BERLIN (AFP) - A German treasure-hunter has netted around seven million
euros (10 million dollars) in booty from a pirate ship sunk off the
coast of Borneo in 1806, the mass circulation Bild said on Wednesday.
Martin Wenzels, 42, is a property developer by day but moonlights as
a part-time treasure-seeker and found "1.5 tonnes of silver coins, gold
jewellery, cannons, crystal and porcelain" in the wreck of the pirate
vessel Forbes, the newspaper said.
"The coins alone are worth up to 10 million dollars," Bild added.
