Look for my vols to have a letdown game tonight after a big win over their first SEC opponent. Ms St. lost their first SEC, so I expect for the bulldogs to come out hungry and beat the vols by double digits. Also, Tennessee has the look ahead factor with visiting (2nd most hated rival) Kentucky coming into Thompson Boiling on Saturday.
This vols team reminds me of the past vols before Pearl.. They couldn't get cover a road spread unless it was double digits to save their life. Tennessee does not have a bench, but Martin will have to rotate more than eight players with an early game Saturday.
Bost and Hood will both have a field day on Tennessee's defense tonight. Tn does not have the guard play on defense to stop these two guards. Also, the vols are in the bottom tier in rebounding and defense.. When the vols play away from home, it shows even more how bad and unfocused they can be.
Tennesee's lowest margin of defeat came at Charlotte with a six point loss. The other two road games Tn played they were beaten by 8 and 18.
I love my vols but I will cash the ticket fading them tonight.
MS ST. 77 TN 64 Good luck to you!!! 2 unit play

Being that I live 30 minutes away from the campus of Mtsu, I thought I would be laying the money on the blue raiders tonight. After looking at the other team's spreads that both teams have played this season tells me something is fishy. Mtsu -4 vs Troy at home, Asu + 10.5 at Troy. Middle -12.5 over Monroe at home Asu -5.5 at home. Middle -2.5 at Lafayette without Dasher Asu +2. I was thinking Middle should be at least favored by 3.5 to 4.
Both quarterbacks are very talented and they both can tuck the ball and escape from defenses. They are very similar players, who will look to pass first and run second.. This should be a high scoring affair tonight, and I can see Asu and Middle both putting up 31 a piece. Both offenses have big play potential, and I expect Aplin to shread apart the defense of Middle.
Middle has not faced a throwing quarterback all season, except the Robinson kid from Troy (freshman) who picked apart the secondary for three td's.. Would have been more if Troy wouldn't have called off the dogs. Middle has the talent to stop the run, but this Alpin kid will have a field day tonight.
Expect there not to be too much defense, and this game should go well over the total bc the clock will stop due to a lot of first downs. Both offenses will look like they will be playing against a flag football defense bc of how well the quarterbacks will play tonight. I don't expect a lot of turnovers, and there will probably be two big plays for both teams..
If you want trends and all that other good stuff, the link I provided at the top should give you some good info.. Asu is a good home team, and I expect the home team to come out on top in an absolute scoring game..
Asu 34 Mtsu 28
good luck to whomever you choose.. let's make that money if you are with me
two unit tease Asu +7.5 and over 52.5.
one unit on Asu 1.5
half a unit on parlay over 58.5 and Asu
First off, this spread is way too low. If Fat Phil were still the coach of the Vols then this line would be right on target. I understand that TN is not as great as they played last week, but the young talent and aggressive d is more than enough for the bruins. Lane wants to make a big impression on the UT crowd and his mentor Norm Chow, and he doesn't care anything about running up the score after being with a coach that used to do it every game in the weak Pac-10.. "In 2005, as Southern Cal's offensive coordinator, Kiffin called the shots as the Trojans routed their crosstown rivals 66-19...." "I tell you what, you will not find anybody else in the world that wants to beat UCLA more than Ed Orgeron and Lane Kiffin.''
That was Orgeron on Kiffin's TV show Sunday morning
Ucla will have trouble moving the ball at all, and the crowd will want revenge from last yr's embarassing Labor Day loss. Tn's Rbs, Hardesty and Brown compliment each other very well, and I can see both of them having over a 100 yd's a piece again. Kiffin will have CRAPton throwing the screens and short routes in order for the passing game to be effective.. Gerald Jones returning will be big for the passing game too..
TN overall is just a better team, and they will want to showout before traveling to Gainesville. I look for Tn to get the lead early, and then the running game will just take over by game's end... Eric Berry may have his first interception for a TD this game, and I don't expect Ucla to score over 17 if they even score that much.
TN 34 Ucla 17
Mtsu is a very underrated team when it comes to the football season... Their mentality to play anybody anywhere shows when it comes time to playing in-conference games. In the last few yrs, they have pulled some upsets over a couple of big teams (Maryland, Vandy), and have played others closer than what the score may show (UofL, TN, Al, and Troy)...
The Blue Raiders could have given Clemson a better game if the special teams wouldn't have given up a KR and PR for Td's. Dasher also had a rough week, but look for him to have a strong showing at home vs a weaker opponent.. Mtsu's offense will easily put up 30+ points vs the weak d of the tigers.. Look for Tanner and Dasher both to have over 100 yds, and the raiders should cruise to a victory.. Keep in mind, "QB Dwight Dasher -- The junior rushed for more than 160 yards when the Blue Raiders beat Memphis two years ago." MIddle has a pretty good homefield advantage, but the noise will not be a factor in the game itself... MTSU did win 4 of 5 last season at home, and this will be a key win bc of the upcoming schedule that the raiders play.. Mtsu is better coached, overall, just a better team, and they have a way better defense (the D only gave up two Td's to Clemson)...
other small factors in this game: Mtsu at home, Memphis played on Monday vs a tough opponent (4 days rest), Mtsu is 1-0 on blackout games.
