It seems to me a very plausible outcome of the 2012 college football season might well result in LSU facing Florida in the BCS Championship game. If LSU and Florida both win the remainder of their games, they will face each other for a second time in the SEC Championship. If LSU then goes on to beat Florida, it is very reasonable that Florida would drop marginally and find themselves #2 in the final BCS rankings. Of course, LSU would have vaulted to #1 by defeating both Alabama and Florida (along with Miss. State) which would result in LSU vs Florida rubber match in Miami!
GEAUX TIGERS!!!
p.s. There is a good chance that LSU, Florida and Alabama will wind up 1,2, and 3 in the final BCS rankings having lost only 1 game to each other. Imagine how everyone would feel about a 4-team playoff then..
Here is a very plausible outcome to the college football season...
1. Oregon, Kansas State and Notre Dame each lose one of their upcoming games (including conference championships). When is the last time any of them had a perfect regular season?
2. LSU runs the table and finishes 13 - 1 (having beaten a one-loss Florida team in the SEC championship game) and is #1 in the BCS.
3. Alabama wins the remainder of its games except for a close loss to LSU and finishes 12 - 1 (only loss being to #1 LSU away in Tiger Stadium at night).
4. LSU (#1) vs Alabama (#2) in the BCS Championship Game!
p.s. I predicted this same scenario directly following Alabama's loss to LSU last year and everyone called me crazy...
