Bad timing for the NBA having a lockout the same year as the NFL. I have been following the NFL lockout very closely and I have been trying to hear both sides on their issues, but I still have to side with the owners.
As far as the NBA goes, there is no way these players will get any respect or sympanthy from the public, especially after we have heard months of cries from the NFL players.
The NFL was at an all time high in popularity and I see/understand the reasons they are fighting for. I can't wait, like others for football to start. The NBA i could care less about.
The NBA had a good playoff run and some good matchups (MIA-BOS/MIA - CHI/MIA-DAL, DAL-LA, etc) and I watched more playoffs than I have in years, but that still doesnt make me care and I really don't think the players have a leg to stand on. They are the most overpaid and least presentable group in all of pro-sports. Avg salary is at $5mil - come on!
I am the first to post about the lockout which prooves my point that no one cares - I would like to hear others points of view on this issue.

Hello Everyone,
I want to introduce myself to everyone, I am MONEYLINE MOOOSE and my name comes from the fact that I only bet moneyline on the NFL. One thing I have noticed (as I am sure many of you have noticed also), while watching the NFL the last decade or so, is that any team can win on any given Sunday. This is not college where the talent level is too much to overcome, these are men and these are professionals and their livelyhood depends on their performance.
The NFL gets the most action in Vegas and the lines are usaully sharp, so I think the value in betting the NFL is the moneyline, where you are getting juice rather than giving (Note: I hate giving juice!).
Throughout the year I will be posting my 3 moneyline plays of the week, which all will be for 100 units and I will keep track and update my results. (Note: for recreational purposes only!:)
Week 1 - Bufallo over Miami - +155
Buffalo is not getting a lot of respect these days, but I do not think they are as bad as everyone thinks. They have started well out of the gates the last couple of years and at home in a divisional game they will find a way to get the victory.
Detroit over Chicago - +240
Jay Culter has been a losing quarterback his entire career...and well the Lions have been a losing team since they ran Barry Sanders out of town! Well it's week 1 and Jim Schwartz has made believers out of the Lions and Mike Martz has created some uncertainty in the Bears camp. The Lions have stockpilled high draft picks for years and this finally pays off as the Lions beat the Bears in week one and finish ahead of them in the division this year.
Pittsburgh over Atlanta - +115
How often to the Steelers get points at home? I am going to take advantage of this while Big Ben spends time at college campuses! They still have a strong running game and a good defense and QB Denis Dixon has been in the system for a year now and he is a great athlete who can do some damage with his legs. He may not win the game for his team...but he will not loose it either.
Results will be updated weekly and new picks will be made weekly.
Good luck to all....mooose!

WEEK 1 (bonus 5 ML Plays - good value early in the season as the linesmakers adjust their lines)
TENNESSEE + 245 - They handled the Superbowl champs last year and I think the Steelers will have a little Superbowl hangover!
MIAMI +175 - two surprise teams last year, I think Matt Ryan is a little overrated and I like Chad Pennington - for one reason - he wins! Plus the Falcons are weak on D.
BUCS + 240 -how did they come up with this line? Two 9-7 teams last year, Bucs are at home. Okay the Bucs lost their starting QB and Coach, but Garcia was cut and Leftwich was a previous starter (not some rookie) and they have added Ward and have Cadillac back and they always play good D. What have the Cowboys done? They lost TO and Greg Ellis and they have a new stadium (and one that fell down), must be nice being "America's Team."
REDSKINS +245 - Tough division game here and the Skins always play the Giants tough. The Skins are not getting a lot of respect in the NFC East this year (Note: I am an Eagles fan), but they do not have a lot of weakenesses and acquired fat Albert this off-season!
49ERS +240 - they played the Cards tight in both games last year and finished the season on a winning streak, I am looking for this to continue while the lost Superbowl still haunts the Cards (and these are still the Cardinals afterall!)
I will post and update weekly, all thoughts and opinions are welcome!
