was never about one individual. APK knows it was
about a system that's broken, and has been for some time now. A system
where a moderator has the audacity to tell a fellow member: "Their site, their rules. This is not a democracy. How is that for a response?" APK knows you tried, in your own small way, to seek justice for your
fallen comrades and to bring about change to a system in desperate need
of repair. Hopefully the others know that as well." And with that, he
was gone. That's when 5_for_Fighting suddenly appeared from out of nowhere...
In any event,
this is where I must say goodbye forever friends: internet coverage
is limited here in the afterlife (damn you Verizon Wireless). That and I've got a date with BodogBecky
later on tonight (tagsrock assures me that "for a skinny chick, she's not a bad fuck").
Just remember: there is no Covers without the members, so fight for what you believe in and reclaim this site.
I'll see you all at the crossroads...
