This is my first thread here in covers.com, and for the past months since i joined this community, i only allowed myself to read other people's threads and just enjoy...well, also feel sorry the stories of my fellow cappers.
I have had my ups and downs in betting, yes "trap" lines got the best of me when i was just a newbie in this business, but (not to sound cocky or anything) as a fast learner myself, i quickly learned the name of the game.
For the past 2 weeks i decided to do something about these "trap" lines...whenever a famous team (i.e. lakers, cavs, boston, magic....you guys know them) is on a line where they seemed to be the "obvious" picks...i went against them. but not always, i picked the line where their enemy was weak and at HOME. For example, the orl@chi+2 last week...chi won. Hou+2@chi yesterday...chi won. and today these lines no@nj+4.5...njn won. den+2@ind....ind won. Lakers+4.5@phx...phx won.
I concluded that there is no such thing as a "TRAP" line. People just tend to overthink their picks and think hey this is the better team, the lakers, theyre stronger because they have kobe and nash is injured. This is another misconception, just because a player is injured doesnt mean the team has no players who can step up. like okc's durant. he was injured and i still took okc on the okc+4@mem line. you just have to think which side you are on, and you can do this without overthinking.
Now i just moved my rank from 10460 to rank 18 since i learned how to bet wisely.
No bets are obvious, especially in the nba. follow what ive done, if you think its a trap line. choose the other side even if you dont like it. i call these picks "black horse" picks. because they eventually win and you wont even see it coming
