The Oakland Raiders want Cable back after a much improved season currently their record is 7-8 and could have their first winning season if they beat the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Oakland went 4-8 back in 2008 5-11 personally I'm in favor of Cable staying because I'm looking at the improvement. Obviously we aren't going to the playoffs, but we aren't where we were last season. We were in the playoff hunt/conversation in December before this year it's been along time since that has happened. Sure Cable has made some mistakes, but which coach hasn't? Raider fan need to give him a break because the players sure are. Punter Shane Lechler even said himself "It would be a huge setback, We’ve invested so much of our time and there’s been so much commitment starting from the day he took over. Not only this year. He had a plan. The plan is working. It would be a terrible disappointment if there was a change because he’s the guy for this job. This job is for a blue-collar, hard-nosed coach. That’s what we need.”
Raider Nation I'm all for Cable, Hue Jackson and John Marshall. We need consistency at the head coaching position especially for Jason Campbell. He's been through more Head Coaches/systems then anyone. It's vital that we been Cable and co for our young players to grow and to get better.
Posted Monday, December 27, 2010 12:29 PMEveryone knows that the Head Coach of the 49er's Mike Singletary was fired today, but now we must get rid of the Oakland Raider's Head Coach(Tom Cable) next. I'm tired of his flip flop coaching styles. When we play in our division we are known to be a run the ball first and pass second. Yesterday Jason Campbell thew the ball more than Peyton Manning. Since when was Oakland a pass first team? Darren Mcfadden carries the ball only 11 times? That is not who we are as a team. We didn't lose because the Colts are a better team. Like I said, depending on which Raider team shows up will determine our outcome.
This man caused so much drama this year which is why we only have 7 wins and not 11-12 this year. The benching of Jason Campbell and promoting Bruce Gradkowski was an insult to Jason! I understand he started off a little rough, but as time went on he improved and looked better than Gradkowski. Al says he wanted Campbell, but what does Cable do? Benches him and starts Bruce. He gets hurts out for the year and what do you know Jason plays even better. Cable then has a balls to say "Bruce is still our starting quarterback" Yeah It's time to disconnect the cable!
Posted Sunday, December 26, 2010 08:34 PMOakland came into the game with hopes to have a shot at a playoff run, but I think they were doing some score watching before the game. If Kansas City would have lost to the Tennessee Titans I think Oakland would of played with more fire under there belt. This team gave up and when they showed signs of life it was a day late and a dollar short. Final score 31-26. Maybe next year I guess. Wait if the world is going to end on 12/21/2012 I guess the Raiders will never be champs again. Oh Well.
Posted Saturday, December 25, 2010 12:19 PMThe words that describes the Oakland Raiders this year would be "Roller Coaster" They're 7-7 right now, but they should be 11-3. Team like Arizona, San Francisco, Miami, Jacksonville beat them, but I say the Raiders really beat themselves. They show signs of greatness by beating San Diego, Denver, and Kansas City. Oakland is 5-0 in the AFC West. If they come into this game against Peyton Manning like they do in their division there is no doubt they can win this game. Tom Cable is telling things that I already know and I agree. "We must be more physical by stepping on their necks and cutting it loose." On defense that's exactly what the Raiders front four does. They have a fierce Defensive line Seymour, Kelly, Houston, Henderson, and Shaughnessy. When they play the way I know they can the linebackers and defensive backs don't need to blitz.
Other defensive matchups that favor Oakland is Nnamdi Asomugha vs Reggie Wayne. Nnamdi's ankle is feeling alot better and I feel good about this. I just hope the other DB's can do there part by sticking with those receivers long enough until our defensive line can force Manning into bad throws and/or sacks.(No Dallas Clark or Austin Collie is a sigh of relief too)
Joseph Addai should be back, but I don't think he'll be in game shape to be an ex factor. (Remember what Reggie Bush did when he came back to play the Dallas Cowboys?)
One offense Darren Mcfadden, Michael Bush, Marcel Reese, Jason Campbell, Zach Miller, and Jacoby Ford will cause a lot of problems tomorrow for the Colts defense. The matchups that concern me is LT Jared Valdheer vs Dwight Freeney, Langston Walker (assuming he plays) or Mario Henderson (I hope it's not Henderson) vs Robert Mathis. Oakland is a run first team and pass second, but if Oakland can't get that run game going and Indy makes Oakland a one dimensional team by forcing Oakland to rely on the pass game it's going to be a long day for Campbell.
If the team that plays like a 11-3 vs Indy it's going to be a very good day. Even if Kansas City win and eliminates us from the playoffs, I need Oakland to play like they still have a chance. We're building something special and we're just getting started. If you're a true Raider fan like me, trust me the fun is about to begin. San Diego is slowly on the decline and we're on the rise. (Us and Kansas City) I can see Raiders and Kansas City duking it out for years to come.
